  • A beautiful classic!

  • What a great ending to a terrific movie. I believe her emotions shown here reflect her real emotions (many of them mixed) she felt at that time. They loved each other so much. Thanks for posting.

  • Yo creo que esta es la mejor versión del tema "Indian love call" I have never heard. When I was 15 years old I heard this famous song by Nelson Eddy and Jeanette Mac Donald. Me gustó tanto que cada vez que la escucho me quedan ganas de escucharla una y otra vez más. Saludos desde Bogotá. Colombia

  • This really brings back memories. I first heard it as a child on an old 78 record.

  • Goodness me , Ms Macdonlad's 3rd above harmonies are electric- '...I will be blue and waiting all alone...; The two notes on the word 'blue' - send shivers down the spine! Also, how they both perfectly shift between main melody and harmony in the final verse, simply adds to the beauty of this inestimable lovesong.

  • I wonder how they would sound with all todays modern equipment-as they are with sound equipment being what it was they still manage to be head and shoulders above any modern singers xxx

  • Miss MacDonald... I think I was ten when I first fell in love with her... this reminds me not of America, Im British, but of my childhood and now at 54yrs I can honestly say that the reality of my life has come as nothing to that dream in my childhood.

  • I'm related to him :)

  • My grandmother absolutely loved Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy, and I see why. I am a musician in the Chicago area and truly appreciate the greatness of this work. America was such a different place then!

  • This was my grandfather's absolutely favorite song period. He always whistled this song,no other one. I still miss his whistling after all this time. This song brings very fond memories of him to me. Makes me smile not sad. : )

  • Imagine listening to this at the time. We have here a classic with a really powerful performance by these two artists. Remember we would not have been spoilt with modern technological enhancements. This was raw talent, at the time this would have been a real designer music identity statement.

  • Thank you for the fond memories of time gone by, I used to work the overnight shift and watch the late late show with Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald, what great stories and singing!

  • different America? Oh how the world has changed!

  • Thanks for taking the effort to put together such an enjoyable vid of better times past.

  • This has always been one of my favorite duets. It is a masterful production, done by two of the most enduring musical film vocalists of all time.. They could ACT, too. This version, is in a class by itself. I'll be humming it all day tomorrow. THANK YOU for sharing this beautiful post.

  • I have an oringal 78 record of these two singing this,,

  • Mrkingsrow, thank you for posting this spine tingling, beautiful music. My older sisters talked about Nelson Eddy, and I must have have remembered it w/o knowing it, as my brothers name was Eddy. It far exceeds anything on the market today. Thanks a bunch! Jan from Georgia

  • thanks for posting. One of my all time favorites. they sang this song at Jean Harlow's funeral One of her favorite songs

  • I'm the one who must thank you for posting!!

  • These two great artists always bring tears to my eyes with their incredible talents. Especially when I remember that our culture has now embraced the baser and decadent aspects of entertainment , rather than true artists like Jeanette and Nelson .

  • Loved both of them - great together!!

  • MARS ATTACK SOUNDTRACK

  • What a different America we had back then and a different culture. How sad that it's all gone now.

  • @LosAngeleno1959

Human nature never changes but our perception of it does. The lens we see it through is the media.

  • I agree !!!!!!!!

  • @LosAngeleno1959 Don't I count for something ?? I agree with your assessment of our Country

    and it's culture, though !

  • @LosAngeleno1959 but finally i have to reply that industry is only producing what people are willing to se. so it depends on ALL OF US to ignore shit. i do not have ONE cd or lp from madonna, lady gaga.. beyonce.... etc.etc. this is all aside of my taste of music.....
