Hey man my name is Jeff and I am from the Asus tech support team in souther Indiana. You have got to realize that the Linux eeepc is going to be slow as shit. That is due to the fact that the OS is not a true OS. It is made from the company of ASUS its self. So that is why it might a little slow. Also you will notice that runs smoother then windows. That is due to the fact that the Linux doesn't have the extra bull crap like windows has.

Yes tomili1986, this is the asus eee pc 701 (if im not mistaken) with linux, and yes you can get a 900 701, or 1000 for that sake with windows XP.

got the asus eee pc 900 yesterday with linux and it great! fast on the internet, and fast with everything imo. ofcourse its all new so i havnt installed anything yet, could be the reason, but still a very nice little machine.

ok complicated cause of all the processor stuff with the new atom, thats like actually slower than the old intel celeron M but uses less power, and there is the celeron M ULV which like uses only the power of an atom but is as fast as a celeron M

Just bought one myself. Impressive for such a small device. Although not a power notebook, it does a lot out of the box. If you are after light, 'compact' portable & cheap PC for the web, email, word processing, spread sheets etc - its absolutely perfect!

I also found the Wi-Fi impressive. It is very sensitive and has a great pickup range.

Available also with XP apparently, however I liked the Linux version.

Good demonstration too by the way.
