fire trucks slow getting there cuz people like you wont get out the way. always remember pull to the right when emergency vehickles are coming up allow them to pass without needing to slow down. in this video i see nothing that went wrong, fire was not that big looking at the smoke the fire dept got there early as they possibly could and looks as they got the fire under control in a respectfull time.
@ TheWeynolds I'm guessing you aren't a Firefighter then. There are many things that are needed for an interior attack ( attacking the fire) to begin that you may not know the conditions may not be safe for attacking the fire
@ EvilProdigy22 If you were with LAFD you of all people should understand this. Every member of the fire service is your Brother or Sister. It doesn't matter if they are Career, Paid On Call or Volunteer. We all do the same job. I learned that the hard way when I earned my place in my dept. It took close to a year for people to actually go and talk to me before I proved I was as good as any of them. It could be a Volly pulling your ass out of a flash someday. Stay Safe
This video sucks, you were there before any fire or police got there and you stay as far as you can get and then you move so you cant even see the fire any more. Im not saying go into the scene but get some footage worth posting.
@bobsirebob- Different departments do things differently, its not one way and one way only. theres the national starnard and then your dept. standard. Even you should know that if your a career firefighter. If your a Volly then you really shouldnt be talking. - Los Angeles City Fire. House 90
Y'all fellers need ta go help out and volunteer instead of monday morning quaterbacking the fire department. Y'all have no ideer wat itz like on the other side of the camera. FYI, I did not miss spell anything, that is my hillbilly slang so you could understand me better.
The engine crews got there pretty quick actually. The 911 system takes a little less then 5 min to get the info, find out what dept and engines to dispatch and then dispatch them. the dispatch takes around a min pending on the info that the dispatcher is giving. then the FD has 1 min to get dressed in turnouts and go responding. Then theres a estimated 5 min or less response time. so your looking at it taking around 10-15 min or less for a engine or box(ambulance) to show up. From NYFD
@mikeohoh7 i'd say if they got it out quick and didnt waste time, like a lot of these fire videos where the FFs are just walking around not putting water on the fire and letting it spread.. We had 2 fires across my street right next to each other (within 2 months) and our fire dept wasted no time at all and knocked em out within 5 minutes. Those were house fires that DIDNT go wrong
@TheWaynelds this fire looks like it didnt go wrong aswell. its a commercial building with unknown contents(No Haz-Mat Placards Present). theres not immediate exposures. There are firefighters standing around bc some of our orders are RIC(Rapid Intervention Crew) who stands outside and only becomes active if a firefighter goes down. plus the BC/IC cant stick 10 guys on one line just bc theres nothing for them to do at the moment.
@EvilProdigy22 you wait for your RIC to assemble, don't take 2nd lines to the rear, and don't do searches in front of a hoseline? There is never any reason to stand around at a fire scene. Slower pace of life down south...(and it is FDNY not NYFD)
@sbfdman hey, if my house ever burned down and some one recorded it, they better gosh damn well give it a "politically correct" title or ill be pissed.
I remember that I was making jokes like "It looks like they had there Fire sale in time for Valentines Day" it was kind of ironic for a flower shop catch on fire just a few days before valentines day.
This video ought to be called "Video gone wrong". You got more video of the inside of the car and your fingers than you do of the fire. And it's obviously not a house, nor has anything gone wrong other than a fire starting as far as you can tell.
The EMS units are typical response for structure fires in case a firefighter gets injured. If there was anyone inside you would have known right away as PD would be trying to get in for a rescue.
fire was also knocked down at 5:30 seconds into the video. i say they did good.
