@zackysynguitargods - I have to agree with @greenlightbandit. This barking is not cute or funny. Encouraging and letting your dog bark at neighbors is not being a responsible dog owner. I feel sorry for your neighbors and your dog.
@BarkingMadNC I can't help him. We have tried. We didn't get him until he was 8 months old because his "oweners" didn't want him any more. Just like the other dogs they have bought and given away. We have tried everything to shut him up. Squirt bottle, holding his mouth closed. Nothing works. And sometimes it is cute. Not your dog, so leave me alone.
@zackysynguitargods - He's still young... perhaps consult with a professional dog trainer? You are right, its not my dog and you are not my neighbor but I live next door to barking dogs and it's the worst thing I've ever experienced. Used to be on good terms with my neighbors...until I asked them to keep the dog quiet so I could get some sleep after almost 2 years of suffering from severe sleep deprivation. So far they've received 2 citations for animal noise ordinance violations.
@BarkingMadNC You're acting like he does this all the time. He does not. It's only when he sees someone he doesn't know. He do not bark during the night. We know a woman who use to show dogs and the things that she has suggested doesn't work. His previous owners never socialized him, which is a pain in the ass to deal with.
@zackysynguitargods Now I understand. That is the problem with my neighbors. They had no clue about socializing their dogs, couldn't even housetrain them so ended up putting them in the yard 24/7. The one dog was a chronic barker when they got him at 4 months old, & he just got worse like barking 20 hours a day, barking at the wind blowing & any movement or sound. They ruined those dogs & now they are just a pain in the ass. It was rough. Now, as you can tell, I'm very sensitive to barking.
how about you shut your dog up?

PS - Good luck with training and socializing Deisel. He's lucky you got him before he was totally ruined like my neighbors did to their dogs.

@zackysynguitargods - I'm sure if you keep working with him he'll eventually get the idea!
