  • Thank you so much for your video! I am so glad to see a beautiful 50+! I am 57 and I need your advice and humor!

  • great video!!!

  • Thanks for the review and for saving us $165! lol I tried Kerastase before and didn't particularly care for it. I actually like Aussie, Pantene, V05, Suave... etc better.

  • I found that out a long time ago. Totally agree with you. Good markering males us believe almost anything. Not to mention the celebrity pressure.

  • i love that your unique and you use expensive and cheap products to compare then your viewers can know what to use & not feel bad when its too expensive to buy the high end products and want them

  • You said something about Kool-Aid and Prell?? Please explain, I am so curious now!

  • I dont think wella is good. I like tigi "dumb blonde" or "headshot". Very good stuff!

  • Shampoos with sulfate can eventually dry your hair out. So sometimes it's worth it to buy a more expensive shampoo. You don't need to wash your hair everyday with it. So it last longer. I heard that using baking soda and vinegar can be good for your hair. It's sulfate free and cheap.

  • Your Pretty :)

  • The key is to look for the ingredient: sodium laureth sulfate. It makes the shampoo harsher than it needs to be. If it makes a lot of suds it has this ingredient. I use Aveda and get very little lather, It cleans without stripping. there are other shampoos with out it but not many.

  • any of those supermarket products are bought in huge amounts and they can sell them very cheap.....having said that wella sp is a prescriptive product and would be recommended by your stylist....your hair looks in great condition to me that is why you dont notice any difference between the 2 products....i wonder if the integrity of your hair was challenged...(dry damaged etc..)i wonder which product would step up to the mark???,,i am saying "WELLA SP"......thats what your paying for..

  • Wow, $165...I am so obviously a college student. XD I use V05 all the time, and it's great!

  • OMG, I teetolly agree with you!!! Every now and then I go to Sally Beauty Supply, when they have their gallon jugs of shampoo on sale for $3.99, and I use it for everything! Me, kiddoes, dogs, makeup brushes- it's wonderful!!!

  • WOW! I personally use LUSH products which are all natural. Unfortunatly for me I have thick and crazy hair. I have picky hair VO5 makes my hair gummy... The lush products will run about $20.00 for a shampoo and conditioner. Great video! I love doing comparisons

  • @AmberEmancipated I need to get myself over to the LUSH site. Everyone raves about it but I have never bought from there.

    Thanks for the comment. Smooches

  • @lanaindiana OH you'll love their products. They look really rustic and hand made. If you have a LUSH store near you I'd advise you take a visit. Every time I travel to a new city I see if they have a LUSH shop. It smells sooo yummy as well!! :)

  • i feel bad that you paid that much for the one and it works as good as a 1$ shampoo :( but i guess its good that now you know that you can buy great products for cheap. do you still like the VO5?

  • @LilMakeUp I really do still like VO5 and use it often.

    Thanks for the comment. xo

  • I'm a hairstylist of 25 yrs & I've always told my clients to not spend much on anything that you wash down the drain. It's not on you hair or face long enough to really make a difference. Same for face cleansers. Just use whatever you like to get it clean--that's the point. No shampoo can give your hair volume--only a product that stays in your hair can do that.

  • @ANGELAATVANITY thats really good advice, thanks for sharing. :)

  • @yazmynarlene i recommend you do a seminar on product knowledge,to let you understand how importent cleansers and conditioners are for hair..you also want your clients to spend in your salon thorough your knowledge and to boost your turn over...i hope you imbrace this!!not ment as a dig!!......regards!

  • @ANGELAATVANITY "YOU ARE WRONG!"how can you say that???your not much of an ambassador for your trade to say that shampoos dont work?its up to you to recommend a salon home care programme for your client ,and preferably a system that you have tried and tested in your salon,ie..(wella sp.loreal kerastase.moroccan oil)you cant use "WHAT EVER YOU LIKE"on your hair after spending so much money on color and styling.its the least you could do for your client,...

  • I've been using VO5 most of the time for many years and it's great.

  • It's more silicone in the cheaper products, which makes the hair more shiny right away, but doesn't really do anything in a longer period of time. I have gone to hairdressing school and one of the teachers said this.

