i think that Jack's dad and all others who died, is the enemy of jacob. He has this power to manipulate the physic form to be like anyone. But for some reason, he can't kill jacob by himself, so Benjamin was his loophole to modify the 'future'.

I think that Esau and the smokey are not the same and Esau can turn into people using the dead bodies on the island like Christian and locke(and can touch things like torches and kill people) and smokey can either turn into people but cant touch anything or just makes people see people that are not there like Yemi and Alex.

Also, Jacob asked Ilana to help him? Does this have revelance to when John Locke heard "help me" in "Jacob's" hut? Could it have been Jacob's rival in the hut asking for the help of Locke in this war?
I also want to know why "That Man" couldn't have killed Jacob there and then, when The Black Rock was shown sailing in.

She could still be alive, but I'm not sure if they'd make her fall so dramatic if she would survive it. They played that card with Jin, but I'm not sure if they'd do it again. I guess we're all just going to wait until 2010 to find out for sure.
i dont think it was the bomb, the white flash might send the survivors back into their correct time zone in the present where they will help battle jacob battle "the man"

This egyptian statue refers to an anciend god who rose from the chaos' waters and built the world.
Jacob is also a bible reference about two rival twins.

Hes inhabited Locke's body since ep. 316, He told Rich what to say to past-Locke, even to die.
