  • GO MONTANA!

  • this is what happens when the government tries to fix things...they use black mail and use the ol lets do it for the country spiel...that is y i will never vote b/c THEY ARE ALL FUCKING LIERS !!!

  • WHEN THEY TELL YOU NOT TO PANIC THAT'S WHEN YOU RUUUUUUUUUNN!!!

  • You Maggie Chin needs to shut up & die!!! Look at the mass panic that you've just caused & you don't even care about that or what FEMA/USGS/etc is having to deal with. All you care about is fame & being there first. Those military, congress, white house, etc jacka** people are going to regret claiming it's going to be the size of Mount St. Helens. So what if it stops the chaos; they're still not going to be far enough away & prepared enough for a super volcano to survive.

  • politics , many bloodsuckers ...poli tics

  • When I become a geologist I would rather risk my career than let people die because there was only a slim chance of the eruption.

  • It's a catch 22: Say something and people will die, don't say something and it happens, people will die.

Also the part about harmonic tremor is a bit misleading. Sure it means lava is on the move, but as the one guy said "it can stop as well as start". Redoubt Volcano in Alaska proved that a few years back.

  • what does he say at 3:52 ?

  • @meddy1100 I *think* he says, "Nailed the poor b@stard to the wall."

  • What is it that the one guy says at 7:31? I've listened to it a couple of times but can't figure it out. Thanks.

  • Fact 3: in a VERY little while ... neither Fact 1 nor Fact 2 will matter at all.

  • I love how they say end of the world! It's only North America that's fucked. Sure, flights will be delayed, stock markets would crash. But I don't understand how they can say ''End of the world.''

  • If it was me, that guy could kiss my ass, I'd tell the truth of what I thought. The problem with people today is letting themselves be scared or intimidated by these assholes. He's a respected geologist, like he couldn't get another job somewhere else. America isn't the only place on earth that hire geologists...so if he lost his job so what?

  • @boyakasha777 i can understand where thier coming from tho, the hole country was in panic and even he knew the chances of a super eruption were still low, people could of ended up losing thier lives and nothing could of even happened you know what im saying? unless hes almost 100 percent sure i dont think he should come out and say anything.

  • The USGS answers to the Department of the Interior, not whatever agency this guy is part of. Sure, telling him to piss off would likely hurt his resumé, but it probably wouldn't cost him his job.

  • The dollar, food rioting, stock markets being in a bad place are irrelevant next to life. The scientists should have gone public the moment harmonic tremors were detected, everyone would've evacuated and a majority of the people in the surrounding areas could have gotten out.

I'm hopeful that when this does happen that it goes west instead of east.

  • What have disaster movies taught us? the elite will be saved in caverns, the public will be utterly destroyed.

But what kills me is that these scientists remain even in the threat of an eruption, leave the instruments in place and get the hell out. Don't wait until it's erupting to leave.

  • yes and its pointing to happening very very very soon.

  • Its good tv but thats all it is folks. This could happen next week or in 10,000 years time from now....

  • Thanks so much for posting this...we don't feel very well right now...but this is definitely useful info.

  • in the real world, when this blows, obama wont have to send mony anywhere because it wil be gone and im not over astemeting things im just telling things how they are :)

  • I like how they pan to the muslim family at 7:10 in the airplane scene.

  • @26fastedd I believe the family are Sikhs -- from India.

  • If they where that close to a volcano like that thered be more than shaking. The blast would have liquified their organs at that distance.

  • our counrty is going down the toilet.. we are going to be a parking lot...

  • Think about it... Let's do a hpothetical; The world is ending tomorrow. We know this for a FACT. You really believe the governments of the world would give two flying fucks about you or informing you? Yea right, a real threat would never be reported until it hits and even then they would deny it and trivialize whatever kind of disaster we may be talking about.

Politicians are professional liars. They do NOTHING but lie and "angle" things you don't want to hear, it is EXCLUSIVELY what they do.

  • @facepalmization And why do you have to use bad language?

  • @facepalmization And why do you have to use bad language?

  • @Bruno86866 - You are confusing "have to" with "want to". There is no such thing as "bad language".

  • @facepalmization that is so very true

  • @facepalmization yeah , and while the outer layer of the world is burning , they will be quite safe in their bunker 20miles below the ground while us lot are left to burn. i totally agree with you , they are all professional liars as you put it.

  • @facepalmization Except that THIS is not the end of the world. It's a disaster of global proportions, but one in which the human race would survive. The politicians would eat themselves alive while the U.S. government fell apart and the US landmass was taken over by some other government(s).

