  • lol everyone got pissed about the carrots ;)

  • she just ruined Thai panaeng by adding carrots.

  • @SuThaiCooking She said usually they don't put vegetables but she likes vegetables so she will add carrots. If you only listen first.

  • @Pitinginatay

I can tell from your poor knowledge about this dish. We, Thai people here in Thailand, never add carrots. We do add some different veggies but never be carrots. That's what I mean.

  • very good

  • Oh! I've been shocking by you. It seem not Thai food. I'm Thai in mother land.

  • i love the daughter

  • sweet mom

  • No carrot. This is a modification. Not authentic.

  • carrot?????

  • 0:19 "well, for panang nigga.." WTF! Ô.ô

  • @homemplantaVEVO u got retarded ears?

  • Everyone cooks a little differently and this video serves it's purpose of giving you a GENERAL idea of how Panang Curry is made. They use beef, but you can use chicken, tofu or whatever.

To Patgrap, it was mentioned 2x in the video that carrots are not typically used in Thailand and that it was just the cooks preference (i.e., don't use them if you don't want to). To graemea67, use whatever amount of basil you like.

Thanks for this video....I certainly appreciate the information.

  • peanut butter?!

  • OMG!! Panang with carrot .You never find it in thailand

  • i think food always tastes better when sombody else does the cooking and you just eat it ready to go. its psychological i think

  • her voice makes me want to fuck her.... anyone else experiencing the same fucked up thing?

  • Well you don't have to add carrots because i've never eat Panang with carrots. Well i'm thai and i see this a little bit different from the original. But interesting:)

  • Many people watch your videos, why not post your link to EZHUH.COM get paid for the people watch and make videos.

  • There should be no carrots or peanut butter in this dish and she used way too much basil. Rubbish.

  • To simply cook the beef in boiling water seems misguided to me. I'm sure the beef comes out tough and flavorless when cooked this way. To cover it in a curry sauce cannot change the texture or taste. I love Thai food, but my biggest gripe is how amatuerish the beef is rendered in the curry dishes. I've experienced some really unappetizing beef at many Thai restaurants.

  • @Doleafol you are right ,we don't cook beef in boiling water, we will add raw beef after Panang curry and coconut milk is well cook and then we add beef. it seem like they cook they way.

  • two hot chicks come and cook for me ;-)

  • This shit is da bomb wow Some people is jus fucking ignorant she showing u a basic to cook it jus adjust it to ur self how to cook it damn ass stop complaing

  • Why didn't you just mix the beef, coconut milk, and the paste all together in a pan and cook it? That's how i do it.

  • VERY CHARMING LADY

  • I made this tonight and it really came out good :) Thanks for uploading the recipe and video!!

  • your mom is so sweet and nice.

  • hhhmmm..seems so good!

  • that looks tasty.

if you get the dish too salty, use some sugar to counterbalance it. different fix would be to add a few spoons of milk. honey will not always work (with oversalted pizza sauce - use sugar) but it should always work with eastern meat stews.

  • @nuriikhun It's Thai food for sure.[I'm Thai]

  • Maybe you put more salt than the recipe called for.

  • @Garunnu Its not sauce, NAM PLA is fish oil!!!

  • I have an idea! How about you adjust it!

  • some dishes require experience to get it to how you like it, next time (if there is a next time) there will be less

  • I think you can find the Panang curry paste and other Thai stuffs in Asian groceries, especially Chinese stores in every big cities. For me, the easier way is just go to Thai restaurant, that's it!

  • i made this 2 days in a row...one with beef and one with chicken breast...it was awesome...i added about 2 more tablespoon of sugar at the end..i like it a little sweet..this recipe is just like the thai resturant...awesome will be making alot more...thanks for this awesome recipe...

  • oh geez made me hungry...yummm

  • This dish looks delicious!

  • IS Thai basil different to regular basil that is used in pasta sauces?

