  • That marshall with the fire extinguisher is useless!!

I love how the guy stops on his bike & dumps it to run away..............stupid!

  • Haha when i searched for 2008 R6 Yellow with flames this isn't what I expected.

  • The fire just wont go out I thought it was goin to explode guess not

  • Does insurance cover this if its full coverage?

  • look like he was on fire for a bit there too!

  • Ooh Feck!

  • the fire extinguishers were making it worse haha

  • @duncanbayne ..oh maybe you will hold my hand bayney whilst you try and keep up with me on my busa eh? What has being wrapped up in cotton wool got to do with anything?? It's bloody common sense I would of thought. Your definition of 'safe' is worrying.. Yes it is 'safer' than the road for doing 'higher' speeds but not safer for your own well being if something like the aforementioned happens. I'm sure you would be the first to be crying out for rescue if you broke ya legs buddy!

  • Shit! Fraser, when you have a stack, you sure do it properly.

  • i like how it says copyright - you cant just copyright a video by saying it lol

  • my mate purcased the melted wrecked 07 R6 off Fraser, and after some hours spent repairing her she is now competing @ the victorian interclub series, her nickname is

Melty and her best time @ broadford is a 59.2 just 0.8 off the supersport lp record...

  • Great song, Why are the other bikers waving to it.

  • @JISINSANE3 they aren't waving to it... when u raise your hand in the air like that, it's letting all the other bikers behind you to slow down.

  • @moclarity Oh, LMFAO, I am pretty sure they won't miss it.

  • gas to much out of the corner=fire

  • r.i.p.

  • christ, why would you want to go for a track day where they don't have adequate emergency services?

  • @Rioghal07 Because it's safer than the road, and not everyone needs wrapping in cotton wool to be happy. If you ask nicely I'm sure someone will hold your hand down the straight ;-) Seriously, I've been to a practice day / trackday at Pukekohe and it was suicidally dangerous compared to Broadford, esp. the last corner onto the main straight, no runoff or anything, just a concrete wall if you f*cke up.

  • got tank sliders....

  • jesus fucking christ wheres the marshals whats this a trackday in India or something looks like the cirtuite organiser run over from his post to try and atempt to put a fire in which he clearly doesnt know what his doing then the riders mate turns up with priotity to try and put out the fire what a load of crap

  • they are knows for catching fire on falls but i didnt know the went up that easily.

  • its oil and shit burning u should throw blanket or thats not going to end before all the burnable stuff is gone =)

  • Looks like a cross between the 1930's and a third world circuit, crap marshalls/organisation, if i was hurt there i wouldnt let them fuckin touch me.

  • FLAMER!!!

  • get a steady hand mate!!!! i was missing out on some of the good action!

  • damn that was a nasty high-side

good thing you didn`t get hurt.....

    shame,nice bike!

  • Ah tough luck mate good vid though loved the second guy dropping his bike then running for the hills

  • if it was the last session of the day it wouldnt be too bad, but that looks like a full tank of fuel with cold tires... poor bloke, there goes 15 grand

  • Hey fraser, I went to the track again on Sunday and some dude low sided in front of me around the next turn.

No fireball, but the aprillia still looked cool sliding into the dirt.

  • que merda heim!

  • FOR A MOMENT THE FIRE ON HiS HELMET LOOKED LIKE A MOHAWAK!!! frazer looked really pissed of as he walked by his scorching R6

  • "I will not break in the turn... I will not break in the turn..... I will not break in the turn..." (Repeat 1000 times then do it again)

+1 on burying the bike in sand. At least he would've had parts left

  • The 'Mohawk of Fire' on that guys lid was so funny.

Poor guy, thats a real waste.

I would have been pounding those clowns with the extinguishers ... the made the fire worse.

If this happens to you, BURY YOUR BIKE IN SAND ... hopefully that's where you crashed.

It won't look pretty but you'll end up with more of your bike than this poor guy.

My guess is when the fire goes out there is nothing left but the chassis and the engine ... nobody is gonna want either :(

  • The brake discs looked ok.

