Buff and Turnaround - Finish Hall

Hay guys,

I have a fender strat and am looking into a new guitar. I was originally going for a gibson but i was told that with gibson sometimes you are paying for more of the name than the quality. So I turned to PRS. What PRS guitar can give me a modernized sound of the gibson les paul? Thanks.

What sorta compound goes onto the buffing wheel to make it shine. Is it JUST the buffing wheel?
