  • Let's.

  • @danihc Yoooou.

  • Two points when I hear Christians babble on about marrage.

    1) Marriage wasn't a favorable concept in early christianity.

    2) Marriage isn't a Christian concept, or even a religious concept. It existed in pre Abrahamic times.

So when religion brings up all this fuss around marriage, whether it's same sex marriage, or sex outside marriage. I just laugh at their ignorance.

  • What i'm trying to say is that when you see these big shot Christians idiots and then seeing Jesus camp and thinking "Wow i hate these people". I'm completely fine with that but i'm mad when you see that and say all pf us baptists and Methodists are them that's where i think things are wrong here because lots of us are smart people and nice ones too we help people any way we can christian or not! and then we have those idiots that yell "YUR GOING TO HELL" to everyone they meet and we hate them

  • Another rational (and fine) video from GrapplingIgnorance. Keep them coming.

  • Please can you check out 'ppsimmons' on YouTube as I would love to hear your views on this idiots teachings..Meridionfrost brought him to my attention the other day.

  • Amen! Out of all the optional pain that Catholicism has caused me, the extreme guilt that I experienced due to masturbation and pre-marital sex is BY FAR the worst. This guilt was so deeply ingrained in me that even after I was absolutely sure that Christianity was a crock (and religion in general) I still experienced residual guilt.

  • Watched the video in your description box, that person is very very emotionally confused. If he was educated in high school about sex his perspective on it wouldn't be as it is now.

  • sex between TWENTY consenting adults does no harm!

  • I guess it's like the Jesus story; Christians HAVE to believe it actually happened, but only so that they can teach children about it; all that really matters is that 'the moral' is true, but human intellect is too closely related to monkey-mind to separate moral truth from physical truth.

I guess that that 'lack of separation' overflows to sexual behavior. "Christianity" MEANS "of the Anointed One and His Anointing." Being 'Anointed' is being 'specially-chosen' by the Anoint-er, husband or wife

  • your blacked out face and hood make you look like a sith lord, my lord (c=

  • Have some really strict religious people in my family that of course are afraid of sex, but they also are absurdly dramatic about it. Watching anything on TV that has even a remote sexual undertone is met with gasps and scowls. Seeing someone naked you would think they were going to have a stroke. I don't think people like that have any chance, and their kids are pretty much fucked too. Education in schools MIGHT help their kids, but they are so shamed it might not matter.

  • I've never been able to hear derisive quotation marks quite so clearly before. XD

  • yay education

  • I really like the idea that in the evangelical areas where contraception is so heavily frowned upon there is a higher rate of sodomy. "hey church you can stop my boyfriend from using a condom through social mass manipulation but you cant stop me from letting him have my black cherry,"

  • @frididjurhuus Welcome back. You have some catching up to do- there are over 100 videos on this channel.

  • Slight correction: it wasn't using sexuality as a selling point for marrying daughters off that made this taboo useful back in the day. As far as I'm concerned, the taboo against premarital sex was useful up until the invention of the condom. Until then, it was the best way to prevent unwanted pregnancies and the spread of STIs.

  • @finalsmasher This isn't a matter of correction, as my suggestion was just a proposed possible explanation in the context of that time, it was not espoused as a fact. There can also be multiple purposes that something is done, such as the intention of preventing STI's, and raising the bargaining stakes for fathers. Both of those are reasonable purposes for the requirement of withholding sex until after marriage.

  • @finalsmasher "...it was the best way to prevent unwanted pregnancies and the spread of STIs."

That might be a reasonable thing to say if germ theory was thousands of years old.

  • Can't put into words what I think. I was raised a JW...... so you get it. Religion has wrecked more healthy sex lives then can be counted.

  • Did the grim reaper just teach me about sex?

  • Epic video

  • Edjamacasiun is da key.

  • Ya that guy doing the poetry is definitely a douchebag, I watched that vid yesterday.

I wouldn't say that consensual sex is not only affecting the two parties involved, tho, it can, but does not always, affect a lot of people. Just one example, I'm stuck going to niece and nephew b-day parties all the time cuz my relatives can't keep their pants on. :/

  • @l337pwnage Of course sex affects more than just those two people, but that doesn't make the sexuality of those two people anyone else's concern barring a sever population epidemic, in which case, I still hold to the concept of educating people on the affects their actions have, and convincing them to make more informed and responsible decisions, rather than forcing them to do so.

