  • One problem with this video is Peter Snow's suggestion that the British captured an eagle standard at Talavera. Sorry, that only happened in fiction (courtesy of Richard Sharpe and Patrick Harper); the first eagle captured by the Brits was at Barrosa in 1811...

    Notwithstanding that little slip, it's good to see the Peninsular War getting some air time - plenty of bicentennials coming up over the next few years...