  • What what the name of the song at the beginning of your video?

  • love your bathroom.

  • high fives. great tip, and your hair is shiny! (that mark up is high!!) and vo5 has great smells

  • *rust off pennies* Still want to be putting that in your hair? I have worked with many professional brands and I would HIGHLY suggest BUMBLE AND BUMBLE. You can only find it in select salons or on their website. Beware if you see it being sold anywhere else (I have seen it at Target) because it is actually counterfeit (there is a whole explanation on the bumble and bumble website). I am an experienced hair stylist who works in a high end salon, so please take my advice :)

  • What store shampoos do are coat your hair with wax to make it appear shiny and healthy but what it really does is suffocate it. You will notice your hair will feel limp, it will not hold curl and say goodbye to your color (because of the high PH, it will slowly strip it right out). There have been tests done and Tresseme, Pantene etc. etc. can actually clean rut off of pennies and oil off of the streets.

  • Wella is an awful professional line and VO5 is also awful...store bought shampoos (pantene, tresseme, etc.) are loaded with water, waxes and sulfates. You may not notice the difference because you have only used it once but if you continue to use it I promise you will notice a horrible difference in your hair.

  • i know it's amazing.V05 is a wonderful product,everyone should try it.$1.00 people that's all.

  • @annboo86 VO5 is amazi g and cheap! Love it. Smells good too

  • @lanaindiana im so happy that it works so well honey.because my hair is very curly......peace.

  • not to brag, but i get stopped and complimented on my hair every day! i have gorgeous, untreated, natural highlighted (red, gold blonde, brown) hair down below my butt. i use the 1.00 shampoo of my choice but i HAVE to use Panteen Smooth Conditioner. It is the ONLY conditioner that keeps my hair from tangling. i have a lot of hair, but very fine and silky. CHEAP SHAMPOOS WORK!

  • there's nothing wrong with supermarket / inexpensive / off the shelf shampoos, conditioners, other hair products.

The way i see it is, if something works for you, it works for you. if your hair is generally healthy (normal) to begin with, inexpensive shampoos works just fine.

However, if you have bleached the crap out of it, and if it's extremely damaged, then that is when you'll need more than just supermarket haircare products (Professional salon-only products) as they're more concentrated.

  • @aunhua05 Well Said! xox

  • Just watched a few of your marvelous videos Lana. You are entertaining, informative and lovely. I am your age and would love to see recommendations for makeup. Do you remember Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific? If you haven't you ever checked out The Vermont Country store online you might enjoy it. Lots of retro products you cannot get anywhere else. So fun. A fellow Hoosier. So sorry about your mother. Peace.

  • @grocerymouse Oh, I loved that shampoo and your hair DID smell terrific! The boys in school loved it too. Thanks for your kind words xox

  • Personally..V05 is like the WORST on my hair.

  • Hello Lana,

Just discovered your videos... Luv, Luv !

Question: Do you use anything in particular to tone down yellow/brassiness in your hair? I've noticed that the crown is the same tone as the length. My hair is your length and I bleach also but over time my length gets very gold/brassy and the crown remains a pale blonde, very uneven. I just love your hair color ! Also, do you experience severe tangling when you shampoo? This is another issue I have .....

    Luv your videos :-)

  • @mizzmanatee Sorry, just found this message. Could you have some issues in your water like rust or metals? I use my Prell and Lemonade Kool-Ade for the metal issues from my pool that makes my hair a bit green or orange-y looking. That will strip the metals out and your hair will feel terrific! Check the video section for that tip in full. Smooches

  • Good comparison post. I'm trying to switch to a cheaper shampoo to save money and this is encouraging!

  • Hi Lana, Thanks for gracing Utube with your beauty and wisdom! It's true about the formulations working the same, whether they are expensive or not. Johnsons' Baby soap bar works AMAZINGLY on a sensitive scalp, and leaves the hair clean and shiny and it's only pennies compared the the sulfate-free shampoos I am used to paying big bucks for.

  • Im african american and i woud spend over 500 bucks on professional shampoos and conditioners when my hair was relaxed.... then i bought v05 because people told me it does just as well.... and v05 actually worked better.. i bought the same kind you bought... isnt that crazy???????????