Remember the shortlived TV show "Jericho"? That's more like what would happen.

The governments worst enemy is truth. However the information would get out. Thank the internet for that.

  • @facepalmization Unfortunately our Russian geological sensor equipped satellites discovered magma plumes rising in several parts of the United States, how near they are to the surface and how large is still being currently studied. It is of interest to us also since we discovered magma plumes rising in Northern Siberia near the Arctic Sea.

  • Considering the government has clamped down on information coming out, concerning the Yellowstone caldera activity already, i think its time to start sweating bullets.

  • Fuck the government, Fuck the people that like how the government operates, and most of all FUCK THE PUSSIES THAT WON'T TAKE A STAND AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT"S CORRUPT WAYS

  • It could happen this way but i don't think it would be that quick. Figure it took MSH 2 months to go from wake up to boom, could take something this size 200 years or more.

  • They're all gonna die!!!!!!!

    I knew it.

    Even the bald Scotsman.

  • I swear if something happens like this the politicians better not act like that. It's fucking stupid.

  • FINALLY BBOOOOOOMM MY WORK HERE IS DONE

  • Those politicians are idiots. Rick knows more than they do yet they want him to lie.

  • Garry Chalk!!! Optimus Primal FTW.

How funny that I only learned Chalk was in this after first watching this show premiere all those years ago.

  • If there's one thing I absolutely hate, it's people who don't let the public know LIFE-SAVING information because they're afraid it will cause a 'panic'. The sad part about this movie is I would totally expect our government to behave this way. It's realistic in that regard IMO.

  • this guy pisses me off just say the fucking information and everybody will be ok jezz is it really that hard!!!!!

  • This "movie" wasn't even made by someone in the United States. It was made by the BBC which is the British Broadcasting Corporation. There are a few facts in this movie. But most of it is just supposition.

  • @howysgirl1

Dude, it contains a quite a lot of facts, its based on something we should be aware about but there are bits that is there simply for entertainment.

Thats why its called a docu-drama.

  • What a piece of shit lol. Thanks too everyone there America didnt just die. It went straight too hell.

  • SuperVolcano part 2 due to be released next year at theathers worldwide! *everyone exits the theather in anticipaton and dissapointment*

  • wierd, for some reason at 6:50 i had a strange image of billions of flesh eating teletubbies bursting out of the ground

    could it be a prophecy?

  • thats why you never believe any thing the government says. if the scientist warns you once be smart get the fuck out of there. the government doesnt care about you they care about the money

  • @bear3ktp: It's a fiction ... a story. The whole setup is designed to play on your stereotypes of government officialese, scientists stuck in the works, media applying pressure. It is not as simple as all that, nor is your assessment.

  • I'd even go so far as to say that the BBC is using this to manipulate you and their viewing public. Feed a little mistrust of gov in, show we're on your side against big gov and bug science; don't mention big media. Sells more commercials.

Of course, that's just me being paranoid. Really, there is no big this'n'that; there are individuals trying to act in their own best interests, as they see them. Including you and me.

  • That old guy is a stubborn a__hole. I wish people would do(better), virtual tests, study their backgrounds, their personalities, anything bad or negative about them, etc.

In order to make sure the wrong, stubborn, corrupted, bad or evil, greedy, etc people don't get any jobs; espec. government/military, navy, etc/law enforcement/media.

If anything's true from fictional scifi/thriller/horror/etc movies and tv shows/grograms/etc, then I'll have a hard x trusting people from any of those jobs.

  • by the 7th minute I was like FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK

  • i thought the president would be saying something by now. i guess this doc is saying that the president doesnt matter lol

  • i remember watvhing this on tv

  • I agree the government only cares about themselves and the power they hold and don't give a crap about the people that is why we have all this incidents in the world the wars the crime everything is basically linked to the government and their obsessiveness to stay in power even when things to to crap.

  • @JediAtlantis: Now, that's pretty cynical.

  • Mark my words i don't if it will be yellowstone volcano or whatever but this is clearely a cryptic vision in a near future it show how mutch the damn mainstream media alway fucking lie whatever the tru info is we never gonna hear the truth until the shit hit the fans

  • I was hoping to see a documentary about a supervolcano eruption. Instead what I get is propaganda telling us in a fictive story that it would be better if the media would be nationalized, or at least 'controlled'. I think I'll have to stop watching this "documentary', even though I'm a big fan of dystopian movies. We need independent media telling us true facts and their sources, that is the best for everyone. All what these government pricks are worried about is to loose their control...

