  • its possessive behavior, not really aggressive. He probably only snaps at you (which looks scary, but is just posing), he won't try to physically hurt you if you took his toy.

And you are rewarding his possessive behavior by talking sweet and petting him... A huge mistake, you should have been consequence and "claimed" the toy.

Placing your foot on it when it was on the ground is a good and safe trick to do it.

  • you should be banned from owning dogs.

  • I wouldn't put up with this for 10 seconds!

  • Also petting the dog is re-inforcing the growling.

  • Wow my pit doesn't even do this...

  • am i the onlyone that laughed when she said "give mumma that bone" ?

  • hahaha i have a hunting dog i never give him any bones when the children are home=)

  • you cant handle the dog it can bite a child if child is somewhere near get a life and not a dog

  • You need to show that dog who's boss. . .

  • The baby voice and petting you're giving her is rewarding her for that behavior.. grab her by the back of her collar.. put a glove on and TAKE that from her. Don't let her own you like this! Then restrain her in a carrier and teach her that this is not appropriate!

  • @mjfromga89 This dog needs serious training or I see another dog being put down/

  • @HedgieDiva This dog is very old, so I doubt it'll be put down because of this behavior.. it's just annoying that her owner finds it cute instead of knocking this out...

  • @mjfromga89 Simple, It's a small dog. which really isn't an excuse.

  • Shes the pack leader. ^_^

  • Welllpp. If I had a dog that EVER did that to me, that would be the last fucking time that dog ever snarled at anybody.

  • @colbaltwolf Right, who lets their dog do this.

  • just take the fucking bone, that dog is dominating you!

  • lol you're giving her affection when the dog is in that terrotorial state of mind :P that's only making it worse ... She's not Rainbow or your baby, she's an animal, and the best thing for her is to treat her like it, or else she will give you that kind of dominance, terrotoial and unstable behaviour.. it's not good for her, quit it!

  • and you should never just take something away from a dog in a state like that. you never see dogs in the wild just take something without the other dog surrenduring or retreating from the object the other dog wants. its a hard concept to teach without showing people.

  • @realloyd20 I agree getting the dog to surrender the bone would be better than taking it, but how would you get him/her to do so in that state? My dog (90 pounds) tried that a couple times, testing the water with me after I brought him home from the shelter, and each time I took the bone without hesitation. The first few months were tough, because I was the only one who could get near the dog, but I didn't take his nonsense and he transformed to a big teddy with everyone for the past 8 years.

  • @baguazhang77 like i said its a hard concept to teach. and that non hesitation was good, but in your head you have to have that mind set that thats yours, adn if he growls get down right next to him on one knee, kneel confidantly. wait till she stops growlling, and the rest is complicated but dont try it unles you get some profesional help

  • @realloyd20 Thanks for the tips.

I think have a good rapport with big dogs (not small ones) and had a lot of success with mine. But, I think he was always a good boy to begin with, and was just unsure of his surroundings at first, having been in the shelter for so long.

Like children, dogs feel more calm and secure with a good leader.

I am aware I own everything my dog comes in contact with and never hesitate to pull rank, but I never bully him, as some people (e.g., Cesar Millan) promote.

  • @baguazhang77 hahaha

  • thats a very dangerous thing youre doing, and on top of that your petting him, to him when he is being dominant and youre petting him hes thinking oh its good to be dominant obsessive, but you really think that youre doing a good thing... you not. im supprised you werent bitten. to me he seems like an insecure dominance whos obbsesed with his bone. most people wait till they see them bare teeth but the biggest warning is the silence. learn how to read them carefully, or you could be bitten

  • This isn't cute. Aggression in any form is not something that should be tolerated, much less encouraged. When you pet your dog when she acts like that, you are encouraging her aggression. This looks to me like a pretty classic case of resource guarding, and that would actually be a fairly simple thing to fix if you were willing to work on it.

  • @TheBKLD My dog has similar issues, only hers is with bones and meat. How would I train that out of her?

