why is there a phone sound at the end of it does anybody know? what does that mean?

@thesimpsonfan270 Those are tones meant to tell the individual transmitters the CBC uses throughout Ontario to shut off.

I would assume CBLN had its own separate sign-off at that time, judging by the lack of a mention of any of those transmitters.
