  • Haha 02:12 Even squirrel gets in tune !

  • really nice to see this.. I wish you asked about his choice of equipment & harp/uke playing. What kind of uke is that?

  • Greetings from Valencia-Spain Madcat...it was a good time to meet you!

    Danny Boy

  • I want a candoline

  • Peter Madcat Ruth is the best. He will be in Doylestown, PA this spring. That is 120 miles away and tickets are $60. I think I will try to make the trip despite the cost.

  • Madcat is simply amazing. Great interview. Thanks!

  • he sure is! and a great guy too...

    thank you!

  • Madcat is by far my favorite harmonica virtuoso and multi-instrumentalist. His video "The in's and out's of rhythm harmonica" is a constant source of inspiration to me. Thanks again for sharing. Have you had a chance to meet with Aldrine Guerrero in Hawaii? Aldrine is amazing and he is also Jake Shimabukuro's protege.

  • hi there... Madcat's the best!

we haven't met Aldrine, though we know of him and agree he's amazing, and so is the UkuleleUnderground website and forum he started

  • I'm glad that you've heard of Aldrine. He's an amazing composer and player.

  • My name is Peter Madcat Ruth and I approve of this video!

  • Far out

  • It is nice blues ,nice work, keep up the good staff ,men....thanks

  • no video

  • Thanks for bringing the madcat to us. And the heavenly blue sky in the back ground looks great!

  • I remember "500 Miles" from the soft ballad sung by Peter, Paul and Mary--Madcat's version is inspired! I'm in that boxcar, watching the telephone poles and farms streak past. Thanks!

  • So easy to tell the amateurs from the professionals...MadCat"ROCKS"!!!

  • Watching this clip again...I just can't believe how easy and fluidly,Madcat can create two different time signatures...I've been playing guitar for well over fifteen years now,and still,I'm not even close to being able to accomplish this...Not only does he do this remarkable feat so easily...He also sings over the top of it all aswell.I guess it's things like this, that make Madcat a professional, and me an amateur...I guess you could call it...

Separating the men from the boys!!!

  • This is very laid back...Ive got old record lps of him going off totally electric...doing funk style off the charts...secret sauce!

  • You are mysteriously drawn to the Pacific Northwest...you are powerless against this compulsion...The Emerald City...Puddletown...the Glories of Spring....we all await

  • You are terrible!! Because three kinds of musical instruments can be played at a time, I respect you.

  • I agree, the madcat does more than he really should but that secret sauce tastes sooo goood!

  • Love, love, love the reaction shot of the squirrel. These are great, can't wait for the next adventure!

  • Wow, what a great blues ukulele!

    Thanks men!

  • Awesom blues feeling!

  • Wonderful--and I started play uke at eleven, too--just didn't turn out the same way :(

  • Where is next? I am looking forward to it.

  • The binder clip to hold the harmonica is such a great idea!

  • I like his version of that song better than any other I've ever heard!

  • Really interesting interview. Thanks. KEN.

  • Great episode! Fantastic uke version of Phonograph Blues!

  • I was very interested in madcat...I am planning to play the harmonica...Thanks for posting madcat's multitasking video.

    max

  • Fantastic! Some stuff I've never seen before... that harmonica holder, the percussion instrument, the can-do-lin.... Great episode on the safari!

  • Inspirational! Thanks so much for sharing!

  • Excellent playing. Whoa. How the heck does he play in two different time signatures? O.O

    Miss you guys.
