Johnny Depp, in my opinion, would be one person who could pull it off. He really becomes a character, that's what it would take. Howard directing the film, that I could really see.

Artie Lange attempted suicide after he was fired from the Howard Stern show. That's my theory to this whole ordeal. Howard rarely speaks about Artie and he clearly isn't trying to have Artie back on the show... but with good reason. He's scared of Artie now and who wouldn't be?
Howard rarely speaks on a firing and he tries to tip toe around those kinds of things. It took him a long time to speak on the KC firing. Dec 09, Artie wasn't going to no medical bullcrap. He was fired.

Artie was never really that funny. Neither was Jackie for that matter. All Jackie and Artie would do is get paid to laugh at Howard's jokes and the guests. That's it. Jackie and Artie were just comedians brought in to stroke Howard's ego. They never contributed much more to the show than that. It is a shame Artie tried to take his life but he's not really that talented. He may be an okay supporting actor but funny? Not so much.

He quite frankly is an eloquent speaker and has a great vocabulary. He's a mean nasty drunk with a coke and heroin problem which makes his material subject to whether it has any value, but if you dont like a show, turn it off. Artie obviously doesn't think being famous makes him a great person or he probably wouldn't try to off himself.

All had their demons. All died too young. Artie isn't anywhere in their league. And Howard is always laughing at other people who die or have pain in their lives and suddenly when someone close to him almost dies he gets all sad and grim, if it was anyone else he'd be cracking jokes about it.

@007feedback I don't miss Artie. Nothing to do with his suicide attempt, I take no joy in that. This is just my opinion of his contribution to the show. He was overbearing (It's the Howard Stern show) and that gravely voice, from years of abuse, was tough to listen to. So the show is better without him. Too bad this is how he left.

I remember when they had Suzanne Sommers on the show and she had just written a book, and they were all making fun of her writing a book. Artie says, in the background, " I read Joyce DeWitt's book- How to disappear!" I fell off my chair laughing. Artie is a natural talent and I hope he gets better and I hope to hear him on the show in the future when he puts his demons behind him. :)
