Come see Jessie Kilguss and her band on Sunday, May 15 at BayFest 2011, south Brooklyn's big new music celebration with performances by 20 bands, dance troupes, and other entertainment! Check out our YouTube page for a preview of bands you'll see and visit our website (lower left of the YouTube page) for directions, band links, etc. See you at BayFest 2011 on 5/15!
This achingly beautiful video is full of insight and sadness. Kilguss has a glorious voice; it's like listening to a harmonic choir. The images are gorgeous and moving: the eroticism of the voluptuous iris unfolding, the solitary cup of tea. It's like a photo album from a sad, silent woman longing for a man who has no time for her. (If you have to ask "Do you love me?" you already know the answer.) Time moves too fast, but loneliness is glacially slow. This video is revelatory.
