They are great radios indeed. See also my Youtube video showing the incredible noise blanker performance of this radio. And I agree with miserableoldc*nt that these Cybernet radios are excellent radios. The designs are a bit messy but first-class components have been used. I have never had a Cybernet radio give up on me due to component failure. In contrast, I have had numerous Uniden based radios fail on me due to bad components. Mostly the electrolytic and tantalum caps go bad in Uniden radios
I bought one not long ago from cobraworxshopz and it works a treat(wants to do for the price) if they are slightly off frequency they sound terrible on ssb. The rx is fantastic on it.
nice to see others still using their HG5's. They are good solid easy to use CB radios, less complicated than the Ham Concorde and still sought after even now. I have 7! Don't sell it keep it.......
Thanks Brad nice to see you still about mate. Just like filming the radios and taking photos of the radios that have passed through my hands as I notice there is always one picture you cannot find on the net. Hope to hear you on the air soon mate. 73
I did try USB but unfortunally did not film as there was no propogation at the time. But I can honestly say this particulay Hygain was down the line on the band. Thats why I got good money for it ;)
aw man, I love these old cybernets. I have a mint tristar in the box, I love em, you just cant beat em for the rx. if its there, they hear it no danger.

@coheher I'm also a Cybernet fan. The only component failure i had in 30yrs was an output tranni on a Nato 2000
