  • now there is a new monorail toy now. 2011

  • Nice job. It looks almost identical to the set that was just released.

  • How did you do that

  • Did you know Disneyland is making a toy like that one

  • Whats the name of this toon?

  • @pluto5839 the monorail song. ;-)

  • Man I wish that they made a toy like that.yours looks like the rely one. By the way it looks really really cool!!!

  • Awesome awesome awesome. I'm doing a conversion of my monorail to radio control and adding led interior lighting, new headlights, and beacons. I'm ditching the speaker to make room for the cab interior.

  • Isn't he music from autopia

  • Hey where can i find this music? I could use it for a progect im doing.

  • Hey, I drive the monorail at Disneyland and I've been collecting Disney monorails since I was 7 years. How did you make that one. I love it and want one

  • I cut off the nose cones of the original and replaced them with new ones. The new nose cones were made out of vacuum-formed plastic castings I did over a foam carving that matches the profile of the new trains. I installed lights at each end of the new nose cones that run off the battery. The nose cones were attached, sanded, and the entire thing was given a snazzy coat of paint and sticker windows.

  • @STNautilus , would you make one for me and I'll pay you for it?

  • @STNautilus

That's awesome..I coud make one run that fast for you, triple it's stock speed..only charge $25 plus shipping ($5) to do it. Check out my Disney Christmas Monorail! I have a youtube video of it

  • @STNautilus

What kind of paint did you use? was it model paint with the air can as a compressor or just a krylon fusion spraypaint? Any trouble with runoff into the tiny little grooves when you tape-off?

  • @STNautilus are you in LA? Do you want to show me how to do it? I wanna make them all

  • @traveljd Are the monorail sets still available?

  • @1foxtrot70 they are, the current models are the red stripe and teal blue

  • eet eez so tiny!

  • @Crewwstube thats what she said

  • how exactly did you make it? did you just paint it? is that all?

  • I cut off the nose cones and replaced them with new ones that represent the Mark VII look with a new lighting package. A quick sanding and a coat of paint with some detailing rounded out the rebuilt

  • wow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how long did it take you to make it ?

  • About a week and a half.

  • cooooooool can you make the tower of terror or it's a small world

  • Would you please tell me what make and model train is in your ending SMT productions credit trailer? Thanks.

  • HO Bachmann Berkshire pulling custom modified passengers cars.

  • Sorry, I didn't realize this video had the old logo credit (I thought it had the new one). The train in credit in this video is an HO IHC Old time 4-4-0, heavily modified.

  • remember to be very carefull that you don't hit your monorail set with your lawnmower when you cut you lawn.

  • Are these going to be the new models at disney world resort, or is just a " brought up idea"

  • in 1950s the Disneyland Monorail was the very first Monorail in the United State, they've gotten the Idea from German Monorail.

  • looks neat

  • AWESOME!

  • cant you make it work like a real monorail make it faster with some gears.

  • I could, though it be easier to electrify the rails and run it off 12 volts DC, given the motor can take that voltage over a long period.

  • I was speaking in terms of acuracy.

but in my view its not worth it for such a small sretch of track.

  • That looks like a blast !!!

  • What was the music? It was a great choice for the subject.

  • Its the Peoplemover "Nation on Wheels" song, but the horn at the beginning is from the Monorail song. Both tracks are from the Disneyland 6-disk 50th Set.

  • Hey, very nice! wow!!!! if you are able to do this do you think you can invent a way to make it run off electricity ? batteries are expensive!!!!!!

  • Absolutely beautiful work

  • I LOVE THE MODEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT LOOKS VERY NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you should really make 2 more onone purple make blue and one orange. and maybe make a disneyland mark v purple monorail. i'm not saying you have to but you should.

  • Funny you say that, considering my Mark VII started out as a Mark V (or VI) Monorail Purple!

  • Comment removed

  • I've only posted it on Burnsland and MiceChat.

  • Oh, when I ment monorail purple I ment the year of a million dreams monorail. but you should also make a sumarine voyage monorail.

  • Superb Job on MODing your WDW monorail to a Mark VII. very Nice!

  • Superb piece of model-making. Put me on the list if you ever consider taking commissions!

  • i want it ...

  • how much do you want for this ??

  • Aw man, awesome. How much would you charge to make another one?

  • I'm not taking commissions at this point for monorails; but I may in the future!

  • i wish the future was today!!!!!

  • BRAVO! ^_^

  • Okay, I tried looking through the albums, but I can't find it. Can you remember the name of the song or which album from Disneyland you got it on? Thank you very much

    A113

  • The song is from the 50th 6-disk set that Disney put out. Its the Peoplemover songe, with the soundeffect clip from the beginning of the Monorail song.

  • This looks so much like those Disneyland Monorail videos where different shots at the Park chase the monorail. The way how you did the same with the model is neat and a bit funny at the same time.

  • how did u do the lights on the nose and tail cones?

  • Those were done with 3 Volt lights I bought at a craft store that are wired directly to the motor in the lead car. The tail nose cone gets its power from the lead car from a wire running through the length of the monorail.

  • Thats A Cool Little Model. Like The Real Thing.

    Good Job!!!

  • ha ha yeah only one thing from the looks of things it runs much better than the real one right now!

  • Can you get the song on iTunes?

  • Its only available on the Disneyland CD(s) at the park

  • omg that looks like the real things only mini version.

  • OMFG! this is incredible. It looks life if you had just bought a new one. Im shocked

  • How did you make the new Disneyland Monorail. I have the Disneyland Resort Monorail with the Golden Gate Bridge I want to do it the same that you did. STNautilus Can you tell me instructions. please

  • First I cut off the nose-cones on the back and the front of the monorail. I carved a new nose pattern out of foam. I used a vacuum-form machine to create two hollow plastic shells from the foam pattern. I wired all the lights from 3 volt lights I got at a craft store. Those lights are connected to the motor terminals. I attached the new nose-cone and sanded the seam smooth. Next was the new paint job and window decals/stickers that I printed out. Thats how I did it!

  • plz make a how to vid on this

  • Making a video of the process is twice as hard as making the monorail itself!

    I'll think about it though...

  • You, absolutelly rock! you took the essence of the new monorail, im impressed!

  • I really don't know how you do it Sam! I'm alway's impressed by the models you make! all I can say is WDI PLEASE hire this guy!

  • very good idea! WDI needs someone like him!

  • Wow! That is really an amazing job! Looks just like the real one will, even down to the lights. Great Job!

  • cool i want one !!! how did you do it

  • At least yours worked when you finished, Disneyland's is delayed by 2 months.

  • The Mark VII Monorail Red debuts on Friday 4-25-2008.

  • yay the new monorail that will be in disneyland!^_^

  • Cool video!! Are these comming to Disneyland too?

  • Nope, thats a one-of-a-kind model I made there!

Although, Disney may make Mark VII toy to sell at the park.

  • No, I meant the real ones, but I already found out they are comming this summer. Nice model! It looks almost exactly like the real ones!!

  • Ah, the Monorail red at Disneyland is already running! It is only doing daytime guest-less service, however.

  • nice!

  • *drools*

You went through the same process as Disney! That shows dedication :D

    Excelent job!