  • still ride-able

  • j'aime

  • lol the others dont even care

  • Rules are you can't stop to help other riders. Its not that they don't care, its just that stopping on the track is dangerous and can result in more accidents.

  • I agree. I shouldn't have stopped. Something about seeing your mates head on fire makes you want to help though.

  • PS: feel for the rider

  • looks like they use two different types of extinguishers they should of used a B-C-E class red with a white band or label POWDER type not the blue one i seen but they were untrained anyway you could see that. but it was a great try good on them for having a go

  • C'est qui ces cons qui débarquent 10 minutes après et qui n'arrivent même pas à éteindre le feu ?

  • The R6's had an issue with the tank protruding too far out the side. In some cases in a crash, the tank would rupture. Looks like what happened here. Was this a novice class??? Why were other riders stopping on the track? Another rider target fixated and crashed, also.

  • Lol the extinguishers made it worse!!!

  • Its the tank that slides...fuel/sparks= fire

    not the frame

  • Same thing happened to mine April 07 T9 at Willow. Sad sad day...

  • VP-109 burns like that. My guess is he was using some type of exotic face fuel.

    Cheesy choice of music.

  • haha the bike farts at 1:56! LOL

  • lol the second yellow bike....

  • magnesium + foam extinguisher = the same thing as chlorine and cat litter... bigger hotter fire

  • lol that fire extinguisher is useless. It made the fire bigger! D:

  • lol they use the wrong fire extinguisher!

    (there are different types)

  • what the fuck is magnesium on this bike

  • the frame is a magnesium alloy mixture

  • i know that magnesium is lighter and stronger than steal but damn if it lights up that easy i think ima stay with the aluminum or steal

  • yeah I liked the weight reduction with the magnesium, but after watching a few of my friends bikes burn up like that I decided to stick with tig welded alum frames lol

  • yeah im thinkin so to because that bike probably would have been repariable if not for that frame lightin up

  • Only 10 more payments Left,,,,

  • holy crap

  • id cry

  • xD i think he need a new bike

  • ohhh nooo thats sooo sad!

  • So the gastank broke and sparks from bike set it on fire? Now kids, thats how you crash a bike =O

  • I take it this is an example of the infamous flaming R6 fuel tank?

  • FIRE MOHAWK lol look at his helmet it catches fire and looks like a mohawk haha awsome

  • délire povre r6

  • Foam would have worked a bit better

  • There wouldn't have been enough juice in a foam extinguisher to cool the magnesium, although if it was purely a petrol fire it would have been a little less effective than the dry chem.

  • LOLOLOLOL OMG AT 0:13

  • What about Tyre Warmers? ;)

  • on 0:12 u can see the brake light coming on...

  • lol @ 1:53

  • copyright my ass

  • that would suck

  • Comment removed

  • "MY F**KING HEAD'S ON FIRE!"

    XD

Ouch though, that's one hell of an end for any bike.

  • man his helmet was on fire for a bit too, that definately sucked

  • Or were you draggin the back brake?

  • Cold tyres?

  • a petty

  • I would be pissed at those marshalls. They have no idea how to use a fire extinguisher :\ If they knew you have to point the jet at the BASE of the flame, the damage wouln't have been that worse.. Instead they try to put it out from a distance and the air displacement of the jet only sucks more air into the flames :)

  • haha no kidding the one guy is just holding it and letting it spray all over the place haha

  • The Marshall did suck.

He should have used short burst on that as it looked like an ABC powder extinguisher. The majority of the powder didn't end up on the flames.

Short bursts allow the powder to smother as its designed to do. Plus its the wrong size, 2kg at most I'd expect to see a minimum of 9kg trying to fight that.

Then again if he'd have had a halon extinguisher it'd have been out in 5 seconds.

    Vive le Halon :(

  • I'm a marshall too, and the fire extinguishers we use are a lot bigger then that dinky toy in the clip :p I don't know which type we use, I'm not allowed to use them yet + You're right, I saw my dad (he's a marshall/fireman) extinguish a burning sidecar, and those things BURN :p 3-5 bursts underneath the fairing is enough :)

  • Man thats got to suck and watch your R6 burn!

