The Wii Hori Stick looks like it's harder to mod even than the Hori EX2 on 360. The Tekken 6 stick is small, so I'm sure that it's tough to mod, too.
The Street Fighter IV Standard Edtions & bigger Horis Sticks are easier to mod (He could've covered that in ONE video).
The Street Fighter IV Tournament Edition already have the good parts in them & that why they cost so much. You're good to go from the start. The Marvel vs. Capcom sticks are also Tournament Edtions.
Really helpful video thanks, just a question on the the mini pcb for start and guide did you just take the solder and heat up the already soldered pcb to join the wire from the controller? Hope it's not confusing.
The whole desoldering process would also work with the EX2 right? cause the points look exactly the same, only difference is that the all the buttons for the wii stick are all connected on one board, while the EX2 has the buttons connected on 2 seperate boards, but it should still be the same right?
ight thanks man, and if you dont want to switch out your stick, but switch out the restrictor plate, would you just have to take out the square gate, and just screw on the restrictor plate? i hear you have to drill holes though. but would it still work that way? cause i dont have the money for the stick lol
Yes, but the contacts on the sanwa buttons are larger and farther apart from each other then the hori buttons. That means they wont fit in the holes like the hori buttons. You would have to bend the contacts and maybe cut a little bit off to get the to fit. It would probably be easier to use wire.
There are tons of colors. I have green in my other stick. These are actually purple. I got them originally to do a purple/black stick to offset my other green/black stick but ended up putting them in the hori.
Because I didn't want to leave a hole that dust or other unwanted objects could use to get inside. You can very well drill the entire section out if you want but I prefer not to have a hole on the bottom of my stick.
Still kidna confused on how exactly the stick is being secured to the box. Are the Microswitch screws actually securing the joystick? I know you "widened" the pre-existing holes so the plastic threads of the box could fit in, did you screw something else on the other side?
I just use wire I took out of a cat5 network cable. It 22awg cable I believe, you can buy spools of cable at places like radio shack but I've got a ton of network cable lying around so I just use that.
The Capcom vs Tatsunoku stick is pretty much just a standard edition SF4 stick. It's much easier to mod.

I believe I added some prior to connecting the wire.

Wait. . . so you don't need solder to wire the guide button to that board? Or is there already some on there?

Yeah it's the same, just you have that extra board for the other buttons rather then all on the same board.

would i still be able to switch to sanwa buttons without all that wires?

question: why does everyone get those pink sanwa buttons? are those the only color available?

Why didn't you drill a hole in the spot right under the joystick instead of grinding the screw and sanding the plate?

The plastic threads are what the screws are screwing into, in turn securing the joystick and microswitches.
