The Code You Written For The Password Char Was Correct You Put It Under The Button. If You Would Have Put It Under Form Load The Password Char Would Have Been Set As Soon As You Opened The Program. The Way You Had It You Would Have Had To Click The Button To Set It :D.

@rdt1970 you could start with VB, but it will be easier if you have a little basic knowledge prior to learning, as there's a lot of fundamental stuff I don't explain in the VB tuts that are in the other basic tuts.

Just to say, and maybe you already found it out,,, you dont have to mess up with ASCII or anything for PasswordChar,, you just need to add that part of code in Form_Load instead of Command1_Click :).

I don't think you should waste your time on VB6, switch to VB.NET (or C#.NET which I personally prefer).

Your code for the passwordchar was right. You just had to click the command button before typing so that it changes the value of PasswordChar.