That would of made me sick!!!!

  • r6's and r1's are my favorite bikes, if that was mine, i would probably have broken into tears.

i know a guy, who knows that guy, after that crash, he did buy another r6, but an older model, (06-07 have fuel tank problems). this video did almost put me off yamaha though, but, i still ily them

  • that bike could have been saved

  • Glad you are alright though.

    Thanks for Sharing it.

  • Danny was there that day and told me to check this video out, amazing, thanks Danny! Thanks for the tuition too!

  • wank stain you carnt ride then if you think r6 is gay dummy

  • Reason for loooong burn- that bike has a magnesium chassis! A herd of pissing elephants wouldn't put that out +frame members are probably full of nitro fuel. lol

  • Proba bly True! Ask your local fire service. The one thing you never put near hot magnesium is WATER!

    (Ask a Chemist!)

  • Actually sand/dirt is the best thing for a metals fire. This isn't always practicable though and in that case fire services do use water. Alot of it as the magnesium has to be cooled to stop igniting the petrol.

  • the damage doenst look to bad, i recon that will polish out. :D

  • Did you get anytrhing for the con rods, once the rest had melted? Really bad design fault, from Yamaha. Nothing should go up like that, with such a small slide. (I'm not saying that it was a piss weak get off, but it should have held out a little better than that.) I'm going to sound like an old man, here. Back in the good ol' days, you could cart wheel an FZ 750, and get back on it, and finish the race. It wouldn't handle too well, but at least it wouldn't explode !!!!

  • "Err Hello, is that Insurance Hotline?"

"Well you see it's like this..."

  • Japan KK

  • Yamaha should give you a brand new bike for making a shitty quality R6.

  • I raced there not long after that and it made a mess of the surface too.

  • should of been in a bicycle race.

  • Perhaps Yamaha should have foreseen this 'ongoing' problem , still happens to 2008 machines !

  • looks like they had fuel in the fire extinguisher

  • you got to be fuking kidding me keyboard worrior, thats all i can say cause i dont realy care what u think, are u related to jtuyuidi? cause i think u to should hook up and watch each other burn since you both know fire safty and all

  • It's just plastic and metal it can be replaced. You've obviously never had a decent flesh burn.

  • lol at yalex.. i cant believe some of the retards on the internet, i cant wait to see you in the news about how you burned to death idiot

  • YEAH!!! take your jacket off and beat that gas fueled fire out! jtuyuidi is an idiot.

  • What would you have done?

  • theirs nothing they could do when its that bad all you can do i let it burn unless you have fire hoses or alot of extinguishers

  • man i wish you were there maby u could have put it out for me? you must be superman or something close. see im not i would get horribly burnt. so ill let the bike burn cause i just happen to ride witha fire blanket in my pocket but i could not get it out yeahgood

  • using VP fuel? Looks intense. Glad You walked away.

  • Hey dickhead You get off the track before you get hit by other riders. At least he walked away to ride again.

  • they suck at puting out fire

  • thats for sure

  • Good on ya for having the stones to post your toys demise. Im glad my motard holds less fuel and doesn't have efi!! People need to remember marshals are not all that well trained too.

  • nothing like on the job training though LOL

  • poxa ;/ podia ser minha ela, ;/

    desperdecil total =S

    AISUDHSAIDHSAIDHUSA

  • Clasic man, I'm glad you didn't do that while riding my bike home! Ninja is going realy well too.

And you had a flame mohawk, that was cool!

  • ouch

  • Amazing how poorly trained and equipped a lot of motorsport staff are - if they knew how to sweep the flames properly they'd have taken that fire down with the first two 5lb Dry Chemicals.

it shows why dual agent is vital - 1 attacks with dry chemical to rapidly knock down the flames, a 2nd marshal has AFFF to blanket the fuel and stop the flash back & resultant 'chasing' of the flames seen above

  • BYE BYE R6

  • how did the fall happen? did rear tire lock up in turn??

