did you get your iguana from a previous owner? An under bite like that with an upper jaw with a curve could have meant the iguana had MBD in the past, or that the iguana fractured its jaws. If the jaws fractured for example, crushed or sat on, the lower jaw could have healed and begun to grow more quickly than the top.

Yes, well, he bit my pointer finger on my right hand, then went into a roll and twisted it around 180 degrees. I had to twist it back to get the nail to line up. The break was at the first joint, the finger was mangled. When I got to the hospital they said they couldn't save it and so they amputated it.
By the way, Brando (the cat) and Gollum got along great. We would find Brando sitting up on the shelf with Gollum in his enclosure. He's not stressed. Iguanas like to zone out, they'll close they're eye or eyes and it's the whole 'i can't see you so you can't see me' thing.
Gollum passed away last year. He lived 12 years. He didn't have metabolic bone disease. He went thru a period where he was excessively aggressive. Sent me to the hospital 8 times. He was almost 5 ft and a VERY healthy male. When he bit my finger off, well, that was the last straw and we got him 'fixed'. We were able to go in and watch the surgery. The doc said his testicles were 3x's the size of a normal iguana. So he was just a big healthy male. We loved him very much and I miss him daily. RIP

We are over the road truck drivers and our Ig has been every where and has made many many friends.