  • Darling you should try the Kerastase Line by Loreal, and deff some Morrocan oil line and you will deff want to make the investment, because thats what i think about hair products, you make the investment for Lumedia and StiVectin SD it works the same for your hair i love these lines and i am sure you will love them too

  • I'll check that out. Thanks for the tip! xox

  • @SoFreshSoClean81 I love Kerastase. Its a luxury brand thats totally worth buying. Pureology which is a Loreal company now is great too and much easier to find.

  • vo5 is a really good shampoo

  • omg go girl, u look sooo young xD

  • Just wanted to say you look amazing for 53....you go girl!!!!!!!

  • they also sell v-05 at the local dollarstore!

  • however, Loreal, I think it's Loreal, started making a sulfate free shampoo available in drugstores. I wish I could remember the exact name of it. You can find it in a wal-mart. I haven't tried it yet. I am satisfied with the results I get from cheap shampoos. But if you have dry, color treated hair you might want to try it out.

  • it's called l'oreal everpure and the shampoo & condtioner are awesomeeee

  • Drug store shampoos usually contain an ingredient called Sulfate, lauryl sulfate, ammonium lauryl sufate, or something similar.. this is the ingredient that suds up but its very drying to the hair. Many professional products are doing away with the use of sulfates...

  • the only difference I know with salon shampoos vs. drug store brands is that usually you can get a "sulfate free" shampoo at the salon.

  • you can get l'oreal everpure sulfate free shampoo at drug stores

  • YAY FOR VO5!!!

  • We spend alot to keep the DEAD hair looking ALIVE..... Kinda funny when you look at it from that perspective.....

  • The best trick for shiny hair i´ve learned is when you finished washing and conditioning your hair then give the rinse to your hair with the coldest water oyu can take. First it is really good for blood circulation of your scalp and then it also closes all hair cells that been opened by hot water and products and really helps your hair look shiny. Been doing it for years and it works! :)

  • What a Great Tip!

Thank You. So simple yet it has to work. My Grandma used to tell me that but I didn't believe her! I am going to try this.

    XOXO

  • I found the same thing. Sometimes the cheaper shampoo does leave a build up in my hair, but if I mix about a tbsp of baking soda in a palm full of shampoo every once in a while, it takes out the build up. I also love suave's clarifying shampoo. It takes out the build up, smells great, doesnt dry hair and costs about $1-2. Lana I just love your videos! :-)

  • I will have to try that baking soda tip.

I think spending tons of money on designer shampoos is a waste. xoxo

  • you can also add a very few drops of vinegar to your regular shampoo (bee careful with that) and that makes you a clarifying shampoo from your regular shampoo.

  • My friend and I were at the drug store the other day and saw that same brand for $0.99 each!! So we decided to try it and see how it works. Now I usually use Redkin and to be honest, I can't tell the difference either! It's crazy. My hair might be even MORE softer. So cheap ones are definitely just as good. :)

  • Yay for VO5! Cheap but effective!

    Smells nice too xoxox

  • Your hair IS shiny! I would rather spend my money on a good anti aging moisturizer, or chemical peels than on shampoo. Although I AM trying the Wen Conditioner right now (for 2 weeks) and I'm loving it. It's higher than drugstore but it sure isn't $165. I haven't made my final decision on whether it's better than shampoo. Thanks for the video!

  • i agree...i switch shampoos and buy the average ones and never see a difference

  • You're so sweet, thank you.

Our water in Indiana is actually very hard and filled with chemicals. I over condition and that helps a bit.

Thank You for the super sweet comment.

  • Shampoo makes a difference for me because I use more sulfate free. Most drugstore shampoo's dry my hair out. But it is great that you found one that works for you!

  • ya know.. As far as how it makes your hair feel and look its is close. But I wont buy any store bought shampoo or conditioners even though IMA BROKE HILLBILLY I have super long hair. haha I will tell you why.

Stores with the less expensive shampoos and cond. use alot of Mica as fillers to make up for volume.Mica makes your hair split and break off. Just an fyi. just so you know. Oh is what my hair stylist told me .. I KNOW shes not a prophet.. so I may be wrong

  • Love you Lana! You are so right. Thanks for making this video!