  • na lost he rear and lack the skil to hold it lol

  • this is how you do it: /watch?v=Uztk5dUQaNw

I would've just ended up sliding on the track though. :)

  • dam that sucks, that was like a freak accident.

  • gutted! oh well your alive, looked like a visous highside

  • fek man ur head was on fire : 0

  • yea, the top of his helmet caught fire!fukkin nutz!

  • Was this bike written off then..... durrrrr

I loved the flaming helmet, GHOST RIDERRRR

  • Bloody hell, what crap fire extinguishers. If you were pinned under that bike it would have been ugly. Glad you are OK.

  • mate thats what i was thinking, would have been realy cool if i was lol

  • lmao good old petrol

  • WTF? Are they running on NAPALM >D

  • ahaha naw problem with the 06-07 R6 tanks...i know like 3 people who had theirs go up in flames racing with WERA, AMA and WMRRA

  • Sorry for the lost.....but no one hurt included you...regards

  • Are you using Jet fuel???? hahahaha

  • i was drinking red bull it gave me wings!!!

  • that bike was yours??? ops i hope you paid your insurance hehehehe sorry for the lost buddy!! T_T

  • did you ride it home ? hahhhaa

  • stay away from yamaha`s i say....

  • Awesome video. I noticed your Copr. Makes me wonder how you got Billy Joel's permission to attach his recording to your video. Must have cost you a fortune.

  • na man not on the music on the vid, some people coped to there acounts for views

  • Haha, I think you missed the Irony of using a copywritten song you don't have permission to use on a video you don't want people to copy...

  • dkeshler, ahahaha spot on m8

  • marshalls are fuckin useless

  • que putada jajajajaja

  • AMAZING SONG !!! :)

  • dry powder would have put it out faster and saved the bike..co2 in the wind was useless !!!

  • your tellin me lol

  • have they redesigned that gas tank yet?

  • Theres not a man on the planet who wants his helmet on fire ( even after a cheap thai hooker)

  • hahahah good man

  • Gutted dude!

my theory is that in the first 3 seconds he was more worried about the fire on hie head...

gotta get of the gas to tip it in too, though we all know that now

  • burn baby burn !!!

  • lol

  • sad--. the first seconds you could have saved the bike if you did loved it very much =P

  • R6R burn so easily when crash. A friend of my it happened.

  • huashuhuashhuash

  • Thats what I call a HOT LAP!

Just kidding mate I feel for you, the main thing is you and everone are ok. Keep riding you were looking good.

  • Man that sucks. At the track, insurance won't cover it right?

Good luck getting another one man.

  • hmm...... part it out on Ebay? lol

  • looking like it atm man

  • what is that song?

  • we didnt start the fire

  • Shut up -_-

  • mother fuck!!!!!!

  • Amazing how quickly the bike burst into flames.

The gas tank cracked really easily.

  • hmm, they should really have had a fire engine on standby, but I guess that would have been pricey??

I was expecting to see this fire crew race to the scene.

  • Thats exactly what i was thinking

  • Vraiment deg pour le proprio...

Mais, faut-il encore avoir les bons extincteurs...

  • just let it burn.... to bad it was trackday =( I guess no insurance will cover it?

  • i have a couple of photo's... of the damage...

  • wow, someone told me about this vid but i didn't believe it. i'm glad to see you walk away from it unscathed.

  • thanks man finly made my own vid lol

  • natural born stunt man you are!

  • good thing you copyrighted this shaky ass video. Who wouldn't want credit for those amazing camera skills.

What track was this? The corner workers there suck! took over a minute to get to the bike with fire extinguishers... and that's just when the video cuts out, and comes back on. So it was even longer. Why even have corner stations if they are going to be unmanned?

  • Hey wayne kerr the camera was zoomed in and he had no tripod. we were 100m+ away from the crash, so he did pretty good to record it. the track name in the title of the video genius..

  • This is at th Broadoford motorcycle complex in victoria australia. People around that area ar rough.

  • nothing is as rough as brisbane, woolloongabba
