Mariah continues to climb complexities as a vocalist and a singer, she is the one who has been placing the definition of a vocalist these karaoke-singers wish to emulate. Regine is a nice person I'm sure, but I'm sorry, no, you are denied. If I wanted to hear something similiar to whatever it is that she does, I'd go with Celine, who does it so much more better on the ears, at the very least I could get the same this with Angelica Pickles.

why are pinoys obsessed with comparing people to MC? get over it, there are tons of great voices on the planet. besides, your vocal chords are a muscle, that flex and vibrate and get old and worn out with time just like any other muscle. mariah is in her 40s, how old is regine? none of the older singers sound the same as they did in their 20s/30s. patti labelle, whitney, diana ross, mariah, and neither will regine, charice, etc. once they get older. it's just how human bodies work, come off it!

@cakesaintiago Singers develop nodules on their vocal chords and they can get surgery to get them removed. Mariah has had nodules for a long time. She hasn't got them removed in fear of losing her singing voice. So she sings through them. When she's tired her sound is husky, when rested its fine, as the swelling goes down. Plus the First two clips of her were from years where she was promoting and singing without adequate rest. Esp 2008.
But now her voice has rested and sounds good again.

they are both good.. they have their own style in singing.. mariah's voice is more artistic while regine got the more powerful voice.. mariah's voice is more capable in doing different vocal techniques, regine's voice is sky-rocketing and full of intensity.. no need to argue.. just love both of them.. i would be very glad to watch them together.. and i also think thast regine loves mariah, and nothing is wrong with that..=) her talent is indeed comparable to mariah..

Mariah continues to climb complexities as a vocalist and a singer, she is the one who has been placing the definition of a vocalist these karaoke-singers wish to emulate. Regine is a nice person I'm sure, but I'm sorry, no, you are denied. why are pinoys obsessed with comparing people to MC? get over it, there are tons of great voices on the planet. besides, your vocal chords are a muscle, that flex and vibrate and get old and worn out with time just like any other muscle. mariah is in her 40s, how old is regine? none of the older singers sound the same as they did in their 20s/30s. patti labelle, whitney, diana ross, mariah, and neither will regine, charice, etc. once they get older. it's just how human bodies work, come off it!

no serioiusly, i want to know what happened to mariah's voice? im concerned, mariah and regine, i love them both. even the famous barbara and lea salonga had their throat operated. its part of the process, accidents. i havent heard of regine's being operated yet, not that i know. but what happened to mariah's voice in this video? was it only an off day?

@cakesaintiago Singers develop nodules on their vocal chords and they can get surgery to get them removed. Mariah has had nodules for a long time. She hasn't got them removed in fear of losing her singing voice. So she sings through them. When she's tired her sound is husky, when rested its fine, as the swelling goes down. Plus the First two clips of her were from years where she was promoting and singing without adequate rest. Esp 2008.
But now her voice has rested and sounds good again.

and also popularity does not equates to how good a singer is.... one example is the fact that paris hilton is an international singer as in she is known worldwide whereas regine only reach some countries here in asia does that mean that paris hilton is a BETTER singer????? the anser is NOOOOOOOOOOOO as in hell to the fucking NO....

why are they always saying that regine is a COPYCAT? i dont get it sorry... of course the uploader uses a video where regine sang songs of the one they want to compare it with, its for the sake of fair comparison... and most of regines original songs are in tagalog/filipino so it would not be fair to compare it with an english song that mariah sings...

@senshura17 that's right, the covers are only few, most of her hit songs are Original Pilipino Music, A copy cat is a singer who sings covers 80% of the time. Mariah also made covers but you wont tag her as a copy cat, right?!

@senshura17 well, when regine sings covers, her own personal style still comes out.expecially when she sings her own song(of course). she has her own trademark just like every professional singer. she won many contests in the Philippines and also won a contest in Asia Pacific Song Festival. watch her video there. if she's only shouting and trying hard, you are insulting the judges in that competition, and most of all our respected singer Ms. Regine Velasquez.

@lloyd3100 yes, fucking sure. I just don't understand the why they always compare mariah with regine. If they want to compare with mariah, pls compare with the singers that also has the use of whistle register. Then, it will be an equal comparision. One more thing, mariah voice is more remarkeable, we only can have her like one in a million, her existence also much more remarkeable, that's why she is the legend. Thanks!

I wouldve really really completely admired mariah .. it just turns me off that she lip syncs all the time on her high bits, en like it only shows that she always only relies on sound technology. en not purely virtuosic. en thats really sad. REGINE's my number one !!! purely en exceptionally talented!!

regine may have sang alot of songs but it doesnt mean her versions are all superb. im talking about the genre the girls` have sung. i already heard regine sang r&b songs, and she cant do it as mch mariah where mariah can rap, and can PLAY with her voice thru R&B. and yes mariah sounds sick in this vid, thats why its not fair for her. but if u think regine is better, i have nothing against it. its ur decision and i have mine, period!

u know it doesn't mean that if mariah is lip syncing she is not a BETTER singer than REGINE. u know guys ur basing ur answers on who can hit high notes..it's not all about that....there are many factors that we should consider on judging who's the better singer.base upon what is the vocal range of the singer,the way she performs,the versatility,vocal gymnastics,or vocal ability,singing unique and hard songs,the quality of voice,power of voice and many more..

@miumi2011 nope.. she already sang Hardest Thing by 98 degrees.. and Survivor by Destiny's Child.. and i dont wanna miss a thing.. which is rock... and many more.. she sings every sunday on a noon time show, that's why she may have sang so many genres of songs.. and that's versatility.
