I have the first gen iPod touch as well. If you have a wi-fi connection and do e-mails and twittering and that kind of stuff on your iPod, you will love cut, copy and paste. Same for the search feature if you have tons of stuff on your iPod. Second Gen can use the voice memo stuff, because they have external speakers. The compass needs a wi-fi or and iPhone, so I don't have that on mine.

Basically, I overpaid for 3.0 because what I really use out of it isn't that much. My suggestion: save your money until you can get a 3Gs. You'll enjoy the software a lot more with that phone.

Raj1513, you can mms using iphone 3g however there is no video recording. just look around online and alot of apple blogs will be able to give you a list of what you can do on 3.0 with a 3g as well as a list of whats new for the 3gs.

you dont have to wait i bought the 3.0 off of ebay as long as someone has the developers account they can add up to 100 iphones with you iphones (udid) number and it works fine just as 2.2.1 does but you have to get it from someone with the developers account so they can add your phone to the list look on ebay for 3.0 iphone firmwear
