  • 435 squadron staffs cadet brookes 1972-1975

  • Im a cadet and im proud to be one @2499sqn

  • We now have our own channel called 1004atc

Don't forget to visit us at 1004atc.co.uk

  • To get the latest on 1344sqn in action visit our channel - 1344CardiffATCsqn

  • cool i got to 2000 (eckington) sqn and we do the same stuff as this it would be cool though in the video that you include some stuff at the sqn like parade and also night-ex and stuff :)

  • im thinking of joining air cadets in about 3 months (thats when im turning 13)

and this has given me a good idea on what im doing!!!

    Thanks!!

  • @zoe19944eva You should! :)

  • wow you guys get to mess around with expencive stuff ....i bet your gliders cost more than our powered aircraft lol . im from canada so yeh we dont get trusted with nice things:(

  • yo guys im not hear to abuse or be abused,im from 2328 (bishops cleeve),myself and a cadet from another sqn are planning to organise a night excercise,it would most likley contain 25-40 cadets with appropriate staff.

It would be on a hill and could only be up to 3 hours long, anyone got any ides, anything would help becuase its the first real night ex our sqn has done with others and i want to make a good impression on our CO by organising the excerise, thanks

    Also nice vid

  • @bishboshj

hi there are various exercises that can be run. firstly look at the terrain and what type of exercise. i assume a night movement exercise. give goals to be reached such as gathering information from set points on a map.

  • @bishboshj

    - this encorporates map reading and orienteering along with problem solving if you put obstacles (enemies) positioned on route. i would suggest having two maps and spilt the evening into 2 parts one team be enemy defending some intel that CANNOT be moved from a general location and second use a different map with different intel and different locations. as its a night ex id suggest having the intel pieces put in a polypocket with a glow stick attached.

  • @Gummybear1004

thanks very much ill forward some ideas to my CO

  • 424 sqn (southampton) RULES!

  • I'm sighing up too!

  • @p1tB1k3b0y that would be a correct assumption however the atc policy does not issue field combats or parade shoes

  • how come barley any atc have cadet 100's im joining i got to keep mine from acf but no one else ive seen has 1

  • Greetings from 7 Squadron (City Of Hamilton) Air Training Corps in New Zealand!

We only get to fly in aeroclub C172s and 150s, plus gliders and Robinson R44s. NZ ATC don't have their own aircraft, since we get no government funding.

  • ive flown in tutors and vigalents but i really want to go in a viking :)

  • @Aircadetlakie first of all what sqn, secondly what age and thirdly if you want that ask with your OC and see if any places are available on neighbouring schools who may fly vikings

  • @Gummybear1004 yeah i will, im from 473 hartlepool squadron in durham and northumbria wing

  • awesome recruitment video (thank god i don't appear in it at all XD)

  • 1:39 is outside my sqn

  • it does state that 1344 created the video and that this is for promotional use of the air cadets.

  • @p1tB1k3b0y ... Yes, No.1 and No.2 ... Number 1 is usually for important events. You also get your 'greens'.

  • andd is the 625? Hullavington ( wintch lauch ) and power at VGS St. athan..?

  • 625 VGS is Viking winch launch glider correct at Hullavington Air Field. 634 Operate the Powered Vigilant glider which is operated out of MOD St Athan

  • haha watched this on my first month nearly 5 years ago! or summin like this video lol rember the queen music!

  • when im 13 im gonna go in to the air codets

  • 0:26 why is this youndster shooting the rpg?

  • if carefully examined they are firstly not on a shooting range, secondly an instructor is present and exercise is to teach the youth about various weaponry available to the armed forces under instruction of supervisory staff, there are also no live or dummy rounds for these weapons available to the cadet or in a place that is not securely maintained.

  • btw from CDT McNeil

  • Ahh but pontys squadron isnt the best!

    254 Aberdare is!!!!!!

  • @downwiththeswineflu im sure FLT LT cotter would agree but we have a better building

  • @Gummybear1004 oaa ayee yeah our building is almost in the river XD but we are still the best XD

  • @downwiththeswineflu lol, what squandron are you, Im 50f sqn (south london)

  • Comment removed

  • @downwiththeswineflu The only best squadrons are the 50 foundation squadrons, they have been here the longest meaning they are the best.

  • @ToningFrancesco Being around the longest does not make you the best. Its the staff and cadets that make a Squadron what it is. Even quantity doesn't make you the best(and I'm from the largest Sqn in my Wing and, I think, Wales and West Region)its the time and effort put in by the staff to run and organise the activities and the time and effort put in by the cadets and their parents to attend.Anyway we're all here to do the same thing and though a little competition is healthy its not everything!

  • @serenity1344 Agreed, Sorry if my comment came around as a bit of prick lool

  • @serenity1344 is correct. Currenty the largest sqn, not only in the wing or region but core is indeed 1344sqn Current sqn cadet numbers as of 6th Jan 2011 1344 Cardiff. 146 126 City of Derby. 137 1083 Uxbridge. 135 1475 Dulwich. 134 2427 Biggin Hill. 121 146 Northwich. 119 331 Chesterfield. 113 93 City of Bath. 110 1312 Southend. 110 215 Swansea. 108 Of course the best squadron is always going to be the one you're in, and if you think it isn't then do something to make it the best.
