I first saw this in 98. Amazing! Also with the other guy on mandolin, this is proper contemporary blues.
It's a shame Eric tried to get more commercial a couple of years later. Don't know if it was the bass player's influence or not but it was a disappointment at the last few gigs I went to.
...I honestly can remember the name of the venue... (I think it was called "The viewing Room") They had a very sopfisicated in-house video system integrated into the room... 5 mechanically operated cameras engineered from a wall of monitors in a back room...
Hi kramerblues, Thank you for the reply. I research this venue more. Was it in the SF area? LA? It's a great clip, always nice to find acoustic music on YouTube!
FROM BIBB'S WEBSITE- Eric was given his first steel-string guitar aged seven. Growing up surrounded by talent, Eric recalls a childhood conversation with Bob Dylan, who, on the subject of guitar playing advised the 11-year-old Eric to "Keep it simple, forget all that fancy stuff".
@alphashed For some reason, I hear the Dylan influence.... Not only with the the picking, but the gentle lyrics as well. Dylan is the epitome of music genius. Bibb holds true to his roots and takes influence in stride. Beautifully executed song.
Here what he's saying people...that NOW is tne needed time...we are all in need of salvation...he's calling out to Jesus to come by here, even if He can't stay long, just come by here, that's all we need is Christ's touch. It's about our relationship with the one who loves us so much.
Yes, Sir.

...a particularly moving performance of this song.
At about 3 min. in Eric visibly starts to tear up a bit...
But then Mr. Bibb could always evoc ones deepest emotions.
Thanks for putting up and sharing this cherished memory!
