Hour feet have to many bones and have be pampered to much throughout our life to handle the compression of long range running without the protection or shoes or in fact the 5 fingers. However over tome you could build up a tolerance to some degree. And running barefoot without running barefoot?... no.

Ive got a pair ov vibrams and they are the best shoes ive ever had. I feel that i should warn you all though- be SURE not to press down with your toes as you run or youll damage your tendons on the top of your feet like i did. Healed up ok though & i still run in them.

I had some Speeds, they lasted 2 months of light walking and 10 miles a week running. The UK distributor told me "The wear on the soles of both shoes is unrealistic for 2 months.". A great product to start with but it needs much better durability. Definitely not fakes, they where from an authorise UK retailer.
Buy water shoes if you don't need the toes. They are much cheaper and in every other aspect the same. Trust me I bought Vibram Five Fingers and used them for Parkour, they were broken after one month.

Haha, from like 10ish feet away, they look like normal tennis shoes. The toes look like they're all connected, until you notice the toe reinforcement, or shall I say, the extra rubber that comes up the toes haha. Good review man! Keep the videos coming!
Speeds are so ugly, in my opinion. I wouldn't buy those, for me VFF's just remind me of a more modern take on shoes and you're throwing in a somewhat or soon to be outdated material(s), and it just doesnt work for vibrams

@superspazz61 based on numerous reports from people who have the fakes, this just doesn't hold water. Granted, it's your personal subjective opinion, but the fakes are clearly not the same as the legit Speeds -- QC is off (for one) and certain design features aren't the same (I've examined photos of fakes and they are definitely not the same).
My treksports AND sprints tore down the side of the left toe...vibram has refused to do anything about it. Not really looking to spend any more money into a company that doesn't help its customers.
I have a cousin in Germany and he shipped me the speeds. They arrived in my grubby US hands in 9 days. I'm absolutely in love with these shoes. Have the black ones and thinking about the white ones.
I've been looking at getting a pare of vibrams. The speeds seem to be a good choice for me, but I've had trouble finding a place on the Internet that sells them for a good price in my size(because I live in the US). Do you have any ideas where I could get these at a good price?
The Speed is legit - just not yet available from US retailers. Fall 2011 they will be in the US. That said there are also fake Speeds out there (but these aren't).
@jnowings If you had to pick between the bikila or the saucony hattori for like running,maybe some quick walks to the corner store play a game of football on grass with friends.Im in highschool and well i wouldn't completely mind wearing five fingers because of the uniqueness and the barefoot feel,but the hattori is more sporty.Opinions?
@jnowings They are available in the US now, as I saw a shelf section for them at REI, the guy said they were sold out and he had no idea when they would get more, and they are now on the US website as well, but they're sold out there, and almost everywhere else in the nation, too.
@rustishacklefordx I would double check on that. I'm not sure how they do sizes, but when I got mine the guy told me they are European sizes. I wear a 13 in US sizes and a 44 in European sizes...
@AndrewSmith00000007 I have ran with Speeds and Bikilas in winter. Not the warmest shoes in winter of course but they work adequately for running with thick toesocks like Injinji Nuwool. My feet always freeze when walking with them but when running the faster I go the warmer my feet will feel. I think it's because the feet are not touching the ground that long and they will heat up from exercise.

@Randysaxeman Go for the 41s, it's always best to go up when sizing, so you can avoid crowding in the toe pockets, I was in beetween and 41 and 42 and I got a 42 and it has worked wonderfully.

have a pair of Speeds and let me tell you what, they are the most comfortable shoe i have ever worn. They have a more casual look and i where them like everyday shoes. i still need a pair more specifically designed for running though. Bikila LS?

@superspazz61 based on numerous reports from people who have the fakes, this just doesn't hold water. Granted, it's your personal subjective opinion, but the fakes are clearly not the same as the legit Speeds -- QC is off (for one) and certain design features aren't the same (I've examined photos of fakes and they are definitely not the same).

My treksports AND sprints tore down the side of the left toe...vibram has refused to do anything about it. Not really looking to spend any more money into a company that doesn't help its customers.
Nice looking shoe though, and a good review.

I have a cousin in Germany and he shipped me the speeds. They arrived in my grubby US hands in 9 days. I'm absolutely in love with these shoes. Have the black ones and thinking about the white ones.

I've been looking at getting a pare of vibrams. The speeds seem to be a good choice for me, but I've had trouble finding a place on the Internet that sells them for a good price in my size(because I live in the US). Do you have any ideas where I could get these at a good price?

The Speed is legit - just not yet available from US retailers. Fall 2011 they will be in the US. That said there are also fake Speeds out there (but these aren't).

@jnowings If you had to pick between the bikila or the saucony hattori for like running,maybe some quick walks to the corner store play a game of football on grass with friends.Im in highschool and well i wouldn't completely mind wearing five fingers because of the uniqueness and the barefoot feel,but the hattori is more sporty.Opinions?

@jnowings They are available in the US now, as I saw a shelf section for them at REI, the guy said they were sold out and he had no idea when they would get more, and they are now on the US website as well, but they're sold out there, and almost everywhere else in the nation, too.

@rustishacklefordx I would double check on that. I'm not sure how they do sizes, but when I got mine the guy told me they are European sizes. I wear a 13 in US sizes and a 44 in European sizes...

Bought these five fingers around 8 months now.
Did a 10k run in london a few days later, no problems at all.

Have you tried it in winter?Like in NY's winter temps?I know it's not made for cold weather but that doesn't stop me from wondering.

@AndrewSmith00000007 I have ran with Speeds and Bikilas in winter. Not the warmest shoes in winter of course but they work adequately for running with thick toesocks like Injinji Nuwool. My feet always freeze when walking with them but when running the faster I go the warmer my feet will feel. I think it's because the feet are not touching the ground that long and they will heat up from exercise.
