It is not a myth. Just because it's just a recon plane that doesn't fight doesn't mean it's not in the game.

Start Mission#8, and don't change the lock of your target, as you'll already be locked on to the SR-71. It flies at around 40,000 feet and at very high speeds. However, it only flies around the battle zone. It does not attack you. But it does give you plenty of points.

Get your facts straight. You just made a fool out of yourself by assuming facts rather than confirming them.

Yes i did. I swat that SR-71 by going fast and going above 30,000 ft. at the begining of the mission. i shot it down 338 times with any plane with XLAAs or XMAAs and still not tired of shooting it. but my favorite plane is the X-02.. it's the best plane for the job!!!