  • @edyinthesky: Well, you have at least 20 or 30 other videos you can watch. You might even go to the USGS website and learn something real. You won't find it here (or in most of the 20-30 other videos, either).

  • whats great is that the Discovery Channel showed it in one whole complete movie.

  • hunting trapping and fishing not to mention makeing paleo weapons yeah ill be around a little bit longer than the suits at wallstreet when the s&*( hits the fan. get ready to dance mother earth will buck soon enough.

  • The government's top priority is to prevent a stock market decline. Ain't that the truth. The first thing Congress would do after a super-eruption would be to send money to Goldman Sachs.

  • oh much can you buy if the dollar is worth .0001 cents?

  • @smileymiley2576 dont need a dollar, speed and fast hands comes into play there :)

  • @sonoki82 yes nothing like sending money to golden sachs, they might as well throw there monrey down the toilet, it will have a better use.

  • @sonoki82 as he said. too much politics, not enough science. Aint that the truth about most things.

  • @sonoki82 Thanks to videos like this, I am now preparing to prepare for any man made or natural disaster.

During a scenario like this, the last thing Obama or congress should be thinking about is Goldman Ballsachs.

  • if this did happen, there wouldnt be a congress or a country left

  • @ 7:32ish what does Jock say?????

  • lol i think they mean Idaho not Iowa

  • 6:23 here we gooo

  • Rick is such a bastard going along with tose politicians, he is a scientist, he shouldnt be deny out facts and leave of possibilitys

  • Well he practically had a gun at his head.

  • but not a real gun, he is scientist, never be forged by politicians. You see what the result is of that + people dont think what to do with scientists anymore, because of this. Good things of scientist, that they always try to get the exact answer without denying possibilities

  • He did what he could. Also, just keep in mind, this is a show. All this is probably for added drama. It is possible, though.

  • Scientists are humans too. You might be surprised once you join a research group :-(

  • @FlippieX: The road to management is paved with good intentions. You learn to be a scientist or engineer in 6-8 years, you get to actually do it for 3-4, then you start climbing the ladder. If you make it to the top, you wind up in these kinds of positions, which only have tangetial need of the science.

  • @FlippieX: Life is a bitch, sometimes. You start out as a bright young scientist. You discover after ten years in the field that what you were taught has changed, your salary has gone high enough to make you vulnerable to being laid off, and there is no job for you up above unless you go into management. You do that, and all of a sudden everything you do has a political side. You can't think like a scientist anymore, you have to regard what other people think.

  • This super eruption is just a small part of what COULD happen if the pole shift of earth happens, watch 2012 the movie, is just a movie but base in true like this!

  • if the poles shift were screwed...the magnetic field is the only thing keeping us from burning to a crisp i just learned this in my science class....

  • watch "The Core" and/or 2012 if u have not seen them yet. since u just learned about poles shifting and the magnetic fields

  • i dont plan on watching 2012 because its a retared movie that makes the earth look like its Hallow when its not...

  • @Requiredghr18

If thats what you get from the movie then you are mistaken. It simply states that the crust of the earth could slide, if the right conditions occur. I doubt it would happen how they show it does. Either way You should watch "A global warming?" Has a few interesting points to it

  • u know i NEVER said those would be reliable sources i just said those would be cool to watch

  • @Requiredghr18

Sorry meant to reply to DarkDreamsForever

  • There have been five mass extinctions on the planet, and I believe at least one was caused by a super-eruption.

  • Well this is an interesting movie, but I am still not wanting to write that paper. No worries thou I will get it handed in before midnight tomorrow.

  • It doesn't work -_-

  • lol same here whats school do you go to

  • we are watching this in science class and now everyone is all freaking out it is really funny though but scary that it could happen!!

  • omg im watching it too :DD

  • WHERE ALL GOING TO DIE OH SHIT!!

  • Yes. Over there!

  • Two things: First, is it just me or is the audio a bit further forward than the video and Second, does anyone think this may be the disaster people are saying about for 21st Decmber 2012?

  • Q1, Yes

Q2, It is possible, the human race will die out someday, just like any other species.

  • First of all, all these movies showing the end of the world (Day After Tomorrow, 2012, This) are taking scientific theory and speeding up the process by about....many million years. Geologic events take long periods of time to take place. Don't get caught up in the damn 2012 fears.

