@brown55061 Don't worry, hammerheads aren't really as dangerous as other recogizable shark species, hammerheads have considerably smaller mouths than say a tiger or a white shark. Also, that shark was probably originally over a mile away from shore, but the smell of the bait brought it in. Also, sharks mostly come inshore during nightime.

Im the guy fighting this fish in the video...ive been doing this for about 6 yrs now and have alot of exp with sharks...the dont eat people they are a fish they eat fish...great whites and tigers can also have a mammal diet(seals birds etc) shark attacks are by accident they eat fish not humans....ive released over 1000 sharks in the last 5 years under team oldskool, we are one of the best landbased shark teams in the country.

Dragging a shark backwards will drown it but not this short distance. Think about it like holding your breath. You see many fisherman grab shark by their tail but in reality a shark can swing around far enough to bite them holding it.

Hammerheads will attack the same as a white but it is not as likely.

It is a shame to see a novice cut the line and leave a hook in when there are so many commercially available de-hooking products out there.
