@stevechen1991 showtime lakers were known for their fastbreak offense, but their defense was VERY underrated. With the best shotblocker at the time and arguably in the history of the game, Abdul-Jabbar, and Cooper's exceptional perimeter defense, they didn't need every man on the floor to play the best defense. In the history of the game, majority of championships were won by teams that were above average on defense. It's not often a bad defensive team plays "great" defense at the right time.