  • '...and now he's in love with a volcano. Its Casalava!'

  • They want him to make a lie when the eruption is going to happen. Caring more about policitcs and money when this is going to happen.

  • I'm going to call Redecker Plan.

There's really nothing they can do. They had perhaps three to seven hours to move three million people(The roads are still fucked) and prepare the rest of the country for the fallout. The only thing they can do now is deny it so people will die off faster so more food will be available.

  • im scared

  • tthey just putting there heads in the sand which is pretty much what happened before pompaii got nailed.its just normal lol normal that just before we ALLL get messed over HUGE like H1N1 we all put our collective heads in the sand and say "OH ITS GUNNA BE FINE DON'T WORRY WE ARE ALL FINE" till it hits and hits bad

  • The worst thing that can happen is when politicians care more about their political futures and their wall street pals by forcing scientists to make lies for them.

  • At some point, this planet will shake us off like a dog shaking off a flea, and we can't prevent it, maybe prolong it but never prevent it.

  • Daniel - at least give Carlin credit for that line. ;0)

  • hehe:D

  • we r a part of the planet tho we can tame it i live in the Negev Desert, thats an extention of the Sahara so we can live anywhere, intelligents is difficlut to shake off

  • This proves that the government lies to us. All, the, time.

  • Its a docu-DRAMA, not really... but you are partially right

  • @viva9626 It's a docu-drama you idiot.

  • @viva9626 thats what my said too!

  • @viva9626 That's because the government wants to control us, anything that makes it easier to control everyone, including lying, they'll do.

  • @viva9626

right, a movie, that portrais a possible scenario, "proves" something?

no, it portrais a possible scenario, things that might happen...

  • @viva9626 a fictional scenario is proof of nothing. Its a fucking movie, not a documentary. Ive actually coresponded with Jacob Lowenstern the real rick leiberman, hes honest, forthright, and always happy to answer questions.

  • what does he say at 3.52.

I guess he speaks some scottish sometimes hard to understand.

  • "they nailed the poor bastard to the wall"

  • hm ja thx

  • y is the govenment always like this

then if it happens they blame others

  • none of this panic and traffic jam stuff would happen if ppl would just remain calm, but that doesnt happen because we suck that way XD

  • too right man! If your gonna get killed in a few minutes or whatever you might as well run around naked yelling incoherent words of fun lol

  • from what ive seen so far is this will be a dangerous event many people will die and the ash and rock thrown into the air will block out all the sunlight causing the nations crops to die the water supply will have ash in it so the usa will have no food or water and the death toll will be greater than expected and surrounding countries like canada and mexico will have great damages but not as bad as usa so if that thing does go off we are in deep trouble.

  • its true no matter ware you are it will affect you

  • In an explosion this size, it wouldn't matter where you lived at. The amount of rock, ash, and other crap thrown up in the atmosphere would blanket the atmosphere, reducing sunlight and temperature. Some places would be more affected than others. However, we would see catostrophic conditions that would resemble Biblical events.

  • yeah way too much tephra (all non-lava volcanic expulsions) would be throen up, and srry i accidentally voted your comment down

  • im glad i live in the uk-there are no volcanoes here and we arnt near any tectonic plates! plus we dont get earthquakes or tornados! but the weather is crap lol

  • Sorry to prove you wrong, BUT, we infact do get earthquakes here. The last was a 5.2 on the richter scale, epicentre Market Rasen in Lincolnshire. I know because i felt it. And we have more tornado's per square mile than any other country in the world. FACT + FACT

  • im glad we don't get REGULAR earthquakes here, and we do have volcanoes, we are just lucky they're extinct.

  • i live in the netherlands. here can no volcanoes grow. the ground is sand and water

  • volcanoes dont grow, the rise when plumes of magma rise out of the ground when you are near a tectonic boundry or over a hotspot. there very well could be a volcano where you are if your section of the tectonic plate moves over a hotspot. an example is the hawaian (not spelled right) islands in the pacific ocean, they are right in the middle of the pacific tectonic plate but they were made from volcanoes, ie: over a hot spot. im not calling myself an expert or anything, just some things i learned

  • well you might get good education and be a professor. youre pretty smart

  • thanks, volcanoes and plate tectonics have been one of my interests ever since i heard of them a while ago in my earth science class

  • Well, you'll get washed away when the sea level rises with global warming.

    hahahahaha...

  • The safest place is probably somewhere in the middle of Russia. Far from tsunamis, far from the Indonesian, Italian, South American and American volcanos, far from just about anything major. If that place had a good economy and a good government, everyone would probably try to move there.

