You wanna get your hands on this whole show? I have over 200 Prince dvds and cds of concerts,tv appearances, music videos, unaired footage, unreleased songs, interviews, etc. If you'd like my full Prince list of items, and would like 2 get your hands on some of this stuff, send me a message with your email address.
love his performances i'm sooooo certain that i should have been born in the 60's and not the 90's so i could experience this when it was actually happening.
Ilke this Version more than The One before it(The one where Primce is wearing the stretch leggings Dirty Mind era). Especially The Intro......The drum Role and Prince's Trademark "Al waah"!!!
this footage reminds me that Prince at this time was in a class by himself. yep he clearly was influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Sly Stallone, G. Clinton, P Funk & of course James Brown but he put his own stank on things & couldn't nobody say anything. He seemed so spontaneous but we all know that prince leaves nothing to chance. His genuis is making it look so spur of the moment & raw.
i would like to ask a question, do we ever get to old to rock like this, cuz this guy is simply incredible, simply for the ages. he can rock it now as then
@KevFromHouston I was at this show too, one hell of a show, The Time brought it that night. This was the Controversy Tour, the way Prince started the show with Controversy was Epic. I think these were Princes best years 1979-1985
@SongsMikelikes Mike, I remember that night like it was yesterday. We can't forget about Roger Troutman and Zapp. Roger did his thing too. The security guy at The Summit let me and my dad on the floor right when Prince was stroking/licking the neck of his guitar on the speaker (performing the song Head). Show was off the chain.
he never does the same song the same way! there's always a change up even to this day! i love that he mixed in his normal voice with his falsetto! so fun to see these rare gems! you're killin me here with all these that you have and post (*huge jealousy*) lol ty!!
@bonkay46 - That's just one of the reasons why I preferred Prince to MJ. When MJ hits the stage you know exactly what dance moves and skit he would do for each song. That became to predictable for me. Prince changes everything each time. The stage show, the music, everything... Pure genius.
@ajahni -yeah, you mean do dance moves that not many people could do!! LOL You insult a genius performer like MJ, you crazy. I could expect a lot of AWWWWOHHH screaming from Prince if that's what you call switching it up!! LMAO!!
@tubucoco prince was the 80's equivalent of the beatles (as was david bowie in the 70's). always experimenting and evolving . michael jackson was the 80's equivalent of elvis, a devolving parody of his earlier self.
@briney1973 -I'll buy that! Both were extremely talented artists and genius at what they did! They were just totally different at what they did! Prince being the masterful musician and MJ the consummate entertainer, but for some to say on here Prince was the better dancer, I say no way! Prince was a good dancer, but MJ was capable of doing mindblowin stuff and did a lot of times!