  • hi lana, its ok i'll try some other cheap shampoo lol imagine you sending a dollar shampoo and a dollar conditioner ..that will cost u gods knows in postal charges i just get obsessed with something and really want it lol thankyou lana xxx

  • love you Lana!!! you are totally right! I have tried them all and the lower priced ones work as well or better in some cases...but of course I haven't tried the $150 one...wow!!!

  • Totally agree!!! The cheap ones are just as good if not even better! I like the Fructis Line or the L'Oreal Vive Pro Line!!!!!!

  • I use the V05 also. The difference that I found is that it's not concentrated- like most high end shampoos- so you have to use more- still for $1.00 it's worth it. I've noticed that V05 is also not as good as it was years ago- I think it's more watered down now. I think it's worth it to spend money on deep conditioners, there's a difference when you use those. Thanks for the review!

  • I agree! I have read from several different reliable sources (and have experienced for myself) that there is very little difference in chemistry and ingredients from the cheap shampoos to the very expensive salon brands! Thanks for getting the real news out there!

  • Hi Lana, thanks so much for this video and spending the money to do a comparison for us. I ALWAYS LOVE your vids! Take care.xx

  • I have always used VO5 off and on and my hair looks good

  • I use Joico K-pak. I use to use cheap shampoo. I've noticed a big difference in my hair when using this and when i switch I find my hair is not happy.

  • Great video, but so sorry you spent tons of money on that shampoo! *big hugs*

I'm a faithful Redkens user. I've tried the cheap stuff, but my hair doesn't like it at all! LOL Redkens ranges from $12-16 each so not cheap, but not too pricey either.

  • I got this technique from a hairdresser friend.

    1. Rinse hair really, really well.

    2. Wash hair and rinse. 3. Wash hair again and let lather sit in hair for a bit before rinsing out so that it can breakdown all the products we put in every day.

    4. Rinse and condition as normal.

I find this gets my hair super clean, shiny and full of body

  • What do you use the Lemonaid kool aid and prell shampoo for?

  • yes wella is a good brand, just seems a little pricey in the usa! you could try redken , love your vids xxxxx

  • wonderful! thanks Mary

  • great review lana! im running out of shampoo so im absolutely gonna try that VO5 shampoo and conditioner...=)

  • Hi Lana thanks for your review on these products. I have been spending a fortune lately on hair care products. :o)

  • Yes, checked. Kerastase is made by Loreal.

  • But Loreal makes a lot of stuff: Lancome, Biotherm, Helena Rubinstein, Kerastase, Keraskin, Kiehls, Sanoflore, Armani cosmetisc and lot more. Have you ever asked yourself why if one of those brands comes out with a new product there might be similar products found in other related brands? The difference is the price and brand´s and product´s name. So have anyone ever tested the real difference?

  • Yes, Lana, you can get Kerastase in the U.S. Personally, I do not care for it. I am a devoted Phyto fan. I will be blogging about it once I get motivated. Actually, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Kerastase is actually made by Loreal?

  • Wella, not a good product. At all....

  • ur such a great person! I really love this experiment!

  • there is a trade off when you use a good shampoo and a drug store brand they balance each other out. you dont always have to use the most expensive to get the best out of your hair but it is good to switch every few days between two or three shampoos to get all your hair needs.

btw, someone called into to qvc with dennis basso last night and i swear it sound like YOU. they had your name and location. :)

  • Ha! Wasn't me. I have an early flight out and was snoozing by 10:30. Thanks for the great comment tho. xoxox

  • Great Video !

    Thanks for sharing :)

  • haha i love the 10 for $10 deal at kroger.. did you know you don't really have to buy 10?? even if you buy one, its still $1 :)

  • i thought expensive and drugstore hair products were the same until i started using fekkai. that stuff is worth every penny to me.

  • Great job Lana. I work as a sales rep for BSG, they are the largest distributor of salon beauty products in the world. So, I get a chance to try it all. Not crazy about Wella, love Pravana (sulfate free), but I also love VO5. Also Argan oil from Sally's is great for dry ends, its $1.99, and a little goes a long way.

