i cannot agree with vineesh babu. all actors are human beings. their face need not change.. mohanlal also has the same smile, same way of shrugging shoulders. sharukh, amithabh, amir, all have their own mannerisms which reflect in characters. mammootty has tried to alter his voice and mannerisms quite a lot and has succeeded to a great extent.

He have to do such movies ir if he is so called 'great actor' ....... he was a man who accidently came to film world when it needed only people with good physique and drama acting skill.....and mammootty had that and he survived....wht else he have ? same face expression in all movies........a statue.....its shame for malayalies to tell that he is a superstar in kerala....

He is an actor who has won three national awards ...The only other actor who has won it is Kamal Hasan ... And that too against all north indian discrimination ... He is somebody who adoor gopalakrishnan has said that he is the GEM of Indian movies.... Now you it is the shame for malayalees to tell that he is a superstar .... I am proud if being malayalee and I am proud that Mamootty is also a malayali ......

I apretiate ur matured reply....Ofcourse the number of national awards is not a measure of a 'superstar' .....Mammotty is good in a very 'limited' range of charectors...there also u can feel the same expressions in alomost charectors...I belive thats not the sign of a flexible actor or a 'superstar' ........ He is one of an actor in thousands who acted few roles good but not with the capabilites of doing any role and entertaining wiht a magic performance.....I meant only that

If you are talking about super star, you can go with Mohanlal because he is popular and Malayalis love him and I too love him...

But again I was responding when you said it is a shame to Malayalis that he is a superstar. Again for a proof of his acting Prowess and flexiility , please think of these films : Ponthan Mada, Amaram, Sooryamanasam, Vidheyan etc... Range and flexibility does not necessarily mean 2 dance and do something comical.getting 3 natnl awards is no simple task
