later on in the film, when he is entering the police cell, his jacket in on him, then when he walks in to the cell, it's just hanging over his shoulders.

the usual suspects is my all time favourite movie, but i love these little continuity errors.

It is genuine laughter. If you ever get to see the bonus disc that whole scene got fucked up cuz of Baldwin and they couldn't get the actual take they wanted. Benicio farted during that scene too so they could never stop laughing. They ended up just editing in the laughter which gave it a more friendship amongst thieves feel.