  • @l337pwnage Apparently all logic goes out the window when you're 'condemned' to share your body with your spouse.

'The best population-control starts in the bedroom; but the EASIEST population-control ... I can't even think clearly about, but I'm sure it involves FIRE!'

You know the population hovered comfortably around 100,000 until a few decades ago, and now it's up to 6 BILLION; "somebody had to be sittin on a lap in there!" (J Foxworthy, on the overcrowded school-bus that went off the cliff)

  • Well said GI.

    All love and respect

  • Get off of Jeff nuts bro!!

  • Dude, the religios right doesn't want independent educated adults, they want people who obey them. That's why they're into scaretactics and inciting guilt trips. But ofcourse you already know this :)

  • Wait a second wait a second you want to give young people access to knowledge and an education? BLASPHEMY !!!!! XD LOLZ

  • well done, looks like youtube has become the new temple of knowledge..

  • Indeed ★★★★★

  • My wife and I both fap to your videos. We love you.

  • @OneClownShoe Ummm thanks?

  • you should seriously turn advertisements off on your videos i'm really tired of seeing mormon ads tarnishing your brilliant logic.

  • @bigbadronin AdBlock.

  • thanks guys i like my atheism without a side of religious stupidity

    @ TehDeminz

    @xjedixwarriorx

  • @bigbadronin There's an add block program you can get that eliminates all that stuff. I have it on my computer and I haven't seen an add on youtube since. It is wonderful.

  • @bigbadronin I don't see how a Mormon ad tarnishes the logic presented in a video. If religious people want to spend money to have their ads on videos that point out how ridiculous their religions are, then they can be my guests!

  • @GrapplingIgnorance it's kinda like someone going on a vegan rant and before hand an ad for a steakhouse pops up. its an unintentional contradiction.

  • @bigbadronin

If you don't like them don't pay attention to them.

  • @bigbadronin If you're using Firefox, download the add-on "Adblock Plus" and you'll never see another ad. I think it's also available for Chrome. :)

Though I don't see those ads (poor me), I share GI's feelings about how religious nutjobs wanna waste their money. :P

  • @bigbadronin It's only the religious who are afraid to have opposing viewpoints alongside their own.

Ads are what make YouTube possible. I only object to their popping up ads while the video is running; that is a desecration of the art.

  • Loved the whole video, but the last sentence was especially good. A nice finish to a nice rant. Well done my good sir !

  • 10/10

  • You said it better than I ever could. Although for some reason, teaching kids about sex education properly instead the religious pseudo-education hasn't been very effective here in the UK. For some reasons, so many teens still think "Sod what the NHS and what most medical experts are recommending. It won't happen to me." -_-

  • Dear Mr. Grappeling. I agree. End of comment.

  • I think what made me the most irate about the poem this links to his his understanding why rape is bad. He has obviously has never talk to a woman that has ben raped or he would never say something so obscene.

  • What is strange is that I as a virgin still feel guilty. Especially when I am reminded of femenism in tandum with sex. Thought crime sucks but I don't wish to be sexist.

  • @GingerAtheist Being attracted to women doesn't make you a sexist.

  • @Digityus it's def a defense mechanism as what I have witnessed. They when reality hits them psychologically, knowing they are wrong, it all adds up and breaks them down mentally because they question God with no answers from him. It happened to my ex-wife 2 times already. It's a shame.

  • talk about islam

  • @VortexICX That's random.

  • it is very damaging how religion would shame a very natural feeling that we all go through. sex is very important to all life on this earth and suppressing it could make some go insane. the church should at least say: well the best love you can make is the love you make to yourself, and Jesus is there cheering you on all the way.

  • @MsRobotRock No I'm going to feel like Jesus is watching me from behind a cloud the next time I touch myself... what a creep!

  • i will not comment on the "you know what",but now that we stand as equals do u have a wider perspective on the matter?

    just admit i was right!!!!

    i need it damn it

    <3

  • @christine13black I don't consider us any more equal on the matter than before, and I would have held the same stance that I presented in this video a year ago.

