This phone is 2 yrs older than the IPhone, and yet it has almost the same technology. For someone who can't afford a pricy IPhone, this seems like a good alternative. CECT has good IPhone copies, but they all lack the capabilities.

to make calls do u actually put the phone up to ur ear?

u could either put to ur ear or use "stupid" headset that comes wit it, and u also use the same headset to listen to music, watch vedios or wateva u do, as it has 2 ear places

I was so hyped up on getting the IPhone, until I really did my research and saw alllll of the downsides and all of the features that the IPhone lacks, that the 8525 has. My question to you, is how the call/sound quality is? I'm kind of hard of hearing and phones that you're pressing into your skull and still can't hear squat won't do. Pleasseeee tell me this phone has good volume level and sound quality!

tmobile wing is not the best phone ever its a beautiful phone but not the best...it runs at the same speed as the predicesor the tmobile mda which is running an older processor...the tmobile wing shuld be running more mhz instead of 200 so that way it wouldnt have sluggish performance .got it!?

Okay. I DO agree with you on the processor, however it does not have any fault to my Wing. And I also do agree with you on that it is not the best Cellular Mobile Device on the Current Market. (personally i think it would have to be the N95, iPhone etc....) And iPhones suck. But the wing is by far better than whatever he is trying to impertrate.

I've had mine now for over 3 months now and love it! Got my at a steal for $199 through my Cingular business rep. I suggest everyone get one. LOVE the wi-fi connection as a backup function.

Nice review. Would like to trade in my PDA and phone for an all-in-one, but the screen seems like it would be hard on the eyes because of it's small size. Wnapier, are you getting any lockup/reset problems with your unit?

You've got to buy Microsoft Voice command. It is like magic. The phone becomes hands free. No voice training required. You can say "Dial Sandy" and it will ask which number, mobile, home work etc..

Also you can say "dial 555-425-5555 and it will do it. No Voice training required. It will automatically recognize every contact in Microsoft Outlook.

I can hand it to you and you could immediately use the same dialing commands. It also speaks your appointments out loud to you.

Yes. Even with the fairly high mega pixels for a camera phone the picts are still not a substitute for a real camera.

Because it has a screen-saving function. Which probably your cell has too, right? If u leave the keys for a while the screen goes black to save battery, This can be changed in the settings i think.

OH! Quick question, does the software come with the transcriber program? (Hand writting recognizer)

Sure does. I've been pretty happy with it but as with all hand writing recognition software it isn't perfect. If you're familiar with transcriber you'll be able to use this just fine. Note that the telescopic stylus is a little small for the hand so if you've got one lying around that's bigger or get one for a few bucks you'll be much happier.
