@Ulquiorra4163 I agree completely with you, Apaches don't look that partically attractive but when your knee deep in shit there more beautiful then a siren's song. ( Oh and by the way I'm in the marines that's why I mentioned the siren)
This was probably the most tense part of a game I've ever played. Not tense in knowing something might jump out at you at any moment, but tense knowing you can't win. It's like you're just fighting for as long as you can before you finally die.
i remember this part. even though it was only a game, i still felt that horrific sense of dread when i heard the order to hold of the ground support. out of shotgun ammo, 2 and a half left for my SAW (which i put every round into the enemy), then only my M9. i actually dropped my controller in joyful relief when i saw those beautiful apaches save my ass, god that's how u make a game
i did the same thing when he said hole off the air support, but i didnt come close to going out of ammo for the SAW, i think i had like 500 left when the apaches arrived
@TerraZet Call of duty can not be compared to this game COD seems like a hollywood film this seems like im really there in the action and fighting on those mountains and yes EA danger Close and DICE are thinking of making a sequel too this game
As the old saying goes: War does not determine who is right, only who is left.
I fully support the U.S. military and their valiant efforts, but this is a war that will see no end. This isn't some rebel group we are fighting. This is a multi-national terrorist organization.
@ 2:04, I do recall hearing this segment of the song in Battle:LA. If it is a true reference to said movie, then i'd have to say that it was quite fitting and epic for the developers to place it in that one part where Adams helps his squad fend off against Taliban insurgents. Quite epic anyways.... :)
love this game love this part :D when the music started playing in the background i was like : "Hell i take as many as i can with me" :) this has something in it what i missed from FPS games since COD4 and maybe cod 6 had some great moments but this game is a GREAT moment by itself :) LOVE IT MOHT1 FTW!!! (((((SPOILER)))))) RIP rabbit (((((((SPOILER)))))))
This part of the mission is just amazing, and if u have it on the hardest level, u really have the feeling of "holy shit we're fucking dead." Every time I play this mission I get goosebumps. Very well written mission.
@SillyInfantry i was moved by this whole game. finished it 3 times and i still can't get over moments in the game... this changes my whole outlook on war
@MrDarkdog16 much agreed friend, also what really moved me was that they based the game of actual events, making what happened in the game close to what really happened in reality, showing how brave, how strong, and how commited our soldiers are over there, and few of us really see it.
Love this music...the Apaches came in right on time when we were outnumbered, and that was the moment this song came on! I was very moved and it really touched my heart, and it put a smile on my face that they saved our asses.
The feeling of victory was so great that I replayed this mission about 10 times in a row. :)
this mission was incredible! it was so well made! just getting so close to dying, out of ammo, enemies on all sides, and then BAM two apache's :P gotta love that moment of relief you feel when you see them coming in :P
i seriously stopped and looked at my screen when the one guy was calling off the support telling them good luck and its no point. i seriously thought i was gonna die and then a rocket flew by me and i turned around and said what hell exactly the same time ybarra i thinks thats the one that said it. and i said at exactly the same time
this was one of the most surprising parts of the campaing, i would never thought they would put us on that situation on the first mission, i truly felt that the rangers on the game were going to die.
This game is a true story, there were thousands of taliban in the Shai-iKot mountains, an AC-130 DID blow up their own men by accident cos there weren o IR Strobes, the rangers did insert in the wrong place and their chinook was shot down, even the ending with the rescue and losing 2 more happened.
Google/Wiki: OPERATION ANACONDA, made this game all the more emotional for me knowing it was real
In the real battle (the battle of Takur Gahr), 1 SEAL, 1 USAF CCT, 1 USAF PJ, 3 Rangers and 1 member of the 160th SOAR died. The battle has been named Robert's Ridge after the first casualty, Neil C Roberts, the SEAL member who fell from his Chinook and was later possible captured and executed by the Taliban (Rangers found his helmet with a single bullet hole through the back).
Seriously, did anyone ever expect this to happen on your first mission? Usually it's you destroying some kinda target and then be happy about it. But this mission was different. I was so surprised by it, that it actually managed to move me. And I'm not one who's hard to be moved by such thing. Especially when one of the rangers said that they should hold the support.
This game almost put me to tears, I was brought to tears in Mass Effect 2 when I first played it and Miranda died, that pissed me off into crying, this made me empathically cry. Requiscat in pace dalano (Rest in peace brother)
Such a great game! Shows the two sides of the medal, and how tough this war was, fighting fanatic enemy forces dug in the mountains, outnumbered, outgunned, but still those men did their job and managed to keep on fighting and winning their battles. May all our fallen soldiers res in peace and be remember by the people of our nation. Heroes were born and heroes died in afghanistan for our seurity, I thank them all.
@segroeg24 you know that the whole game, all the levels and that are all more or less true stories, cos EA got sum tier1 operators who had just got back from a tour of afganistan to help them write the script and make the story.
@segroeg24 they should make a movie about this.. would be a great story i think :) not that shitty world rescure stuff and nuclear bombs like fucking call of duty ^^ just a realistiv and up to date story of warfare
@segroeg24 I respect those who serve there , but I think the last thing those soldiers (any western soldiers) are dying for there is anyone security. They are dying for corrupt capitalistic interests and many countries whose troops are deployed there haven't got the slightest right to be there. I think many people there (foreing or domestic) are killed for pure nothingness.
Imagine if you were in the mountains with nothing but your Rifle and 2-3 magazines, maybe your buddy has a Rocket launcher, you haven't eaten for days.
And now imagine your enemies flying over your head, watching you from the space, throwing bombs - rockets - destroying everything. You have to hide in caves, holes.
i respect every fallen soldier, but there are always two sides you have to look at.
imagine this the same people you are talking about believed in enslaving their wives and killing innocent people that didn't believe in Islam. Thats why we are out there. although i agree with you they are humans too (unfortunately cause they act like savages) and we have to respect their dead.
They bought the War upon themselves, they should be prepared to be against one of the most well equiped Military Forces before deciding to start a War
@yuba44teach I don't wanna get Political here, but were not at War with Afghanis or Egyptians or a specific nationality. Were battling against an organised terrorist unit that operate all round the Middle East, Afghanistan being one of the most well hidden areas for the AQ. The AQ did infact start the war, it just happens to be in Afghanistan
The most well hidden area for extremism (you call them terrorists) is pakistan and saudi arabia. If the United states would really like to erase them, they have to fight them there in the Lions den. I would totally support the US. But fighting on a Battlefield called Afghanistan, wont really affect them. And the Taliban, cmon... we all know they had nothing to do with terrorist acts outside of afghanistan.
Of course they are no better. But when you want to fight against drugs, you don't fight the little dealer whos hiding in the streets,... you better fight the big mafia bosses.
@dshaw8771 haha me too man! i heard in in the mission where rabbit is on his own when he gets dumped outta the helicopter and i searched all day for that part of that song
