@ automechanico1 u only have to use the trans and rear diff but the motor u can use any B series u want dosent have to be from a CRV i had a 91 civic wagon i was goin to make a AWD but it got stolen and the civic came AWD in a carburated verson bout 86-87 i believe

My H22 Vtec prelude sounds like the little sister to this. But sounds better than a lot of civics or integras ive seen with the Killer cam converstion pretty g ass shit. Overall nice work i wouldnt guess its a civic rollin up next to me at the light haha

@Marshmallowrex ...to give the best of both, first cam profiles gives fine torque at lower rpm for day to day driving and then second profile is activated at higher rpm to produce more power. The Toda Vtec killer cams remove the first profile as they are designed for race use only and so bottom end torque is not necessary when bombing round a track at 7k+rpm. The Vtec system can however be modified to give more power, eg replacing the cams, with more aggressive lobed cams

@Marshmallowrex I don't know you or your car, you may know what your on, but you didn't explain it right. Vtec stands for Variable valve Timing & Electronic lift Control. Honda set out to design a small engine that would achieve 100bhp/l without a turbo. So start with a high lift, aggresive cam which gives a good power output. Great, but now your producing little power and torque at lower rpm, not good for daily driving. So Honda developed the Vtec system which uses 2 cam profiles...

Well Im more of a V8 muscle guy myself but I do appreciate any nice build regardless of the initial engine size. I do however think that a lot of the way v8 guys act towards imports is due to all the little boys and mexicans who put decals all over there car, a muffler, body kit, intake, etc etc and drive around the highway like jackasses when their car is nowhere near fast (even if it has vtec, its still not fast) You dont see that often with v8's. Too many imports are show>go.

@1995camry1 not worth it first of all the TODA vtec killer cams are crazy expensive and u wont really see any gains in a single cam also TODA doesnt make vtec killer cams for the d16. also its not just cams u have to get u pretty much have to get a new valve train that can handle the increase pressure and u have to tune the ecu to run them all not cheap so for a single cam d16 not worth it. if all u want is power then u should either swap or go turbo a d16 turbo is fairly cheap and powerful.

Not Really! Because a VTEC engine, will produce more power than a non VTEC engine, with the same set of camshafts, because those engines are a lot better in many other ways. Crankshafts, Pistons, Rods... etc... Even the Oil Cooling is a lot more improved than non VTEC engines. materials used are different, so... its not just the lobe...!

Moreover, there are few Honda engines, with 2 Over Head Cams, and no VTEC.

Most DOHC Honda engines are VTEC'ed! Not all though!