  • You are too good! Wright a book, get rich and come out from this fucking opressive state of hiding your face to express yourself...

  • @nogodforjoy

Alright. Let's say he does that. Who the fuck will change the fucked up system and who will save future generations from being retarded? GI is a teacher and I have a tremendous amount of respect for him because of that. He's the true American hero.

  • just go out and kill, steal and fuck the fuck out of everybody you like, then go and ask for gods forgiveness, solved. isn't religion great :D

  • @goreziad Worked for that bball kid, apparently without that sickening book, he didn't have a clue about how to be a decent human being, that says more about him than it does about his bronze-age myth.

  • @goreziad Damn it, why do people always think it's like that? I'm sick and tired of people acting like that's how it works but you need to be HONEST ABOUT IT! if you did that and asked for forgiveness and didn't even mean it that means nothing. Also if you haven't noticed it's against the Bible to kill people! and don't give me that "what about the crusades?" crap, Catholics are NOT Christians! I hate it when they mix us in with Catholics all the time like we are all the same.

  • @MrDavianthule123 you can't defend the bible, just stop trying :)

  • @goreziad Perhaps you forgot that there are idiots in every group and all of these people that are being idiots are a product of the chance factor considering that over 80% of people in America are christian there would be more idiots like bball1989! of course i see your point that most religions are stupid when they say stuff like "we are good hearted men and women helping god" and then doing horrible things and then we call them out only for them to clam "we can't do anything wrong"

  • @MrDavianthule123 "Catholics are NOT Christians"

Understand that all other denominations are committing the same fallacy of "we're the real ones, the others are doing it wrong."

  • Oh no, you said the E-word... Now Christians really wants your head. Education... Blasphemy!

  • Abstinence is stupid and fucked up, philosophy, I remember when my high school teacher told students to practice abstinence. abstinence is like fasting, except after fasting you have to eat. Religious people and their weird rules.

  • Very good video. All of your videos are good. Articulate and well researched every time, keep up the good work!

  • I always wondered where religious people got off saying we need to read their scriptures in an ancient context while saying that they were the ultimate authority for proper modern living. How does that line of reasoning work?

  • @Antimoronic It doesn't.

  • @Stigmatibus All right, fair enough, I'm having trouble finding any particular old testament law that commands you to wash your hands before eating. By, the way, did you catch the part in Mark 7:15 where Jesus condemns the pharisees for washing their hands in accordance with their own customs, but refusing to murder children in accordance with God's law? One seems more serious to me than the other.

  • @Argent108 Sorry, I meant Mark 7:10.

  • @Stigmatibus Matthew 5:17, 18 -- Think not that I have come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until Heaven and Earth have passed, not one jot or tittle shall pass from the law.

  • You having sex means you sleep better and are generally less repressed and more cheerful.

And when you are less depressed, you buy less prozak, which harms the anti-depressant industry.

When you sleep better, you hurt the sleep medicine and matress industry.

When you are more cheerful and spread that feeling, you undermine the fear of God in others, undermining religion.

And when you're less irritable, you injure less people, which harms the medical sector.

    There, sex is very bad.

  • Oh fuck, that video has over 2 000 000 views too, and he talks about magic man creating sex, sin and other such baseless nonsense.

I think I highly overestimated the uniqueness of humans, it's just a semi-rational animal which is plied by any random old shit.

  • Shall we ever see the man behind the hood?

  • @masterspawn200 Not until he retires from his teaching job

  • @masterspawn200

    You mean again?

  • The last thing the leaders of all the various religions want is for us to educate our children. They might actually learn to think for themselves. Imagine if our kids could actually use reason to weigh evidence and facts against myths and dogma? The horror! The horror!

  • I just listened to the poem. I thought it was kinda cool. I dug what he said. Couldn't relate to the Jesus stuff, tho.

  • I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you over the sound of how awesome you are.

  • True Story. The ´hottest chick´ when I was teenaged sat across me 3 Paris meters away from me, and YEAH in summertime when she wore had a small skirt I DID see it all. I never did anything, biology made me one of these noob teengagers Disney channel nowadays promotes so eagerly. Several years later though I caught up on her. She was ugly. Lost all her flair from before. 20 years later though, I caught up with her again. She looks fine again. Nature works in mysterious ways!

