  • 7 Maart gaan we het nog eens over doen. "Wayne Bergeron in concert" check de website colarte (dot)eu

  • @loganator50 - I met him too! He came and played at our university and stood right next to me while we played badger blues and i almost melted during the concert lol.

  • Wayne is Nutrasweet to Maynard's sugar; they're both sweet but only one is the real deal.

  • I FRIGGIN MET THIS GUY!

  • him and eric miyashiru are the best

  • is this a band of midgets?

  • Wayne is a stud!

  • dude can't touch MF. oh well.

  • that was perfect. get out your little mindset that maynard is the best there ever will be

  • God wishes he could play the trumpet as well as Wayne.

  • One of the best commercial players ever.

  • i cant believe i saw him at a local jazz band state comp. jeeez

  • Omg! I can't frickin' believe I get to take a lesson from him on Monday!!!!!!! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LUCKY

  • @trumpetguy3039 So how did your lesson go?

  • @mharbaugh The lesson was a lot of fun. It happened a couple years ago but i remember having a really good time talking to him about a lot of the stuff he'd done and i felt like he told me a few really good things that helped me with my playing before I went to college. It was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience, pretty amazing.

  • There was only one Maynard; all others are just following in his enormous footsteps. Bergeron is unbelievable, though (to me, like Severinsen with a bigger upper register); there's an amazing recording of him playing "O Holy Night" somewhere, and the top note he hits is just blistering.

  • Oh dude! When he goes up to a Double High D! That's abosolutely insane!!! I have that song on my iPod. The funny thing is, I'm actually Jewish, but that song is too good to pass up.

  • I'm not sure what being Jewish has anything to do with this, ha ha.

  • We were talking about "O Holy Night," so I was saying how I loved that song, but yeah, my bad.

  • It is called screaming christmas, and it is called o holy night.

  • Wayne may not be Maynard, but I do agree that he has one of the cleanest sounds up in the stratosphere, even shaking on a double B!

  • well said ;-)

  • u should listen to the eric miyashiro version. he was also in MFs band i think. every1 in his band takes solos and they're all amazing.

  • being honest i think eric's version is better.might be a better player but if i ever get half as good as either of them ill be happy :)

  • @MajinBuu609 close. he wasnt in the band itself, but did come in and solo a few times

  • Wayne is great, but sterile. Maynard's playing had passion, which is clearly missing here. And remember, Maynard was three times Bergeron's age when Wayne was on the band; MF was the standard by which all high note trumpet players must be measured, and none come close.

  • agreed, but i honestly like a little bit of sterile but yes there can be more!!!! emotion like maynard showed.

  • He's clean, but you should listen to Paul Cacia, or Severinson

  • he is the cleanist player I have ever heard, but y shake the double b, other than that it was really good he is one of the best

  • because he can?? I wish I could shake from a double B to a D with the greatest of ease!!

  • Yeah true, he is amazing, I can kinda shake a double B, I was just saying I don't personally think it sounds as good as just using vibrato on it

  • wayne is amazing

  • 17 may trumpetparty 2009, with Eric miyashiro!

  • good stuff...too bad the audience had to clap along and ruin most of the audio. :(

  • Master.. this guy is amazing and great. Chase and Maynard were lips above this guy... Its great though to hear others carrying on great trumpet and jazz/fusion/rock .... ROCK -ON!!!

  • Wayne sounded Prettier IMO, but Maynard definately had more juice on those top notes. Maynard was more accomplished.

  • wow....... sure owns the best trumpet player i know.

  • every trumpet player's dream...the ability to play really high and loud! he's amazing, dubba G's are just out of my range...

  • exelente

  • wayne is a god. his high register is flawless, not like maynard or arturo who sound thin.

  • You are an idiot - small ears w/ a smaller brain.

Wayne calls himself "Waynard" for a reason.

Bud Herseth - not a bad tpt legend himself - called MF "the greatest brass player of the century."

There is no "better" in art.

  • I have to disagree. As much as I love Wayne's playing, there's a reason he looked up to Maynard so much.

  • i agree with umich, maynard has a worse sound at the top of his register than wayne does, particularly as he got older

  • I'm going to have to agree as well. Maynard is more fun to watch/listen to, but Wayne simply has better high notes. This is coming from the objective point of view of a trombonist.

  • wayne, i pray to you, you are a beast

  • Heh u think this guy is good, check out Maynard Ferguson's "Gonna Fly Now" From when he was younger. The name of his version is

"Maynard Ferguson Big Band - Gonna Fly Now"

  • @Ghost2500 wayne was in maynard's band

  • Heh u think this guy is good, check out Maynard Ferguson's "Gonna Fly Now" From when he was younger. The name of his version is

"Maynard Ferguson Big Band - Gonna Fly Now"

  • Wayne us flawless; the whole bands sounds fantastic!!

  • Desmond, this is rediculous.

    simply put.

  • Wayne Bergeronm is god !!!!

  • Look at all those cameras recording the awesomeness!

  • haha yeah, that's pretty cool. They could make a multi-angle DVD out of 'em.