  • russia has its own supervolcano

  • If you're talking about the Siberian Traps then those don't really count. Those were basaltic flows that took place a couple hundred million years ago. As far as I know, Russia has no stratovolcanoes or anything volcanic at all as of this century.

  • ..... oh well Russia it is

  • It hasn't erupt for 'long' time? How long?

Houdards years? that's quite long for u and me and the humanity, but it's properly a matter of second in gergraphy history, humanity is humble front of mother nature, human only exist for a short period in earth, and the 'civilization' is only appear for about 5000 years only, before that, humanity has no sensative for 'history record'

  • It hasn't erupted in two million years. At the time it would have been recorded in cave paintings.

  • @DanDood11: What, Yellowstone? Last eruptions were from 120,000 to 70,000 years ago.

  • well nature found a way.... (Chernobyl)

  • wtf does nature have to do with Chernobyl?

  • its natural for a distaster like chernobyl to occur... i mean, anything like nuclear power is always at risk to do something like this, and it did

  • @KingOfBBQ: Russia has a border on the ring of fire. There are large volcanoes on the Sekhelin peninsula.

  • Comment removed

  • wait, is this tottaly fake, or did they evacuate places for real, and if so, when?

  • this is a prediction of what is going to happen some time in the future

  • This is my own personal horror movie.

  • reply to xownagexINC's amusement that the black guy dies first. Funnily enough, the only people that survived the Toba blast 70,000 years ago were a few thousand east Africans, out of a million people on the planet at the time. These were also xOWNAGE's direct ancestors, yes they were black, no, they would not be happy to see that some of their own great great great ...great grandchildren like xOwnage are such miserable racist ignoramuses...

  • trouble is that people think that if this volcano goes it's just america's problem. In the last supereruption (Toba) 70,000 years ago most of the human population in the world was wiped out from the long winters and starvation following the eruption. Only a few thousand people were thought to survive that event.

A three year long winter following Yellowstone supereruption will bring global starvation, and not just because the american midwest, breadbasket to the world, is buried in ash.

  • im so scared i live in relatively close to yellowstone(in the mountain range) i am so scared cuz i think this will happen really close

  • So get out. Get a job in another country.

  • Ohhh look a negative comment, lets guess where this fat boy is from. EXACTLY> The land of the fat. I end my case.

  • "Every interstate in Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Iowa and Nevada is turning into a god damn parking lot!"

    I love that line, lol.

  • end of the world...... Bummmmmmmmmmer!

  • @readywerx guess its time to do as much fuckin and gettin wasted as you can XD

  • no worries. if it blows, FEMA will be there to deal with the catastrophe. so we wont see the global starvation and depopulation scientists predict. instead everyone will have water bottles and cozy mobile trailers shipped up from New Orleans. no need for alarm. happy new year. :-)

  • lol.

  • btw. that "lol" was directed at trainbows, not rob32909.

  • hey johnsangel, why you laughing at my post? :-(

i'm sure FEMA would do a heck of a job in this disaster.

  • They sure did a heck of a job in the last one!

  • More like everyone dies

  • nature doesn't discriminate. Disasters happens and people will be killed. Each life is precious and Americans aren't special or God's chosen ones, although they always think they are. Mostly they think about ONLY themselves. E.g by always yelling on each and every occasion "GOD BLESS AMERICA". I'd say: God Bless all people of Mother Earth.

  • There is nothing wrong w/ patriotism...I expect every person of every nation to be a patriot--I also expect them to value human life. And yes I do understand what you mean, and yes I will continue to say GOD BLESS AMERICA and all the other people of earth.

  • yea

  • People need to stop stressing so much!

  • All that masturbation for no final eruption.

  • It's good to know they are having a quake swarm...over 300 small quakes since this past friday...

I'm glad I live in Utah. At least I will get a good look at what is going to kill me.

  • not everyone in the usa deserves this. and what right do you have to even say the world hates the usa. maybe its just u. check urself before u post something like that. u never know someone could say u deserve something like this.

  • Name 5 countrys than likes america, i can name 15 that like japan includinbg the usa.

  • i don't care how many countries like america. its how many people in the countries like america. kudos for have 15 countries that like japan but can you name people in those countries that like it? that arn't pliticians? you may be able or you may not. so the world doesnt hate america. individual people do. politicians mainly.

  • No, most of the world loves the United States. So shut the fuck up.