  • Damn, that was well-said.

  • What of masturbation? As far as I can tell masturbation is harmless, having zero chance to get anyone sick or pregnant, yet is looked down upon by Bible-thumpers. I've haven't seen one shred of evidence of it corrupting anyone (I'm sure it may be out there, but I haven't seen it personally). Your opinion, sir?

  • @rpm297

If god thought masturbation was bad, why did he make the hand feel good?

    lol

  • @rpm297 I see nothing harmful about it either.

  • Great video as usual, GI. :D

  • Education! Education! Education!--will set you free. Dogma never will

  • So, is it a, 'Poem', or is it not, a 'Poem'?

I think it's a poem, but maybe the 'quoting' of it, just referred to his dislike of it.

Good video though. I think sex has become so absurdly taboo in America, due to religion, media, the government and ppl, that we have stupid social norms like this...

    MEN

    -Must approach the woman

-Must ask for a date (court the woman/spend money and do other things they don't want in the hopes of getting what they want)

    WOMEN

    -Must look good

    -But be allusive

  • @shabido1 I put that in air quotes, because I consider it insulting to the label of "poetry" to include his sorry excuses of poems into its ranks. Though a shitty poem is still a poem.

  • @GrapplingIgnorance It is all relative, but of course I knew you knew it was a poem, just being dumb.

  • @shabido1 I find the "dating game" so annoying. Why shouldn't we just be ourselves and stop trying to impress people? I'm not going to wear make up and push up bras to attract someone. Eventually, they're going to have to see who I really am, so why pretend? If I like a guy, I'm not going to wait for him to ask me out. And I take guys on dates sometimes. It shouldn't be set in stone who pays. It should be who wants to treat who when. Dating rules are stupid.

  • @xjedixwarriorx

You are a my kind of girl. I'm sick and tired of shallow women (and men) obsessing over makeup, pushup bras and that sort of crap.

You have a sexy brain. Will you internet-marry me?

  • @d3st88 Lol. Thank you. I am already in a relationship, but I accept the compliment of being proposed to by someone intelligent enough to watch GrapplingIgnorance's videos.

  • @xjedixwarriorx OMG you're the greatest women ever if you mean that.

Men go after these fake women with the most makeup, tightest clothes, and most cleavage.

Women go after the best dressed, nicest car having, guy who flirts with them the most.

Sex and money, money and sex.

    What about a human connection?

Sex is part of that, but not the whole thing.

  • @shabido1 I sincerely mean that. I couldn't agree more. The people who go for me are usually geeks that are socially awkward and don't fit the cultural perception of attractiveness. They seem so shocked that I prefer them, but I prefer them because they get who I am and we can talk for hours about stuff no one else cares about. Looks fade, but a good brain lasts a lot longer.

  • @xjedixwarriorx Well I think we all have a good brain, few of us just care to use most of it. I also think most women are attractive, but out of the available ones, they typically fall into the category 'think they're too good' and/or 'don't think they're good enough' to approach me or vice versa.

I don't drink, go to clubs, or like dating so I don't mind too much, but still imagine a world where two people could just be people without prejudice or expectations.

  • I wish I could click the "Like" button more than once.

  • Come on GI we can't expect the religious to accept education and dismissing old law, if we do that then they might stop making excuses for God and start looking at the evidence against his existence and very nature and if that happens then they might become some kind of dirty Athiest that uses rationality and logic to live their lives and treat others well instead of what is clearly a perfect book despite it's flaws, contradictions, plot holes and so on and so forth... ya know... perfect.

  • @Digityus your so right. It really amazed me how immoral these people were.

  • @Livelife8072 I really think it's a defense mechanism. Or some sort of ego protection mechanism. A lot of people lash out when they can't come to terms with their own behavior. It's called projection.

  • I love your videos. Just... yeah. So damn true.

  • Has someone been getting some lately? ;D

  • @tamc1337 I would hope that somewhere in the world, somebody has.

  • @GrapplingIgnorance Could that somewhere possibly be eastern south-central USA and that person be a respected and well-known YouTube user?

