you two ran north jersey. wow, that is really megalomania.
the mafia does not run acountry. there are criminal assholes in the background, who steal and rob and murder, but the do not "run" anything, they do not create anything.there are just pieces of shit and they end like everyone else.
This scene cracks me up everytime. Juniors' expressions make me laugh, plus the fact he doesn't have his teeth in aswell. It's sad as shit too, love the way he says "hello" and "i'm confused" Great scene from a great show.
One of the most emotional moments of the show. Tony, knowing that his sister could not be trusted with raising and financially providing Bobby's kids, goes to his forgotten uncle. So sad. Janice is such a terrible human being.
Such a sad sad scene. Now Uncle Junior is completely gone lost, and will probably die soon afterwards. Its a far cry from the flamboyant singer and lover boy from earlier episodes.
IMO this is the best scene in the entire series, it perfectly encapsulates the essence of what The Sopranos is about; the bleak, stark, un-compassionate reality that is life and our modern condition. Most of us at the end of the day, when our guard is down, are Junior alone and confused.
Thanks for sharing this. One of the top 3 greatest scenes in the entire series. Uncle June played this scene so good that I still don't know if he really knew who Tony was or if he was faking it. "fuck you want, a boutinere??"
I don't get how Tony was so bitter towards Junior for shooting him but didn't seem to care anymore about the failed attempt on his life in Season 1 which was ordered by a fully aware and decisive Junior.
This Scene really tore me apart, Junior labled as boss...withered away into a shell of s shell of a man...from "we gotta have something done about your son", to "a man from another galaxy came here" From the singing in the diner to sitting in a wheel chair! Junior Soprano may not have been kind, but this scene even the people who hated him most had to feel some compassion! Very well done scene, Best series to grace television!
Kinda ironic that Junior Soprano's brother's name was Johnny & 30 some-odd years ago Dominic Chianese (Corrado) played Johnny (Ola) in The Godfather 2.
To answear a question somebody said in a previouse comment its funny how that person was fine one minute then completly lost who they were the next.Thats what happens with Dementia it can take your personality,Identity,Soul and Integrity believe me withing months if it is in advance stages let alone years.Ive seen it happen and its tragic to watch strong figures from your life fade away like that and see shades of what was once.Thats the rise and fall of us all.
I've said this before in another video with a good scene or tony and junior, but I really really have hatred for David Chase and the writers with their treatment of Junior and ton'y relation, and I just find it sick and disgusting how Jr ends up in the show with the demenitia and the shooting of Tony and him having no dignity at all, i can't even watch those scenes it disgusts me so much.
@TrentH190 but thats why you have to respect the writeers, look at how they've moved you and made you feel, thats what they were going for...life in the mafia aint fun n games...its reality
i can still never work out if junior was playing on the whole alzeimers thing, at times like when he beat the guy up in the home he seemed totally normal telling jokes, fighting then at other times hes going to look for johnny.
@2901Josh the point is when junior doesn't remember, and when just about all of his crew is dead, he has not a lot of people to remember the good ol mob times with. It's like his past is being erased. The older you get, the more you need people who knew you when you were younger.
Some people seem to miss the point, they don't see the whole picture, those who think tony does not forgive him or tony just walks away from him with no further care, refer back to earlier series. Junior orders the hit on tony, tony shifts the blame on to his mother and even lets junior off completely claiming he was manipulated. Tony shows more love for junior than any other character in the series he seeks his advice, acceptance and love. Ultimately, junior shot tony and tony must save face.
0:52: I love how even after so much misfortune, mental trauma, and loss of dignity, Corrado gets one final jab at Tony before resolving himself to being a ward patient for the few years remaining in his tragic life.
This scene shows that while Jr. truly has lost his mind, he still has some residual memories left. When Tony says he who was and Jr. goes "What, do you want a boutineer," tells me that he still has a basic idea of who Tony was at that point, by acknowledging his ties to being Boss of the family. Also, looking at the final words spoken by Jr. "hum well thats nice" show forgiveness and that Jr. truly has memory lapses and is not himself as he once was.
@JoJo527 I look at it this way. memory comes and goes so parts of the conversation will seem that he remembers, like the part you mentioned with the boutonniere. Also, when he says 'that's nice'
I think he probably doesn't remember being in power at times but he knows it's a nice thing, owning North Jersey.
@serbin16m Yeah, you sort of can help it considering that if Corrado ever heard oh, say something like, "The price of the chemicals in the human body is $9.1 million", he'd try to figure out some way to sell you piece by piece, protein by protein. The guy's a psychopath, empty of empathy. I can hear Paulie saying something about a "motherless fuck", but I think "soulless fuck" might work just as well in Junior's case.
This scene breaks my heart. Although he forgave uncle june he should never have walked away like that ...should have hugged the old guy or something.....anyway hell of a scene.....
"You and Johnny Boy used to run North Jersey". Haunting words. Corrado Soprano's decline from a Don to a old crook who don't even know who he is... like the Cosa Nostra itself... once a powerhouse crime enterprise, with the likes of Lucky Luciano and Frank Costello running New York from behind the curtains, and now it's just a pale shadow of what it was... but, like Corrado in the end, still alive and breathing, somehow...
I always loved how Tony gave Uncle Junior the memory of him and Johnny running North Jersey, after all Tony had been through with him, he still had the heart to give Uncle Junior a memory of when he was young and tough.
I think it's a bit odd that earlier in this season, corrado was energetic and seemed healthy, and all of a sudden he is a total mess physically, and it seems his memory is totally lost. But I still get the feeling Junior faked it to not have to take responsibility for shooting his nephew. Fuckin snake, I wish he would have been whacked.
Hey Joe,i saw you at 0:58 and 2:56!Thank you very much for sharing with us your experience working with these great actors!Wish you many great collaborations in the feature like this one!

It's saddening yet unforgiving in this last scene between Tony and Uncle Junior.
"You and my Dad. You two ran north jersey."
"We did?"
"Yeah."
"Oh...well that's nice," replies Junior, then uncaringly looks back out the window.
It reflected back to Tony that "this thing of ours" was stolen, bribed, and fought over for nothing. It didn't matter in the end.