  • Oh, if only I could use that wonderful Herbal Essence shampoo that I used in the 70s. Why did they do away with it...

  • Sweet! Thanks!

  • I stopped buying expensive shampoo, I just felt that it was a waste. You could buy regular shampoo and cond and then splurge on a nice deep cond. treatment. SO you get the best of both worlds LoL.

  • Bless you, Lana,

I was about to drop beaucoup bucks on some really expensive stuff!

    xxoo

  • i use tresemme and i love it so much! it makes my dry hair super soft! :)

    <33

  • Oh I so adore you Lana!! More videos please!! :) xx.

  • Lana i get complemented on my hair all the time-I used to have beautiful hair. until the gray took over lol.. i have not seen my natural hair color since 1972.. its been all shaded of red-a little blue- and some purple .. then i gave up my hair always looked old after i hit 50.. until i started using dandruff shampoo/rusk calm conditioner and chi mist! all tj max!i was a hairdresser and I DISPISE WELLA. i will not use their hair colors..(coats the hair way to much) god bless CHI! lol x shelly

  • I have found that there are two types of shampoo: color-safe and non-color-safe. Beyond that distinction they are all pretty much the same.

In contrast, I've found huge differences between conditioners. On my curly hair, I can really tell the difference. But I've found cheap good ones and expensive bad ones and vice versa!

  • I ran out of my pro shampoo one day and used my brothers vo5 and i couldn't tell the difference either! now I only use the vo5 over my $100 shampoo and conditioner.

  • how do you keep yourr skin from sagging and getting wrinkles? you loook 27

  • Good Grief! What a compliment!

I have shoes that are 27! I have wrinkles and sag, bag, & drag.

Good skin care starts early. I began using good moisturizers in my 20's and I truly think it paid off. xoxoxo

  • Yeah I love Herbal Essences I always keep at less 3 different shampoo...you don't suppost to used 1 shampoo 3 times in a row

  • I think switching shampoos is key to good hair. xoxo

  • I've probably used every shampoo/conditioner on the market and I can't tell significant difference in any of them. I usu buy cheap shampoo and use Frederick Fekkai glossing cond on my hair (which I get at TJ Maxx for less that half of retail cost). I also use argan oil 1-2 X per week. Most people couldn't tell I color my hair or use heat products b/c my hair is so healthy and shiny! I also take prenatal vitamins (even though I'm not preggos b/c they make hair and nails look fabulous)!!

  • I use the Fakkai gloss and love it. The Argan oil made my hair so greasy looking but also so shiny. Perhaps I used too much? Ohhhh, the pre-natal vitamins.. What a Great idea!

Might confuse the hubby....preggo at 54!

    LOL

  • Lana your hair is so beautiful, do you ever wear it all the way down? You always have it pulled to the side and I would love to see it down around your shoulders just once.... :-)

  • I have worn it pulled up on the sides forever. I will put it all down in an upcoming video. I can really look....

well... sleazy with all the blonde hair and makeup so i think for me, the sides pulled back gives a softer look. Let me know what you think when I do that in a video, ok? I don't have a sister close by to tell me so I'm counting on YOU!

  • I always use cheap shampoo but I do invest in a good conditioner. I have long, thick hair and I color it myself and people think I either have fake hair or that I spend hundreds at the salon. NOT! I have to be frugal. LOL.

I also have to buy two boxes of haircolor because my hair is so thick so I buy it when it is on sale and when I have coupons so I usually spend about 7 bucks every 8 weeks to color my hair. I spend 23 on a trim and I deep condition my hair once a month

  • Good for you! Amazing that you have that much hair and can do it yourself.

    Great Comment! xoxox

  • I've actually been using "Para Mi Bebe", this baby shampoo my grandme used when i was a baby. Its cheap and it works <3 Plus, i smell like a clean baby!

  • I just bought the VO5 shampoo in Strawberries & Cream, and it smells delish!

  • There are SO many scents to chose from in that VO5 line! I am anxious to try them all!