  • its something completly different

  • Slightly different, asian spices and herbs are usually stronger in aroma, taste and flavor. Most of the worlds spices originated in asia and the indian continent and some islands in the atlantic and pacific. during the time of Magellan, These spices and herbs were worth their weight in gold.

Thai food to me is one of the most naturally delicious food in the world.

  • Agree. Masarap kasi!

  • Yes, Its just a litlebit sweeter

  • Yummy!!!

  • This is making me very very hungry :-D

  • If you wait till the carrots are "tender" your meat will be overcooked !

  • don't worry. many panangs have soft meat and fully with panang sauce in it.

  • I love your show. It reminds me when my mom taught me how to cook :)

  • I luv Thai food to death... Specially Peanut Satay!!! <3

  • Peanut Satay is Malaysian, but I like it too! :)

  • My best friend growing up was half Thai. I always liked eating at his house because his mom cooked the best food ever. Even when she didn't cook Thai food. I loved her spaghetti.

  • What cut of beef is being used please?

  • Please visit our website at thaifoodtonightDOTcom for ingredients list and cooking instructions on this and other Thai dishes

  • @egeefay because that would be easier than just mentioning it here.

  • i would put the beef at the end... cos by the time the carrots are done.... the beef might be too tough =.=

  • eieieiei this is just how we cook. Always over-cooked for the safety :P

  • Thank you so much for your recipes they are so well explained and I think your mom is so sweet and nice, she reminds me of my wonderful mother.

  • best food world:

    1 thai

    2 chinese

    3 peruvian

    4 arab

    is this clear enough?

  • Retarded? What makes you think like that? Every food has its individually taste!!!

  • she does not need to lose weight, she's just fine.

  • this kinda food is not so spicy, but slightly sweet and excellent smell from coconut milk. you can substitute a beef with a pork, chicken, lamb but not duck. (roasted duck is ok). the only one thing to beware is that different kinda meet requires different cooking time. good luck!

  • i'm very very very hungry because the food so awesome!! can u gurls make some for me!

  • SHitz! I am hungry now!!

  • อยากกินนนนนนนน

  • oh ma god....i just made it but...i don't like carrots..hahaha...so i didn't put carrots...but wow...i put hella freakin bell peppers..plus shrimps..or prawns...man...this is good....hehehe...

  • thanks for the inspiration

    i'm cooking up a

    storm

  • Yes, it's not correct at all, why have carrot?

I'm wondering why don't do the original way..?

  • Well, I think its better with carrots they make the curry more sweet and it is healthier! I normally put some frozen peas in as well. :)

  • Are the lime leaves edible or do you need to pick them out before eating?

  • They are edible.

  • The basil leaves are edible

But the Kaffir lime leaves are too tough to eat. They are just for flavoring

  • I eat them I am thai :)

  • most people do not eat the leaf itself because it is rather tough. The only time the leaf is eaten is when it sliced very thin for recipes like Tod Mun. But, of course, they can be eaten

  • I don't eat them.. it's too hard to chew. I'm thai btw *-*

  • I am loving your videos, I can't wait to try some of your recipes.

  • beautiful cooking! can you give me the name of that cooking range that you are using in this show for cooking and where to buy in usa? i love to cook outside of my kitchen the spicy food and that looks perfect. thanks

  • I don't get how this is a Malaysian dish, this is really more Thai. But still, tasty! Mmm...thai food I love.

  • The correct spelling is pAnang... not Penang. Penang is a state in Malaysia. pAnang is a thai dish. Do not let 2nd class american english to mis-pronounce the word. PANANG!

  • Thank you

    You are correct

    I made the spelling change

  • 5 stars !!!!!

  • Hi

We go to a local thai cafe here in London and have something called Pla Samila (so sorry for my spelling!) It is trout fillets, onions, chillies and cashew nuts?