  • @TonyRed549 There are a few ways to approach it. First, you should try redirecting your dog's attention if she shows aggression. You should also teach "drop it" and "leave it" for things that she isn't allowed to have. If your dog shows aggression, you can also remove whatever she's guarding. If she's calm, be sure to praise her. Also, respect your dog's space. If she's chewing on something quietly, as long as it's something appropriate, you should leave her be.

  • If you're girl, then i have nothing to say, if you're boy, then fuck you you fool your dog agressive because you're doing that

  • @duongduo oh and wtf, I'm sorry but being a girl is not an excuse to have an aggressive dog, they can handle it just as good. But you are probably one of those old fashioned guys who think girls can't lead or handle things, its the 21th century you fuckface.

  • @wertyhDA I'm not talking about girl i'm talking about your people, you guys just making the dog disrespect it's owner, if my dog did that to me i'll kick it. Stupid dog.

  • @duongduo ?? your people? sounds the same to me... And kicking a dog is not going to help, you only make him more agressive.

  • What a shit owner! Learn how to train your dog dammit!

  • is that a treat from greenies?

  • yous a bitch and im not talking about the dog.

  • When you pet her while she is growling at you, you are rewarding her for that behavior. If you want it to stop, try making her earn her treats and food by making her sit or something. Also try offering her something better in exchange for what she has, that way she learns that you are not taking her treat, you are only giving her something better.

  • Dat dog shud be put down for aggression

  • @tauntonbostons1 This type of aggression is easily fixed by maiking them earn everything in severe cases. And letting them know that all things good come from you.

  • I am disturbed after watching this video..there is NOTHING CUTE about this to me... I noticed all you are doing by 'baby talking' and petting him whiole he's snarling is CONTRIBUTING to his bad behavoir by reinforcing them!!!

Remember we pet & praise GOOD dogs...

Your praising him for growling at YOU, the OWNER! Not good! This is a seriously dangerous animal who is going to hurt someone.

  • MY dog used to be protective of food and shit. Until I just took it from him randomly and didn't show any sign of intimidation when he would snarle. He soon became very placid

  • @royaldutch101 Why should feeding time be a time where your dog has to be stressed and have to guard his/her food from you that’s ridiculous dogs should be happy and feel safe all the time around you, tell me how food aggression is normal? Your dog could eat the wrong thing that could danger his/her life and you tried to take it from them and they attack you for trying to save their life. My dog is too loyal and respects me too much to attack me for something as silly as food.

  • @Haruhikittty "something as silly as food"!!thats a ridiculous comment!a dog is an animal and will defend itself, all dogs have the nature of the wolf in them they all have there natural instinct to protect and survive and taking its food away is a threat to them.a dog cant tell if your trying to do good for them or if your trying to save its life, and as for your dogs being to loyal to bite you...bullshit...but i hope you never find out the hardway, like so many people who claim that have.

  • I wouldn't take that attitude from my dog, but my dog would never do that.

  • lol reading is important I just read the description box and yea my dogs get very grumpy and detatched as they grow old like 10years and up and your dog is pretty old agression in puppys and old dogs is hard to conquer because pups have the attention span of a 3 year old and they like experementing with what they can and cant do. Old dogs well they are old and already know what they can get away with.

  • @DarxLotus I agree

    @IAmADalek I agree

    @max2right I agree

    @ThisIsMyDarkSide I agree

You all took the words right out of my mouth. Agression of any kind is not "cute". Learn how to raise, train, and take care of a dog before you get one. I really hate food agressive dogs and I instantly feel the need to train them. It is easy to train a dog out of food agresssion and it BOTHERS MEEE! If you are affraid to touch you dog your an idiot. My dogs are affraid to be alpha and they would never bite me

  • @1NecroSpawn food aggression in a dog is normal in my opinion, its an animal at the end of the day and talking to it like a child like this woman or any amount of instict crushing training wont change that.you say your dogs are afraid to act alpha and will never bite you...BULLSHIT...how often do you hear the story of the loveable pet biting its owner or a child, you hear it almost every day.any idiot who trys to take a dogs food away deserves to be bit, dogs are considered toys nowadays, its wrong

  • @royaldutch101 yea "family pets" don’t get advanced obedience and protection training. Oh and the so called family pets get treated like toys and get left in the back yard more than half of the day because everyone is at school and work then they punish their dog for misbehaving by putting it outside... when is there positive reinforcement or training. My dogs get treated like dogs not humans and not toys! Like living animals that get home made meals every day and get exercise everyday.

