The thing is' my hair's layered short at the top so I could get this look naturally with a little hair spray, no teasing, except for, my hair's to sleek it doesn't hold well

teasing would be annoying wouldn't it, I mean you're natting up the hair? causing break edge and split ends,

you can preform the same look, with a roundbrush.