  • @tamc1337 i will be getting some later in fact

  • My born again ex-wife was called a slut by her parents when she was having sex with me as she was still going through her first divorce. Stating she was lusting after me, which god condemned. She was a sinner and needed to repent. Lmao. I have a series on it. Pretty sick people these Born Agains! What parent calls their daughter a slut? Her parents are pastors also. Figure that one out. Pretty harsh words to say to your daughter and mean it.

  • @Livelife8072 And religious people ask us where we get morals from. LMAO, greatest double standard in the universe.

  • How dare you suggest to educate people about something they should irrationally fear! Rabble rabble shame, what are you a teacher or something?

    lol...

  • @dmoney69696969 let's try that again. Strictly speaking, it's not an ad hom; he said nothing about you or your character, besides "kid," which is generally not a pejorative. Thanks for playing, kid.

  • I could not agree with you more.

  • i'm a non-religious ascetic, i don't condemnt sex, i just find everything around it to be a huge waste of time, AND i don't get to be tugged by the balls to female whimsies.

  • @dmoney6969 Strictly speaking, it

  • religion turns girls dirty.. nom nom nom

  • Hmm, interesting.

If I was the King of all humanity I would make the age of consent 15, you could fuck, smoke, drink, etc, AND, manditory military service (5 Years.. It would bond everyone I think even if there was no one to fight.

Also, I would make birth control manditory and also I would make parent testing manditory in order to have the PRIVILEGE to have a child.

I dunno, it just seems like (R) don;t focus on real change and neither to (D).

We need a good old fashion Genocide.

  • I too have noticed the irony of religious people defending the Bible/Quran on the grounds that they were written in a diffrent time and place. If that is the case how can they act as an infailable moral guide for people today?

  • @Skepticktok Eeeexactly.

  • Great video as always. As to the Christian, religion hater I already had enough of him, he blocked the comments to his video after people started giving him shit about it. I made a little poem of my own in response to that. Thumbs up on your video.

  • Wow! You look good, did you do something with your hair? Anyways, great video as always.

  • @bornagain001 Then why wasting your time commenting

  • @akumaten ...trying to warn others. Kind of like telling your friends not to waste their money on a movie that sucks. Same thing.

  • @bornagain001 Seriously. Those are 4 minutes, 37 seconds you could have spent wishing to god and jacking off to Jesus. If only you hadn't been forced to watch this video in it's entirety, taking away your precious, precious time.

  • @bornagain001 0/10

  • @bornagain001 Would have been far more productive to explain why. For the record, a waste of your time doesn't automatically mean a waste of everyone else's.

  • @GrapplingIgnorance If I didn't believe you were a teacher, I do now xD

  • @bornagain001 you are a joke

  • There is no justification for the bible's treatment of women - but, I do think said education, should still discourage permiscuity with strangers.

Not sex in general, not sex with a familiar partner, but sex with random partners, especially in multiples. Fuck-budies, at least you can have a good idea of who they've been with, and how likely it is that they are telling the truth of when they were last tested. With a stranger this is not so.

    But ... that's my one conservative-esque opinion. <.<

  • I like to stick it in her butt.

  • SEX IS AWESOME. FUCK ANYONE THAT TELLS YOU DIFFERENTLY!!!!, but not literally. ITS YOUR BODY DO WHAT YOU WANT WITH IT!!!

  • It's hard to convince people they are miserable fallen sinners living in a miserable fallen world when they are having a great time engaging in sex, drugs, and rock n roll.

  • God HATES sex....act of the sodomite damned. The fag infested land of sex is burning, the fire of God's wrath is sending hundreds of those filthy fag-infested beasts straight to hell! We at Westboro Baptist Church are rejoicing and we are praying for the Dear Lord to burn many more fags alive. We have warned fags in retaliation for our faithful gospel preaching. When the fag-infested actor Heath Ledger died fags vilified us!

  • @PompousPreacher You're being sarcastic right? I really hope so....

  • @happyraver1958 um, yeah PAL.

  • @PompousPreacher I should have visited your YouTube page before commenting, sorry.

  • brilliant. well articulated dude.

  • Theres also this weird thing that has translated into censorship as well, where sex is bad,but violence is a ok.I hate that stupidity so much.

