The kinks are on fire for this song. Norah does a great version of it but she cant quite nail the emotion of the kinks vocalist. I like this a lot but not quite as much as the original cause it is just so damn good.

agreed - the song is always great - but it takes a more bruised & battered soul to sing it true. Warren Zevon coulda done it. Billie Holiday. etc...

Norah is able to "live and feel" this song. So it was right to make a cover version of it. Although the Dave Davies version sounds more profound I like this one very much.

One of the best songs Dave Davies (of The Kinks) ever wrote and sang. From 1970!! Thanks for the post and yes nothing compares to The Kinks version.