Would love to know how to cook it!

    xx

  • FOR THOSE OF US WHO ARE COOKS...KNOW THIS ISN'T THE CORRECT WAY TO COOK IT! the sauce(coconut 1can) is suppose to sit on low heat till saturated along with lemon grass, curry paste, kaffir lime leaf,& fish sauce for about 10-15. Add 1 to 1/2 can of coconut milk, along w/ beef & veggies bring to boil & cooked. This way, the meat & veggies are cooked by the sauce and all ingredients are well distributed. Put over rice and enjoy! If you follow this recipe, YOU WILL DEFINETLY ENJOY IT ALOT MORE!

  • aroi :D

  • yummmmeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • love the way they say shicken lol its cute her mother is funny :D

  • กิน beef หรือ กินคน โง่ บ่

  • with chicken dont you fry it first?

and also with chiken is it better to substitute the water with coconut milk?

and with the leaves should you take them out or leave them in after they hav cooked in?

  • do you have to cook the beef in water, can you cook it in a little coconut milk?

  • The reason we precook the meat in water and not in coconut milk is because we don't want to overcook the coconut milk

  • I love these videos, and cannot wait to try this and all of the recipes. The mom and daughter are so warm, and I think they are more inspiring than the food itself.

One question; What kind of leaves were those that were added with the carrots?

    Thanks!

  • looks like a cool show. I wonder if they are on TV, and if they are on American TV because this seems like a nice show.

  • The curry used here what do I look for in a USA market? Thanks can't wait to make it.

  • Mae Ploy Brand makes a penang curry paste.

You can google it and find online stores that will ship it to you. Around 3-4 dollars US I think

  • Thanks so much I love your videos and will use them to finally learn to cook Thai food. I have been to Thailand 2 times and love the country, food and people very much. I love listening to you talk. Thanks again. Bill

  • stagleap07 go into thai shop dude but it there

  • I've made this twice now and it tastes better to me with the whole can of coconut milk and half the fish sauce and two TBS of sugar. Everything else is great. It got too dry without the extra coconut milk. Kinda happened in your video, too. We added red bell pepper, too. Great dish! Thanks!!!

  • can I use chicken stock instead of water to enhance the flavor?

  • I've never tried it with chicken stock. Let me know how it taste if you try.

  • na aloy maak na krub , jak kiin jung leiy

  • look yummy

  • yummy!

  • wow fish sauce in everything lol looks good xD

  • Where do I find the type of curry paste mentioned here?

  • asian food store

  • yumm 5 stars !!!

  • Can we replace beef with chicken in this recipe?

    Thanks,

    AM

  • Yes. Chicken may also be substituted

  • Is fish sauce what is sold as Nuoc Mam in Paris, France? I wonder where I can get penang curry paste in Paris, France? I miss Thai food. Thank you.

  • Yes. I think the Vietnamese call fish sauce Nuoc Mam. I would imagine that in a city the size of Paris you can find many Asian food stores carrying penang curry paste

  • I live in Saint-Denis, just adjacent to Paris, and am handicapped. Asian food specialty supply stores are surprisingly hard to find in Paris, even. Thank you for the fish sauce comment. That, I can buy from the Arabs and Turks in my name. Go figure!

  • I'm not sure if this is accurate but this is from the internet:

There are a few tiny Asian grocery stores in the 5th arrondissement in Paris on Rue Lagrange.

Paristore is an Asian supermarket in the region of Paris.

It has many branches, including one in the 13th arrondissement, situated near Tang Frères, another supermarket selling Asian fo

  • Thanks. These places are not handicapped accessible but I can still try and see if the sell via the Net or mail order. The 13th is more than 20 km from where I live. I won't give up, though! Have a great day!

  • Ooo. That young Thai lady is pretty!! Good food too. I think i'll try making this tonight!!

  • there's sugar in ALL thai food....seriously...

  • looks yummy but i dont understand the addition of sugar. I mean ur trying to make curry, its usually hot and spicy.