  • hello lana, another great video !! <3

i heard you say you use herbal essences ? so do i but i keep hearing from people that they test on animalls :S

i dont know if thats true ? do you?

    thanks lana xxxxx

  • Clairol tests on animals. However, they claim that they do not test the Herbal Essences line on animals.

    Kind of stupid....

  • Lisa~

Hello! I don't know if they test on animals or not. I certainly hope not! So many that did previously, don't any longer after we, the consumer boycotted those very products. NO ANIMAL TESTING!!

  • Thanks for an honest and eye-opening review. Some things are worth paying a little more for - clearly that product is not. <3 ya Lana!

  • I love shampoos that smell great :) That's what I base my shampoos & conditioners on ^_~

  • your lighting is awesome and you are soo pretty!

  • Thank You~ So Sweet!

    xoxox

  • very great video!

  • I'm not shocked that you discoved this. Most shampoos are the same, just the price changes. I have VERY thick hair and nothing works good enough with my hair but VO5 is cheep and it goes a long way for you money. I could never spend $100.00 on a shampoo.

  • Well, it was one of my dumber moves. I will save my hard earned money for Makeup or SHOES!

  • lol i should do that I need shoes I only have 8 pairs and 5 of them are flip flops :)

  • There is no helping my wonderous massive mane of fuzzy curls but I love watching you anyways so here I am! You look gorgeous as always! xxG

  • Gina~

Oh, but that glorious mane of gorgeous curls just work for YOU! You are a beauty.

Love to you and those sweet kids! xoxox

  • im going to try this..i pay a fortune for shampoo especially as i have 2 daughters with long hair too ..love ya lana xx

  • VO5 does work very very well and they have amazing scents. I've often wondered why it is so cheap, it's just as good as salon quality products!

  • I was amazed by it after using it for a week. So inexpensive but so effective and the smell is amazing! xoxox

  • wella is quite cheap here in the uk, xxx

  • Is Wella a good name there in the UK? I found it impossible to find and then so expensive and not all that wonderful. xoxox

  • Thank you for this video, it's so true, I've bought Kerastase shampoo systems before now for a lot of money but the best shamppo & conditioner I found for me is herbal essences hello hydration & it was buy one get one free for £2 (about $3) and it is fabulous, best of all it smells like Pina coladas :) the same was true with creme de la mer, bought it for the hype but made my skin feel greasy and icky, i use Bio-oil instead and it's great & no breakouts!! Keep being fabulous xx

  • Can you get the Kerastase in USA? I've heard of it but never tried it.

Thank You for the great comment. xoxo

  • great review. and I know what you mean, some products are not wortht he money at all. I bought the whole ojon set for my hair, and nothing, it felt brittle and dry at the end, returned to my $8 or $6 if on sale drugstore shampoo/conditioners and masks and a few days later my hair was back to being great again. Spent $100 on the ojon set, and I'm just going to give the rest away now. suppost to be great for some people. for me, horrible.

    great video and review!

    .at

  • Wow! Ojon will NOT be on my shopping list any time soon. sounds dreadful!

    Stay Fabulous xoxox

  • Love the opening and Closing music!!!!!!!

  • Hi sweet, beautiful Lana, I also use Herbal Essences and I get compliments all the time. My sister tells me my hair smells great always. I don't want to change it for now!!! hugs....

  • Hello gorgeous!

If it's working for you, I sure wouldn't change it!

    Triple Hugs for YOU!

  • awesome video!!!!

i was about to buy some nice salon shampoo and hair stuff but after i saw this i'm gonna stay with herbal essenesss stuff! thanks soo much! :)

  • xoxox <333

  • Hey Lana thanks for the review, I will give Vo5 a try once my Ginormous bottles of tresseme are out. Hahah I like to switch back and forth between tresseme and something else. I get tired of the same scent forever. =p

  • Mel~

I think it's good for your hair to switch off too. I walk around confused most days, why not confuse my hair as well???

PS. LOVED your last video. You always make me laugh. Love to Jersey and Draik.

  • Thanks Lana. =)

Have you ever went to Atlantis?

