I've noticed that your compositions tend to lean towards the French Baroque style, yes? My compositions (mostly concertos) are usually in the Italian Style, though I've recently tried to tackle German Baroque (in Bach's style, mostly) and French Baroque.
Thanks so much for your comment, Bryan! I try to compose in various styles, and the 'Suite a tre voci' was intended to lean towards the French style. I am glad that it actually does sound French!
It's in C major. My intention was to hint at the French baroque style, so I am glad that it was successful ;-).
The recording was done using MIDI, but I tried to make it sound, at the very least, a little musical by tweaking some of the articulation and rhythm. If it sounds even a little like real musicians, then I think I must have done something right . . . hehe. The samples also play a role, of course.
I forgot to mention: the recording uses a common pitch of the Baroque era (about a′ = 415), which is close to a semitone below modern day concert pitch (a′ = 440), so if you were to play it by ear, it would sound as if the key is B major.
One of the Baroque pitches, yes. The pitch of a' = 415 is one that today's Baroque performers have agreed upon for convenience. It is close to a common pitch used in Germany at the beginning of the 18th century, but certainly not the only pitch used at that time.
still so baroque ! :) great achievement!