  • @1NecroSpawn i dont think its nessessary for family pets to undergo that kind of training.ive had plenty of dogs, never been bitten and were never trained to that extreme.my dogs are aggressive with food only but thats normal!i dont keep dogs in my house i myself live with a decent sized yard they live, play, sleep and eat outside and do normal dog things i dont try make them into a child or brother or something by useing silly extreme training methods which is what most people do.

  • @royaldutch101 no its not nessessary for pets to undergo that kind of training I have had 3 dogs not go through any training & never bite me. Still people have been trying to find ways to sue everyone. So I have been putting my dogs in training because of these people. A lady told her kid to step on my dogs tail, another grabbed my dog and kissed him on the face waiting for him to bite These are not wolves but domestic dogs so I dont think dogs should have any reason to be aggressive around food

  • Cute? This is a behavior problem and making the dog around will make it worse. Find a professiona dog trainer.

  • What a stupid thing.... food aggression is not cute, funny or for youtube. It's a serious issue that can be very very dangerous.

  • I know some people will say im wrong and say this shouldn't be done but i have had and trained many dogs and when faced with blunt aggresion like this i would slap the dog on the nose and try asking again and repeat until the dog learns

  • he dont love momma

  • Learn how to raise a dog before adopting or buying one!!!!!

  • Tell 'em Rainbow, it's MY bone and don' EVEN get up here in my business! :)

  • You're an absolute moron.

  • learn how to train your fucking dog before something bad happens

  • HIDE YO KIDS, HIDE YO WIFE CUZ HE BE SNATCHIN AAAL OF YO PEOPLE UP

  • Okay, so I hate to tell you this but youre doing it all wrong. By petting her while she is growling, you are pretty much telling her that its ok to growl and be possesive of her bone, and you want her to do that. You are reinforcing her behaviour. You need to claim the bone as yours and only allow her to have it by you giving her permission. This is not a cute or laughing matter. This is serious and will lead to more problems. She is saying that she is the boss, not you.

  • @RayWilliamJohnson check this out :D

  • THIS IS SERIOUS! you should never EVER let her do that, train her by giving her ordinary food and to only give it to her, when she takes nicely, once she has mastered this, do with treats, you can't DO THIS!

  • love your mama/baby talk!!

  • give your dog a kick in the face, let it know whos the pack leader.all dogs need a beating to break their spirit and show it ur boss. that dog will bite u one day unless u give it a whack

  • @fergybox Anybody who abuses their dog like you, should never own any animal, you don't know the first thing about training and you have no idea how wrong you are, the people that "kick dogs in the face"are the ones that get bit and raise abused, super-aggressive dogs.

Food guarding is a behavior that needs to be addressed with patience and the correct training methods, not barbaric notions.

  • ROFLMBAO....... them eyes lookin like, touch this muthafucka if you want to......

  • You are stupit, peting the dog while growling. You are giving him signal he is doing the right thing

  • you petting him when he is growling, thats like saying " good, good boy for growling at me" you need to show him your his boss. thats why he doesn't give you his bones/treats.

  • my "stupid" dog would eat yours. I tell mine too smile and he smiles, like a dog. Funny though

  • petting & talking to him wont stop him from growling. show him who's boss.

  • Great job reinforcing agression in your dog as well as the fact that your dog doesn't listen to you. Get that dog trained, this video only highlights a serious issue with your ability to handle your dog.

  • Call Cesar Millan!!! he'll make sure that Rainbow will never act like this again!!

  • awhhhh she's adorable :)

  • man, this woman is f crazy!

  • If I were that dog I'd be growling too. Geeze, either take the bone or leave the poor dog alone!

  • what's sad is your are reinforcing his attitude towards you.

  • Youre going to end up getting bit. Food aggression is a serious problem and not "cute"

  • lol

  • lol @ "you s'posed to love mama"

  • Maybe she's just having some pain with age and feeling a little grumpy and possessive. Cute, the way you talk to her, you sound so- "local kine" wahine. :O)

  • adorible xD

  • LOL!!!!!!!! cutie!!!!!!