  • i've just recently started using the ion daily moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and i've decided that i actually like my hair better with my herbal essences featherweight shampoo; great video, as always:)

  • Herbal Essence hair products are the bomb! Can never go wrong using them. xoxoxox

  • I found salon shampoo though more expensive than drugstore brands, only need a small product to cleanse the hair, hence the life of the shampoo for both the salon and drugstore brands tends to last about the small. So I think the price is not an issue for me, it's more about preference. I tend to interchange between salon and drugstore brands.

  • So true. I like to switch from medium brands, cheap and salon brands. Keep this hair of mine guessing! xoxox

  • awesome!!!!

i am using the CHI infra shampoo and it doesnt lather!! and everyday when i use it i never feel like my hair is clean lol ;)

THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO :)

  • I'm so old school. No bubbles, no clean in my little head so give me some good lather and I'm happy! xoxoxo

  • You're amazing, and so wonderful and awesome! I'm 18 years old and I can't live without Herbal Essences and Sunsilk, and they're pretty inexpensive too!! Thank you for your wonderful videos!!

  • You're so sweet and so very welcome. I think just use what you like but it doesn't HAVE to cost the price of a small country!

    xoxoxo <333

  • Kroger 10 for 10 for the win! lol I freakin' love those sales! :) :) I haven't tried that VO5 yet...I'm going to have to try it out. :)

  • Dontcha just love a good Kroger deal?

It took me two years to realize that you have to buy TEN items to get them for the $1.00 tho... duh

  • no way- I was broke one day so I bought V05 and it left a residue on my hair. The conditioner did nothing! And I have virgin hair- no dye, no highlights, no straightner.... NOTHING! If you didn't notice anything yet, you will after time! Maybe your "expensive" shampoo is all hype so that's why you didn't notice a difference. Plus, the more lather a shampoo has, the crappier it is so don't use that as a measure of judgement.

  • I guess everyone's hair is different. The cheap stuff works for me so i will use it along with some better salon products and switch them out. You are smart to have and keep that "virgin" hair. I have no clue what my real color even is anymore. I guess just dirty dishwater blonde.

    Thanks for the comment. xoxoxo

  • You are just glowing today! I'm missing your makeup tutorials, will you do the look w/the products you used today? I am a WEN girl, I have blonde highlights and my hair has never looked so healthy and shiney....

  • How is it that I missed all the word on WEN??? Everyone is talking about it and I have no clue what it is... i need to get out more! xoxox

PS. I'll get back to more makeup tutorials asap. hugs... xoxoxo

  • I miss Revlon's OUTRAGEOUS shampoo..Does anyone remember that shampoo? It smelled soooo good. I wish they would bring that back.

  • It is still around in Canada, however they changed the bottles. They aren't the round ones anymore, they actually look like the VO5 ones but they are still black and still super cheap! It still smells the same!! :-D

  • @MissNewKabuki i loved that shampoo it smelled like perfume.

  • i alway buy my boys the VO5 shampoo. Well now im going to raid their bathroom and try it out. thanks for the post =)

  • I started off with cheap shampoo, but sodium laurel sulfate and ammonium are not good for hair and made mine fall off more than usual..so now I switch nioxin and japanese brand shampoo, both are around $20 each..last me along time since only 2-3 x's/wk

  • I had no idea! I usually just grab what I can throw in my cart but I am going to try to be more aware of what I am using.

Thank You for the wonderful comment.

  • Forgive this comment for it will be all over lol. Pantene does that to my hair too, gunky nasty and hair loss yuck! Believe it or not, suave makes the best clarifying shampoo I have ever found.(only thing I like from them)

Vo5 is a great brand for everyday care, I LOVE it! Glad you posted this 163.00 lesson hugs! And finally, to the lady that said lets not forget the rent in Bev Hills is expensive too, well ya but you don't exactly need to rub that in do you?She didn't mention it, why do you?

  • omg, you are so beautiful! and thank you so much for this vid!

  • Thank You for saying that... SO Sweet!

  • Thanks Lana for another very useful video!!

I have very dry, curly misbehaving hair and it loves Tresseme stuff. Pretty cheap, big bottle and does the work very well!

  • i wouldnt even consider spending that much on shampoo,etc.. thats crazy! you should go to sallys and get "Quantum" thats what i use and it is so amazing :)
