Im not sure what method they used to actually take my car to their place but its about 8 miles away. When i was picking up my car the first night i saw this truck driver speeding up like crazy pulling a mini van to the lot driving either a hook and chain or a wheel-lift truck so i believe that's what they used to tow mine.
@AguilaJR I'm no expert, but I watch enough of the shows and have family in Breakdown Recovery, If it's FWD and you had in gear, it's very possible they just dragged it and the gearbox got mashed. I'd get it checked out ASAP and see if you can get compensated from them.

Professional Parking Services is in Tallahassee, FL. People don't understand that this towing company is run by a bunch of crooks. They towed my car from my own residence because I had an expired tag; I later found out that someone stole my current tag. They tried to charge me $88 also. Later that night, I reported my stolen tag to the police, and the officer told me what P.P. Services did was illegal, and that he's tired of them. Kudos to these guys for paying them in pennies.

@ryansoper it's a 5 speed FWD..it was on first gear with the parking brake on..by the way i was park it was only possible for them to get it from the rear wheels. Im not sure what method they used to actually take my car to their place but its about 8 miles away. When i was picking up my car the first night i saw this truck driver speeding up like crazy pulling a mini van to the lot driving either a hook and chain or a wheel-lift truck so i believe that's what they used to tow mine.

@AguilaJR I'm no expert, but I watch enough of the shows and have family in Breakdown Recovery, If it's FWD and you had in gear, it's very possible they just dragged it and the gearbox got mashed. I'd get it checked out ASAP and see if you can get compensated from them.

@ryansoper the car has been in the shop for a week already... if it was the gearbox.. would the car still be able to drive (which I did from the tow yard to to the mechanic) and idk if it would have anything to do with the blown headgaskets...i also got the water pump broken and bad thermostat.

Professional Parking Services is in Tallahassee, FL. People don't understand that this towing company is run by a bunch of crooks. They towed my car from my own residence because I had an expired tag; I later found out that someone stole my current tag. They tried to charge me $88 also. Later that night, I reported my stolen tag to the police, and the officer told me what P.P. Services did was illegal, and that he's tired of them. Kudos to these guys for paying them in pennies.

That being said, all businesses that might experience this kind of crap should keep a small scale around. Get a larger container, weigh it. Count out 100 pennies, weigh it and multiply by 88, add value of large container. Put all pennies in large container, weigh the whole thing. If it's close to equal, take em. If it's less by more than 1% send his ass back to the bank. Jokes on the jackass if you keep a cool head.

There is no Federal statute mandating that a private business, a person, or an organization accept currency or coins as payment for goods and/or services. Private businesses are free to develop their own policies on whether or not to accept cash unless there is a state law that says otherwise. I don't remember the exact charge, but the cops can charge you with whatever they want. Whether it sticks in court is another story. But these cops here were just being nice. It will be different depending on your state and what not.

Its not a matter of whether or not you're using valid currency. The police and charge and arrest you in AZ for doing this if they so choose. It has happened to people before who have tried to pay with pennies out of revenge. I think someone was fined and arrested for some kind of public disturbance.