  • That's so funny. Haha.

  • LMAO!!!

  • Aw, she is so cute.. Leave her bone alone, mama!

  • ROFL!! "It's mine, ya hear! Get yer own damn bone!"

  • You say she only does that with her treats since she got older? I will play vet for you.

I think she has early stage of Alzheimer. They will bite the hell out of you. :-))

  • lol. That's so cute! Reminds me a bit of my cat, that attacks my leg and play bites it once in awhile. :P

  • My dog Jack has no problem sharing with me, the cat however, is a different story. Cute video.

  • That was so freaking cute! :D

  • Rainbow is not into sharing, but she is a cutie.

  • do you blame her, if i was chewing gum and you tried to take it, i would bite you to.

  • Girl, a bone is not worth looseing a finger over. ROTFL

  • hehe these is my dang treats rainbow says! get your own!! :P

  • LMAO...thanks for putting a smile on my face! I needed some dog-gone humor today! Rock on Steph!

  • hahaha! Yep...she's getting old...doesn't want you to mess with her at all! LOL

  • She is so cute!

  • lol, she loves ya but not as much as the bone, good one((smiles))

  • hehehehe cute as heck!

  • LMAO :) Pretty doggie.

  • Damn... she hasen't bitten you yet has she?

  • I wanna subscribe to Rainbow's channel! Steph, she's so cute. "Don't touch my bone!"

  • @thizizliz we share this channel with Stetson and other family members...lol

  • @StephStance Your dog needs discpline. You should either become a better owner or sell her to a better owner who actually has knowledge about dog behavior.

No dog should behave this way. A well behaved dog will let you take the food right out of its mouth.

  • @bluegama500 Well said!!!! this behavior is the owners fault because they didn't give them discpline and limits from the beggining. An owner who does not put limits on thier food from the start leads them to that kind of behavior when it comes to thier food. It's never late to change that actitud, there are many professional dog trainers who can help in this case.

  • @ThisIsMyDarkSide Yep, your exactly right. Sure this dog may not be dangerous to adults and older kids. But what about when kids come over, and even babies.

  • @bluegama500 That could sure be a problem when little kids are near. What that dogs owner needs to learn is dog's psychology. A dogs psychology and intelegence is much lower than humans . Dogs do not think, are not reasonable and don't have feelings. Dogs don't even understand human launguage and talking to your dog is not worth nothing. Dogs have to be treated with corparal launguage and needs corparal launguage in this case. Profesional trainers can solve this problem in 30 minutes.

  • @ThisIsMyDarkSide Don't have feelings? Dogs do have feelings, and I think its pretty obvious when dogs are sad, angry, suspicious etc.

Dogs do understand a few words. For example, when I say no, they know I'm angry, when I say fuck off, they know to get away from me. My uncles dog get scared every time you say fuck, because when hes angry at them he swears.

They know what guns are too. I pointed a gun at them, just for fun(it was empty) and they stood still started shaking.

  • LMAO!

  • it's natural instinct all dogs don't like when you try to steal their food

  • beautiful dog! favorited!

  • the reflex omg! snap at you and still got the bone..lol

  • @jenene84 she's fast like that lol

  • My 5lb killer attack dog is just like that with his toys! It is so funny because he is so little and cute and furry

  • @koreamy owe I'd like to see some footage of that

  • You're the "Dog Whisperer"..ha-ha!

  • @grumpychuck the thing is...what am I whispering lol

  • aww my dog was named rebel.

  • @sunsetlover did he act like one?

  • Wow, you can't let her win with that... otherwise she thinks she's the pack leader!

  • @baileykix She never use to be this way...only as she has gotten older.I think it is due to my daughter teasing her.

  • lmfao @ that... smart dog... won't get pissed off when petted but flips wig when u go for the bone. that was cute as hell...

  • @oWHONERSo she was hungry lol

  • @StephStance lmfao i'd hate to see her mad. sheesh whatta temper.

  • @StephStance she waasnt hungry she was being and obsessive insecure dominance. and he wouldnt be cute if it was a much bigger dog
