Lol, AVGN's review of Plumbers Don't Wear Ties is hilarious. Too bad some of these games looked okay, and thanks to him people'll probably always associate it with that piece of crap.
the 3do and the cdi system looks like a old vcr but despites their hich price, few games and poor marketing, they deserved to compeat against nintendo and sony.
daam i din,t knew annything about 3d till in 1995 with the psx demo,it,s a shame that the n64 was cartride based,no wonder those games din,t look spectaculair nor oke.
I think most of you never played this system because for its time it was amazing. This came out long before the original Playstation, and it was the most advanced home console ever made. Of course it looks like crap now, but in 1993 this was the shizzle. It blew the SNES and Genesis out of the freaking water, and the one kid I knew who had made lots of friends during that time!
Thats true, people who never owned the consoles or didn't grow up with the right and best games for them will easly say "darrrh it sucked". In a 100 years it won't really matter if psx sold 2 or 200 million. But in saying that it also won't matter if you said "darrrh 3do 32X sega cd jaguar sucked" cause youll be dead and nothing really mattered all along..
From a gameplay standpoint it was crap. It blew the SNES and Genesis out of the water in what way? SNES was outselling this bloated box years after it was rightly discontinued. Anyone can throw together a game system with off-the-shelf hardware; no good games + high price point = failure. Just look at the PS3.
It's too bad you needed your parents to buy you an expensive game console to get people to come over to your house to pretend they were your friends.
The 3DO was absolute garbage. That space shooter game they showed clips from sucked. It's funny, this was when they didnt quite know how to market video game consoles. Clips of "cool" kids shooting fire from their ears. The people that they should have marketed this to are those that can afford $700 of hardware.
I loved the 3DO, it was a niche system. It had "adult" games like Snowjob. and Twisted still to this day is one of my favorite drinking games with my friends..
to call it garbage just because it was geared towards a small audience is incorrect. by that logic Lamborghini's are garbage too!
Didn't it fail because it was geared to a small audience? Was it actually geared toward that audience? or were their a couple of games that happened to come out for it that the small audience liked. The "me and six other people loved it" argument is used by Virtual Boy fans too. Hope you had fun putting those 7 hundreds through the paper shredder...
What an incoherent rambling of nonsense. Did you actually have a point you wanted to make, or were you just distracted and confused 'bout why all 'dem letterz wuz big. It's called CapsLock.
that,s really average the gba and even the superfx2 for the snes were more powerfull than the 3do, but the 3do can provide the same graphics and perfect sound as the psx amezing!!!!!
Laugh all you want kiddies, but this was cutting edge at one point.

@huludicidal In 1995, this was mind blowing. Different times, different standards sport.
St3v3Patrio7 1 year ago
@St3v3Patrio7 No, in 1995 3DO was crap. Today it doesn't matter. But back then it was crap some people bought for a lot of money.

Gran consola, su elevado costo hizo que no tuviera el exito esperado, tuvo juegos increibles, debió estar en la guerra de los 32 bits por más tiempo.
