At 1st I didn't take a liking to Daniel Craig as James Bond, BUT, then after this, I just thought he was amazing! I can take all of his scenes as if they were real, Piers Brosnon failed to do that, he seemed pretentious and arrogant. Names, Craig. Daniel Craig.

Sean Connery was the perfect Bond until he got too fat to play the role. Dr. No is still my favorite Bond film. If you really want James Bond as Ian Fleming created him you have to read the books. . . . and it's worth it.

James Bond would find the Mathis & Vesper's nobility in Q & Moneypenny respectively. I'm pretty sure of that for Bond 23. After all, there was Q & Moneypenny in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace deeply.
Vesper is very important in the James Bond series because being sophisticated is what Vesper tried to teach on James Bond. Bond will be used to show delight and courtesy to his enemies since they are sophisticated like Quantum. Bond must be at their level to finish them and not to get involved in international troubles. That's her legacy: Sophistication.
They didn't plan on killing her. Quantum were going to take her to gain leverage over Bond. Just like they did with her boyfriend. That's casually explained at the beginning of QoS.

This movie to me was equal parts "bond movie" and equal part beautiful love story. They developed Vesper's character to a degree I dont recall in any other Bond film. It doesnt hurt that Eva Green is ridiculously attractive and her wide-ranging portrayal of Versper really showcased this beautiful actress. Vesper may actually be smarter than 007. She even saved his life. I suppose this set up the series of movies, explaining why emotionally Bond is to remain aloof--Vesper set the standard.

Not your normal Bond film, rather like OHMSS. Don't get me wrong, it has flaws but its up there with the best of them as bit is ab out moulding the character of Bond.