  • Seeing as how right wing christians have a hard time following their own examples. I really doubt a rapist would be better off under a right wing christian teaching. Probably become worse and claim he's going to heaven after he excepted Jesus into his heart. Might even become the head of a church.

  • @slicingwater I was thinking the other day that it's strange how the porn industry is a multi-billion industry (larger revenues than Microsoft, Google, Amazon, eBay, Yahoo, Apple and Netflix combined) in the US when most people here in the US claim to believe in god and/or be christian. I guess we shouldn't have sex before marriage, but we most definitely spend a big fortune on masturbation!! Which the preachers condemn as well. What a bunch of hypocrites !!

  • And Remember kids, no matter what...Goat Boy will always love you! hurhurhurhurhurhurhurhur

  • You mentioned, "both genders full rights over their own bodies".

It seems that many religitards do not want to allow us, but women especially, rights over their own bodies. Rather they want women to be quiet, subservient, ignorant and to stay at home to cook and raise, several, children.

  • @PerthPete1 Of course they don't, which is obviously something I disagree with.

  • LOL awesome sauce bro.Honestly I dont see sexuality as something to be thrown around, but should not be made taboo by bronze aged dogma.

  • "Puritanism - the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy." -- H.L. Mencken

  • As a young adult i recently had sex for the first time, it was awesome, and no guilt afterwards. I dont get why that second part is so difficult, i know the religious use sexuality as a means of control (thank you george orwell for that insight) but it is the most natural thing in the world.

  • @deathman1021 might have something to do with La petite mort

  • If we don't make people feel dirty and wrong for their natural and innocuous desires, how are we supposed to manipulate them with guilt later? We can't make people grateful for our forgiveness if'n we don't first make them ashamed of their perfectly normal biological impulses. I don't see you proposing a better manipulative cognitive-control paradigm, Mr. Smarty Pants. Do you want a bunch of "thinkers" roaming around unchecked? Seems dangerous to me.

  • @Snakepliskinist Bingo.

  • @Snakepliskinist I just have to say, not only is this an great response, your user name is awesome as well.

  • The thought of equating guilt with sex is riduculous to me. Guilty Pleassure is an oximoron. Why not feel guilty eating, drinking, sleeping, working, ect.? Most people laugh at sex jokes but feeling guilty over sexuality is the funniest of them all.

  • Education?!?!?!

That there my friend is heresy!

  • that guy in the other video is a hipster douche

  • YOU for President! YOU for President! Thanks for existing. Please continue.

  • @lancethrustworthy Thanks, but I'm far too honest to get into politics.

  • Even the "not killing people" is taken out of context, the people of that particular time and place only valued the life of those within their particular "club". This explains the contradictions of "Thou shalt not kill" and "Put adulterers, people who work on the Sabbath, and idolaters to death".

  • GI made a funny!

  • Yes, let's.

  • This lewd whore monger agrees.

  • Ugh I went to watch that video and it's shocking that it has over forty thousand likes.. I mean seriously, he's ignorant of so much it's sickening.

  • @BeardedBill86 That just means he has four -very- dedicated fans. Heh.

  • @BeardedBill86 Sorry, me and my beard have to disagree.

  • I sense that you do dislike this person. I do agree. but, kids are to dumb to really know what is good for them at a young age they just go with what everyone is doing and how good something feels they don't care about repercussions in the future. im not to old not to young but i do have common sense i will have sex one day most likley before im married, but it will be safe. I will have a kid when things are stabled in my life. I dont know why i wrote this. Just felt like it

  • @Fr33FIight

That is not totally true, some children are smarter than most adults.

Also just educate about safe sex (ie: condoms pills etc.) and they will be fine.

  • @ArsonistInUrFirewall

Haven't you heard? Condoms are worse than ades now.

  • @Fr33FIight

It's Naive to assume everything will go according to plan. Also, kids aren't that dumb and they're not all the same. They do need to be educated on safe sex, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they will inately make the wrong decisions.

  • Sometimes I wish I was god, that way I could watch everyone 'doing it'. Oh wait, I would get desensitized to sex before long and not have any interest in the act. Nevermind, I will just let god watch. What a sick fuck.

  • yes please you sexy silhouette! ;P
