@bettiethebadger The "overweight girl" *lol* is one of the most famous singers of 'Celtic Woman' ! You SEE - weight is NOT a loss of human satisfaction!!! #justahint#
@Sapphire848: You didn't read the description of the clip, eh?!? There's everything what you want to know!!! Finally I'm not allowed to change neither the name of the interpret nor the title of the song! It's still called "Chloe Agnew - Gabriel's Oboe" - like published on her CD and DVD "Walking In The Air"!
One can see where Chloe gets such great sensitivity and musicality. David Agnew's rendition of this beautiful number is my favorite interpretation of it.
When i hear this, it invokes such emotion, so that I feel I could gently raise the oboe and produce these wondrous sounds. But then the video ends...... and I realize that if i did so, me with an oboe would sound much like a duck or goose being squeezed very hard. (so again I click on replay).
does any1 know, where to get the part of this song (the notes he is playing and nothing else..) i already got the oboe part (wich i will play) and i also need a piano part wich suits!! =)
@colarefreshing If you ordered a copy of the sheet music, it would give you the melody as well as the piano accompaniment. You just have to make sure that the music you order is in the same key as the music you already have for the oboe.
@aholinka Thanks for clearing that up. I'm a big fan of Chloe and Celtic Woman from Korea, and recently there was a debate going on among several fans and non-fans on some Korean blogs and websites about whether or not David Agnew played the original version of Gabriel's Oboe.
I used to play oboe for 3 years in junior high. I wished I still had it. I'm thinking of buying a new one in the very near future. David Agnew plays so well and so smoothly. :)
I was lead to this video from listening to Chloe singing Nella Fantasai live with Cetic woman and the gentleman playing the oboe is her Dad, David Agnew. Chloe is the beutiful lady you see at the start of the video, see her sing this with David on the Oboe solo on Celtic woman on here, she's amazing, melt your heart. and filmed in the gorgous gardens of powerscourt House in Co Wicklow here in Ireland.
@aholinka This credit should actually go to the composer who wrote the music, he doesn't even get a mention, get his name right next time folks, ENNIO MORRICONE, amen
@aholinka; Gabriels's Oboe composed by Ennio Morricone and peformed here with David Agnew. Otherwise it is Plagiarism. Proper Order or 'credit' where it is due alongside with the artists.
@aholinka Well, how about this. Since the video and song people are looking at on youtube, put the name of the person performing in it. Even though Chloe is walking around, I would hardly say she's performing - she's just there as it's part of her album. The person being listened to is the man. I watched this waiting to hear Chloe sing and was confused from hearing an oboe with no Chloe.
I think you should put the guy's name and indicate Chloe's album in the description. :)

This just inspired me to keep on playing the oboe right as I was thinking it sounded like a duck haha I guess it's just school oboe's.

I enjoy very much David Agnew's interpretation of this piece.

Haha, always funny to hear the ambience of a concerthall in a supposed outdoors performance. Fine playing though

The composer is Enio Morricone. "Mission"'s soundtrack.

This is obviously David Agnew and not Chloe performing. You need to change the details on You Tube.

According to wikipedia an oboist named Joan Whiting played the original Gabriel's Oboe on the Mission OST in 1986, not David Agnew. Is this true?
zpfxlrdnajs 1 year ago
@zpfxlrdnajs Yep, that's right!
Nobody said that this is the original version in any way. Ntl. David Agnew (Chloe's father) is playing on his oboe in this version.

hi,
this is best i ever heard.
i wanna play this.
where did you get the phonogram for this composition?
thank you for the video.

i don't get it. it says that chloe is doing this, but it's a MAN who's playing...the credit should go to him, not chloe.
weirdelzimbo 2 years ago 2
The MAN is David Agnew, Chloe's father, and the song was released on Chloe's DVD "Walking In The Air". You can see her in the clip ;-).

Sorry Sir, but this is a channel dedicated to Chloe Agnew and not Ennio Morricone!
Btw. on Chloe's CD and DVD "Walking In The Air" there's the credit you missed as well as on "Discography" at 'chloe-agnew . com'!
