That is a vacuum gauge, it is invaluable for setting up the engine/prop' combination, and gives a much better indication of engine loading during the cruise. You will see it at zero most of the time while I am aerobating as the throttle is wide open most of the time.
Good flying mate...amazing what you can do with 1800cc and a good design! I've been bashing Cessna 152s and Robins around the sky for a few years now and am lookin to upgrade :)
Thanks, I wouldn't say I am any good, but the Nipper is an excellent mount to practice.......3gals of mogas/hr. +4-2 g is the limit, and I find no need to pull/push any more than that.
Good luck with the aero's. I have found Alan Cassidy's book "Better Aerobatics" to be invaluable.
