I'm really saddened by the fact that most people hate st. anger cuz it has detuned snare drum, lack of soloshredding and whatever the other reasons are. Lyrically it's one of their most powerful albums, but obviously nobody listens to lyrics and just starts their "OMG THIS IS NOT LIKE KILL EM AALL SO IT DEFINATELY SUCKS"

The way i see it is, they don't play this material live as it is stereotyped as the worst they ever produced, and fans with no regard for variety would probably leave the venue, decreasing the bands popularity livewise, therefore reducing profit of shows from the band. Or they just don't like playing it and choose not to :P

worst album ever??..st anger was a totally different direction for them, every song you can feel the emotion and hardship that james was going through at the time including his alcoholism and tensions between the band..St Anger is a mind set of pure anger. Of course Metallicas entire cataloge is amazing but can you honestly say that ride the lightning has more aggression and emotion then St Anger????....That my friend is metal
