I think the difficulty of the shot is a bit over rated. Anywhere on the back part of that 16th green the ball feeds down towards the hole. As was commented, davis love made a similar shot. Still a great shot but, not as hard as it was made out to be

@jeswasgui have you played golf before? Do you understand how hard it is to hit a chip shot when the ball is backed up against the first cut on a major championship course. It is nearly impossible.You have to hit the ball directly in the middle, you cannot come down on it like a pitch shot. Also, to make that shot tiger had to hit it exactly where he it, not one millimeter to the left or right. Give any pro that shot 1000 times and he'd be lucky to make one...
