You cant grab by the torso but you can throw by the neck and you can sweep or takedown grabbing a kicking leg. Also, Thais are allowed to use knees and elbows in a way that Sanda fighters are not used to.

Because these fights have unified rules (catch all rules) I think that all in all none of the fighters is in disadvantage and it's pretty balanced.
