Watch out staying up too long if you're in college. It's easy to get caught up and realise that you haven't slept in as much as 10 hours! You won't die, but you definitely aren't gonna be peek energy.
Hi! I am trying Polyphasic Sleep and recording all my results, and how I'm feeling. I am specifically doing the Dymaxion Sleep Schedule(2hours a day) which is every 6 hours, you sleep for 30minutes. I discuss tips that I have found out from experience that can make the experience way easier to accomplish! Sorry if you call this spam, I thought that if your watching Polyphasic Sleep videos on youtube, you might want to read about my experience as well. I feel great!
aeia, i think you have those deep afternoon naps, because of breakfast food digesting. i think from experience that vivid dreams are quote unquote "acid trips" from "overacidic" foods. just my experience.
i think REM and deep dreaming is probably a bad thing, because whenever i have those, i have nightmares, and it's usually caused by massively overeating nuts/seeds, which aren't raw. but when i eat just water-rich fruits and vegetables i'm a very light sleeper, and I instantly wake up like "let's do something productive!"
Im very interested in starting a polyphasic schedule but im still in high school, is there a way to have a schedule work around school because i can't sleep during school, help!!
You could either do the everyman style (look it up). Or you could go to the library and get a nap in there. This is what I would have done, though it will ruin your socializing during that time. While adapting, bus rides will put you to sleep like nothing else. So hopefully you don't have to ride one.
Dr. Claudio Stampi's polyphasic sleep study confirmed that you still get all your phases of sleep on uberman. I'm thinking of starting uberman tonight, I'm in college though, so I was just wondering if you're mind was clear enough that you'd be able to take tests during the initial adaptation?
Yes indeed, you always have peak moments of energy during each day. For me I was at my peak after noon every day until 2pm when I again felt like I was hit by a truck. For a time, my memory was sharper and clearer than ever.
the hair looks fine, i think one should change now and then to keep it interesting; there was a documentary of some italian painter(not sure) in the 90's (?) guy and they recorded his sleep(uberman) and it showed exactly that, which was the scientist prediction, that the brain would choose what phase it needed, it kinda proved that all phases were necessary. its on youtube somewhere
And yes, you answered the exact question I needed.
Thanks.....
And about not hitting REM every time, makes sense to me, I am becoming sleepy in different parts of the day, and this changes slightly everyday, but always stay awake easily at night.
Awesome Iya! If I might ask though, where are your videos from when you first started?

I'm a senior in high school, and an uberman. I take a 20minute nap during my lunch period at the library. It works fine for me.

Nope, the maximum time you can be awake between naps is 6 hours. Try joining one of the mailing lists or forums about polyphasic sleeping

I like the idea of Dymaxion sleep, 4 naps 6 hours apart 30min long(maybe longer?). 6 hours awake seems like it might be easier to fit to a schedule...
This has really blown my mind, I never knew you could cheat sleep, I always thought you needed 8hours... as you say though you do need your naps!
I really can't see me tryingto adapt while going to school, I will have to wait for next year I guess :(

Love the hair. THanks for the info regarding night terrors. Never heard of that before and will visit the google group.

However, I have those times when I would rather shoot myself then stay awake.
That is my most difficult moment. I have noticed I have fallen into Micro sleeps a few times but only for a few seconds to near a min.
I am guessing this is part of the adaptation.
After adapting to you still fall into this?
Day 5 w00t... getting there.
